The Green Cabin @ Buttermilk Acres

The Green Cabin (with the Red Cabin and Gathering Pavilion) provides a wonderful glamping experience for family and friends to gather in a beautiful, natural environment; enjoying a waterfall, small stream, and group fire ring. While we encourage renting the cabins together, we do rent them individually (with the pavilion becoming a shared space to be enjoyed by both cabins). Yes, we are open after the hurricane. The loft is separate from our house, privacy assured. Enjoy our friendly chickens, walk in our gardens. Harvest fresh herbs. 12 minutes from Boone. 15 minutes to ASU. Cozy, modern. Fast Internet. Pet free space. Adults only +(infants under 7 mo. Stocked kitchen. If you cook, we ask you to clean up too, and leave the kitchen as you found it. Views of Snake mountain, famous for hang gliding. Trout fishing & 3 nearby ski slopes. All 30 minutes from loft.

The North Star Dome

Camp on our pick-your-own flower farm & petting zoo! This is camping, elevated with style & comfort. We provide the climate controlled dome, comfy bed (bring your own sheets), griddle, and basic supplies. Bring your own queen size bedding/sleeping bags, water, cooler, & firewood. Rustic outdoor shower is OPEN till October 1st! The Dome is nestled on our farm's off-grid hilltop, with tremendous mountain views. There are trails, farm animals to visit, & seasonal flowers/veggies to pick!

The Bungalow is a cozy not-so-tiny home at 420 sq ft. A 16x20 Gothic Arched building designed and built by the owner. Besides a fully equipped kitchen, lovely bathroom, and comfortable sleeping quarters, you will find wonderful amenities outside! Views of mountains, pasture, and woods. Relax in a hammock or tell your secrets to Drifter the horse. Often Mr Groundhog or the Deer family will visit, too. The Bungalow at Grandpa's Mountain is a quiet getaway.

Your first-floor suite has a Tennessee bedroom, one bath, and another bedroom off the living room separated by privacy curtains. Enjoy a fireplace, a dining room, and three private exterior entries. You also have a large patio with a fire pit, grill, and 3-person hot tub! You also may use the 7-foot square hot tub on the hangar patio if you like. Hike the TN/NC line on our ridge. Hike into the gorge for rock climbing, swimming, and flumes.
