Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Erewash District

We had the most wonderful stay at this beautifully decorated barn house in Melbourne. As a family of four, it was perfect—spotlessly clean, incredibly comfortable, and so peaceful. We all slept soundly in the cosy beds and felt right at home from the moment we arrived. Eve had left some lovely surprises for us, and our children were delighted to relax in the garden with biscuits and squash after the journey. My husband and I enjoyed a glass of wine out there too—it was the perfect start to our stay. There was plenty to keep everyone happy, from books and DVDs to a great TV setup, and we made full use of the spacious kitchen for family meals. The location is brilliant too—within walking distance of several pubs and cafes. We had a lovely dinner at Harpurs and enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Birds Bakery. The property felt very private and secure, and Eve was a fantastic host—warm, helpful, and responsive. Thank you, Eve, for a perfect stay—we’ll definitely be back soon!

We stayed with three adults and three kids for a week. Lots of space for the family. Kitchen very well equipped, the slow cooker was a real bonus. Having Chester Green nearby was great, and we enjoyed waking the loop to Darley Park. We didn’t have a car, so did walks to train and bus stations. They aren’t super close, but easily walkable and the river path is lovely. Mall is about a 20 minute walk and has everything you need. Would recommend.

Brilliant stay in Nottingham. House was extremely clean and well presented, the hosts were helpful and supportive. We had a great time!

Communication with Barbara was excellent. She was very friendly and accommodating. She was not put off by the fact we were attending a festival! The place was so charming and we loved saying hello to the dogs next door! Great location and we would definitely stay again. This is an absolute gem of a house. beautifully decorated, wood floors, great kitchen. Like a country cottage. Gillian is an absolute pleasure to deal with. the location is fantastic, less than 10.mins to the shopping centre in town, but loads of local pubs too. 2 mins walk from the train station. Highly, Highly recommended.

This house was great for our family of four plus 2 grandparents and a dog, it had everything we needed, we could park the two cars right outside, and it was very quiet. There was a nice park to walk the dog a few minutes walk away. James was a responsive and friendly host. I thought it was good value for money.

Dera is a brilliant host, very quick at communicating back and helpful. we have been booking for a month or so now for our site workers, and they are very happy with the house and request for me to book again. Highly recommend. Thank you.

Lynda provides not only the most comfortable and wonderful accommodation but on arrival there is fresh eggs (from her own hens) jam, butter. Artisan bread and croissants. Fresh milk and freshly squeezed orange juice! Every need is catered for. The coach house is such a tranquil place, we wouldn’t choose to go anywhere else. It’s just perfect. There are wonderful eating places within a 15-30 minute drive. Fantastic walks too. We cannot recommend The Coach house highly enough. It’s just fantastic!

We had a lovely stay. The apartment was beautiful and very well equipped. The beds and sofa's were very comfortable and Phillip was a lovely host. The location was excellent. I would not hesitate to stay again.

We were only staying one night so not much opportunity to explore the area. Accommodation was very well thought out and perfect for 2 people. Beautiful view from the balcony - wished we were staying longer! Make sure you screen shot the get-in instructions (which were very clear). I failed to do this and had to disturb Clare to let us in as I couldn’t get online. I chose it for proximity to the Canine Partners national training centre and wouldn’t hesitate to book again if I were to make another visit

Our one night stay at Pauline's place was ideally suited for an event at Darley Moor. The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed. The bed was super comfy and the shower was particularly good. Pauline communicated well with us and even let us know we could arrive a little bit earlier if needed. We were on the edge of what looked like a lovely village so it was really nice and quiet.

I really enjoyed my stay here. It was quiet, bed was comfortable I had everything I needed - microwave (which also works like an oven), kettle, toaster, Nespresso machine. The shower was good, there were fresh towels and toiletries and sufficient toilet paper for the week that I stayed. A great bonus was the 2-3 min walk to the lovely Wollaton Park. The university of Nottingham main campus is also walking distance away. I’d say the Jubilee campus was about 18 min walk (5 min drive). Andrew was kind enough to leave me milk, bread and cereal to get me started which was much appreciated! There was also parking in front of the accommodation which was very convenient. I’ll definitely stay again if I visit Nottingham.

A really lovely place in a very quiet area. It's a quick walk to Sherwood where there are lots of shops to walk round, and many buses go through there to get to the city. The flat was just as described, and had everything we needed for our stay, and there was always somewhere to park on the road. John was a super host, providing all the information we needed for our stay, even leaving us a few chocolates for when we got there. We will definitely stay there again when we next visit Nottingham.

my stay was everything I needed, I stayed there 2 years ago and knew what to expect. Surroundings are so peaceful, loft has everything you need, walking distance to horse and jockey. Amanda always responds quickly if there are any issues.

A lovely stay in Wirksworth and so glad that we booked this place!! The décor throughout is lovely and boutique style with a very cosy and homely atmosphere. We stayed here for 4 nights and wished we’d booked for a couple more as there’s plenty to do in the local area. Angus was very responsive and on the first evening sent a message to make sure we had checked-in all okay, which was a nice touch. Only recommendation that I can find is to make sure you take some kitchen roll & surface spray as these little things can easily get forgotten when visiting places as this isn’t supplied. All in all, would love to visit again!

Fantastic room. Really thought out so well . My son wanted to keep the room. There are utensils, towels and toiletries. Underfloor heating. Pull out tv. V comfy. Temp control. Hot shower. It’s just perfect

The stay was beautiful and perfect. It was clean and cozy. With access to a private garden and a quiet area, it was perfect for quiet evenings. The city centre is close by - 10-16 minute walk. Christina, the host, was friendly and responsive! Would definitely book again!
