Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Erewash District

Wonderful and quaint little home. It felt like we were staying at a friend’s house and not at an Airbnb. Everything was spotlessly clean, including all the nicknacks, which I was impressed by! Would stay there again next time we are in Bakewell. One thing that is 100% not her fault but future guests should be aware of: we have O2 and Vodaphone mobile providers and 4G coverage was very spotty in the house and around town in general. If I were staying there again, I would purchase the EE WiFi on the first night that is available in the house and just plan on using that for my visit.

Rachael has a top AirBnB rating because her place is superbly located and thoughtfully set-up. The cottage is very light, spacious, super comfortable and clean, and has all that you could want for a relaxing stay. Standout details are the list of walks and places to eat and drink, the views from the house, the really well equipped kitchen – and not forgetting Rachael’s greeting with a tin of home baked brownies, 2 ponies and 2 dogs! And the stag with antlers running in the next field… We will be booking our next stay at Rachael and Gerry’s cottage soon and hope to book the neighbouring Stables Cottage and superb looking cabin too for a visit with family.

Lovely place, ideally located. Beds very comfy. Log burner was great and kicked out a lot of heat. Great pub a stones throw and a chippy. Nice touches with the bath salts and lovely smelling soap. DON’T forget your towels!

Nice little Cottage on a quiet road. Parking is in a free car park opposite (the host provides a permit to put on your dashboard). It’s a small cottage but had everything we needed. The TV has Netflix etc. The stairs are quite tight, so probably not good for people with reduced mobility. Upstairs the property has a single and double bedroom with a bathroom in the middle. Each bedroom has a door into the bathroom which is a great idea. The cottage is 2 mins from the pubs, cafes and shops etc. There is a carpark with EV chargers 2mins walk away. Overall a great place and town to visit.

I booked the Hobbit Hut for a surprise for my mum for Mother’s Day and it was truly a wonderful weekend. Nicola is such a kindhearted and attentive host and she made our stay so lovely. The hut itself was beautiful, clean, comfortable and very well equipped. We loved sitting outside the hut and in the amazing wood-fired hot tub as it was so quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed exploring the local area and the pub just up the road served great food. We would definitely recommend the hut to anyone looking for a relaxing, peaceful off-grid experience and think it would be amazing to stay there at anytime of year.

A beautiful cottage, with a charming layout, making the most of the fantastic views. We could have sat watching the views for hours and were only sorry we didn't have more time to enjoy the terrace! It was well appointed and felt very homely. We loved how convenient it was for walking into Matlock Bath (only 5 minutes) with its fish and chip shops, ice cream parlours, amusements and lovely riverside walk and 2 play parks. What a great location for us as a family and it was very handy to be able to leave the car at the house and walk to the cable cars for the Heights of Abraham. We appreciated the milk and tin of chocolate biscuits. One tip for anyone who visits is to park at the top of the house, and not take the car around to the front of the house to save having to reverse up the steep hill as the road at the bottom has now been cordoned off. We have just returned from a lovely week's stay at Julie's. The cottage is located on Birchwood farm and is tucked away in the corner. Parking is right outside. Everything we needed was there for a family of 5 including superfast broadband. Beds were comfy and it's very quiet & peaceful. Home from home. There is lots to do around the area, you can walk to the local village of Cromford and many other places. through the woodland or along the Cromford canal. Matlock & Matlock bath are a short drive away. We would definately stay again.

Very well kept, no issues with check-in and host very responsive. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Duck’s Crossing Cottage felt homely immediately and throughout our stay. Relaxing and beautiful surrounding in the lovely village of Egginton. The house and garden are spacious and well equipped. People in the village are very friendly. We look forward to staying here again in the near future. Many thanks Ros :)
