Castle vacation rentals in Dordogne

An absolutely beautiful castle steeped in history, our room was absolutely huge and very comfortable. We felt like royalty stay there! Breakfast consisted of homemade and home grown produce which was fabulous. Thank you Françoise for a wonderful stay.

We had a great stay and would highly recommend for those in search of a very peaceful retreat! The property is full of character and the renovations completed by Thierry and Benedicte preserve the history of this amazing chateau.

We were able to stay in the « Red Room », in the tower building. A nice big room, as you can expect from a castle. Beautiful views, located in the middle of nature. Beautiful large swimming pool. Very friendly operator and castle lord. You could just do your thing. Everything was possible, nothing had to…. A nice holiday feeling.

Our stay and meeting Ouafa was the best surprise of our trip. Everything was exactly as the listing described it, and even better. The space is unique, the environment equally. Breakfast at the pool unforgettable and delicious.H Ouafa, smiling and helpful. Next time we need to stay longer.

This is a truly unique and beautiful chateau in the heart of the French countryside. The surroundings are vineyards as far as the eye can see and the property is stunning. It is the ideal setting to explore local villages and markets or to relax by the pool.

Very nice stay at the castle, too bad that for the 1st rental of the year the cleaning left something to be desired. Apart from this unfortunate incident, this building, which is in its original state, is really great for hosting a group of 15 people. We recommend it!!

The hosts are great! They are very helpfull and relaxt. Also the house is amazing. It really feels if you live in a castle. The area around is beautiful! I should defenitely recommend this stay!!

Aurelia's house has lots of charm and superb views of the valley. We spent the Easter weekend there. It is located below the road that leads to the village of Duras, easily accessible on foot. Aurelia lives in the building below but it is very well insulated, you hear absolutely nothing and you don't risk disturbing her either. A perfect place to explore the region while enjoying the scenery from the living room.

We had a great stay during December for two weeks. The chateau is beautiful and as advertised. Floris, who manages it, was very welcoming and responsive. Its location is ideal for visiting the caves and other chateaux in the area. Given the opportunity, we would definitely rent it again, in summer or winter time.

We had a great time with the family, several spaces, privacy and friendliness the perfect combo… a beautiful environment with exceptional views… I would recommend the place without a second thought.

we had 2 very good weeks. A "castle" life in this Dungeon. Very quiet, very well equipped at all levels. Michel was most pleasant and Filou don cat came to cuddle every day. We'll be happy to go back.

Amazing and historic chateau with incredible views, lovely nearby town full of even more history and two great restaurants!! Fully equipped kitchen and washer/dryer. Mana and Frederic were so attentive and helpful to us in our stay there, and they even brought us croissants one morning!

We had a truly magical stay with friends, unforgettable evenings, themed dinner parties in medieval attire, birthday celebrations, and even an engagement in the stunning garden. Everyone who joined us said it was an incredible and unique experience!

Grand chateau in beautiful surroundings. You occupy one wing overlooking nice pool. Interior nice but professionally staged photographs possibly over sell. Good value if fully occupied.

16 of us stayed for a week in le Chateau, ourselves, 5 children ,3 in-laws, 6 grandchildren and 3 dogs. We managed to sort out the sleeping arrangements to everyones satisfaction and it was so exciting to stay in such an old Chateau. The secluded situation provided ideal freedom for the children and dogs.We enjoyed fishing ( although failed to catch a carp), playing pool, games and the cinema room. The swimming pool was the main attraction for most especially the pool-party - celebrating a 10yr old birthday - comment from the 6yr old "it was the best day of my life" Other comments: "It was so lovely nothing negative except more mugs needed." "I thought it was brilliant, the chap who was on site was excellent" "Amazing accommodation and facilities, would definitely recommend . Relating to a review I read - not luxury but its authenticity offers so much more. Lovely places nearby if you can tear yourself away. So sad it was only one week.

We had a wonderful stay at Bruno and Veronique's. The hosts were very welcoming and available. We received some great tips for visiting the city and the area. Plus, the mansion is exceptional. We received a very interesting tour of the place. The room matched the description. The bed was comfortable. The very hearty breakfast. In short, I highly recommend it.

A very nice weekend in this peaceful and comfortable room, which allowed us to escape for a weekend. Pierre is very considerate and welcoming, we both enjoyed our stay at the castle!
