House vacation rentals in Burke County

I wish we found this spot sooner! We have been coming to the area since 2021 and we rented this space for 4 days to get us through lacrosse playoffs and graduation (LR). It was convenient, clean, and beautiful! Highly recommend evolve’s properties! This is the second one we’ve rented this spring and they do not disappoint!

The house had everything we needed in the kitchen and living areas. The boat dock was very well equipped with kayaks and easy to dock a rental boat. We had easy access to the lake. It has a wonderful, large dining table. We enjoyed the screened porch! The pool pavilion next store was lovely and very convenient. Jake was a very responsive host through the whole process. The information about things to do was very complete and helpful.

WONDERFUL. Mark and Kimberly really set the bars with the home and communication! They were quick to respond always helpful! The home was beautiful it was just what we needed! We were only 15 min from downtown Morganton but still got to experience the mountains with the location. 10/10 we will definitely be booking again!

Overall, the stay at Blind place was great! House was clean, location was great, and Blin was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The hike down to the water is challenging and accurately portrayed in the listing. Be prepared for a steep ascent when you’re done on the water.

Had the pleasure to rent this property for a family extended weekend. The house could not have been more perfect. Great layout, well equipped kitchen, very clean and well appointed. There was easy access to the lake with a wonderful two story dock which provided cover for extended stays down at the water. Very peaceful and quiet location on the lake. A gem.

We had a wonderful ladies weekend here. The house was beautiful and the the surroundings were so peaceful. We enjoyed sitting at the dock and kayaking. The house was spotless and had everything we needed for the weekend. We would love to come back again in the future.

This was our first time to Lake James and we are definitely coming back! The house was absolutely beautiful and perfect for our needs. It was very clean and had everything in great supply. Like others have written, the house is bigger than the pics let on. Susan was proactive with making sure we had the address, codes, etc before we arrived and very responsive if we had a question. All in all, it was a great time with the family!

Nice, last minute weekend getaway for us! The house is very spacious and clean. The pool was very relaxing and the scenic view was amazing. The perfect place for my girls getaway! We didn’t leave the property because it was beautiful and there was so much to do. We had such a relaxing weekend and I would ABSOLUTELY recommend staying here again. Liz is also a wonderful communicative host!

Sela’s place was ideal for our sisters’ getaway! It was easy to find and not far off the interstate. We especially loved the quiet, country setting and watching the birds each morning from the living room window. The house was very clean, everything worked as it should, and the beds were comfy! It was particularly warm for early November and we appreciated having screened windows we could open and ceiling fans in each room. The living room had plenty of comfortable seating. Honestly, there is nothing I would recommend for improvement. Sela thought of everything. With 3 women there, I appreciated having plenty of toilet paper, and not the cheap kind either. This quiet, safe, peaceful spot is ideal for a getaway and all 3 sisters give it 5 ⭐️

We had a party of 6 and had an incredible time here. The house is beautiful and surrounded by nature. It was private as well and we were able to make use of all the amenities. Not too far of a drive from restaurants, groceries, or whatever you may need to make it feel like home.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Amazing Little Magnolia. Clean, comfortable home with lots of amenities. Freddy was helpful and provided clear communication.

Host was very responsive. Not anything that is their fault and they gave good directions but it’s a little confusing just due to the hurricane destroying access to get to the property. Otherwise it was a quiet neighborhood a great location. And they gave awesome recommendations for local things to do. We came for the hiking but did so many things locally. I would book again for sure!

It's a nice place to stay; it's not expensive, quiet, and clean.

My family and I recently stayed at Corinne’s place for Christmas as my mom lives nearby. It was a perfect Airbnb for us - absolutely beautiful house and views, plenty of space, kitchen and laundry were ideal. We did not use the sauna or the downstairs but they looked great too. Internet was fast and beds were comfy too. We hope to stay again when visiting family!

Serenity Summit is a mountain gem! The 4 bedrooms are spaced out across the house and there are three living spaces to relax in. Open kitchen with everything we needed. Hosts were so kind and responsive to our questions and needs. There was plenty of parking space for our family coming together for our daughter’s wedding. The home is located in a gorgeous gated community with incredible views of the mountains. But…..If your husband’s dress shirt, as Father of the Bride, wasn’t packed and you realize the night before at 9:40pm…..FYI the closest Walmart is 37 minutes away and thankfully doesn’t close until 11:00. We definitely plan to come back in warmer weather to enjoy the incredible outdoor living areas at the house and the lake in the neighborhood. Thank you for your hospitality Victoria!

Adrianne's response was quick! Nice place to stay for the money. Just can't understand why many would want to come to this area for vacation. Adrianne's place was adequate and performed well for my work crew that built my house.

Such a beautiful home and a wonderful place for a family weekend retreat to Lake Jackson State Park and participate in the Fonta Flora 50K. The home is so cozy, and enjoyable. Space to gather together and also retreat away to relax and read a book or nap. The deck and dock space are amazing!!! Hosts were so friendly and welcoming. We are already planning our next visit to their home.

Great place, clean, seems like it was recently renovated. Beds were comfortable and was the perfect spot for our visit.

I loved this house and location. It was great for an extended stay with family. There was space for everyone and things to do around the house to keep you busy. The sheds with the game room and workout room were great! The view and yard was beautiful! I loved that they had cleaning products and detergent and dishwasher tabs for us to use without limiting that. We had two things that needed to be fixed during our stay, but the response time and respect of privacy was great!! Given we were there for 2 weeks I was sad to leave! I would return.

Second stay. Wonderful place for larger groups/families. Winds knocked power lines down & small fire started. Brittany not only messaged me to make sure we were okay, she also sent her dad over to check on us! Can’t ask for a better host. This is home away from home.

This was our third stay at Lake James and this house had the best view by a wide margin. We had a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. The place was a great fit for our family. Bruce always responded in a timely fashion. If this house is available for our next trip to NC, we would definitely book this house again.

Everything was beautiful and a peaceful stay with family. Brittany was always quick to respond! The listing stated a hot tub, and we were a bit disappointed to find it in not working condition - but after talking with our lovely host, we were able to come to an agreement! We recommend this place for anyone looking to getaway for the weekend! Perfect for larger families, and so much to do in the area! Like Tubing, Ice Skating, Skiing, Snowboarding, and Hiking! 10/10!

We had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb! The location was perfect—just a short drive to scenic hiking trails and local wineries. The home was spotless upon arrival, and we especially appreciated the incredibly comfortable king bed and excellent water pressure in both showers. Thoughtful touches like fresh eggs, coffee, and bottled water made us feel right at home. The host’s recommendations for local restaurants were spot-on and much appreciated. To top it all off, the house is surrounded by beautiful scenery that added to the relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend
