Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Bowness-on-Windermere

Only negative is that we couldn't stay for longer! We stayed in the Garden room for 1 night at the end of our trip to the Lakes but will definitely be returning when we're back in the area. Beautiful and quiet surroundings, perfect for our springer spaniel - the dog blankets were extra helpful to have! Thanks again 😊

Lovely stay in a traditional Cumbrian farmhouse. Tranquil surroundings and a nice comfortable room. Hannah made us feel very welcome and served us a fantastic breakfast exactly when we needed it.

Me and a group of friends stayed here over Easter and it was the most incredible place. Anton and Penny were so helpful and lovely. The complimentary breakfast and food at the pub was so delicious and the yurt was so cosy, clean and well put together. Would definitely come back to this Airbnb. Penrith was a 15 minute drive away and the village was very picturesque. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting a relaxing stay with some very helpful hosts

First time to the Lakes District and we found Sarah & Dan very accommodating and informative. Good location to lots of destinations and breakfast was a great way to start the day.

As soon as you walk in to this guest house you know it is run with love and real enthusiasms for the whole place. It is very homely, clean place, run by lovely owner. My room was very cozy and clean. Comfy bed and as a bonus little fridge in the room! I was visited in very hot weather and it was very welcome addition in the room. I think all accommodations should have little fridges in they room. Really handy. The guest house offer huge selection of fresh, home made cakes (the coconut and raspberry crumble is AMAZING!) also the home made jams, you can purchase and reception are lovely. Defo get at least one jar. Breakfast was lovely and exactly as I ask. Lovely, fresh, proper coffee set me off for the day in Lakes. Guest house is only few minutes drive from Hodbarrow Lighthouse. Do not miss it. Very lovely! I will be happy to visit anytime again. x

Great hospitality as usual from Ken & Cindy, the house is spotless and the rooms are comfortable and well equipped. They’ve done a great job adapting to COVID and maintaining a comfortable and enjoyable place to stay. They serve a delicious breakfast that sets you up for the day. One of the highlights is the location of Denehurst on a quiet road with good street parking and lies equidistant between Windermere & Bowness so plenty going on, places to eat etc. Thanks again, look forwards to next time.

The Priory was a great stopover for one night: it was comfortable and warm and had everything we needed. We ate in the café twice, once for tea and once for the breakfast; we had delicious meals both times and were made to feel very welcome by the staff. Scorton is a great village and we hope to visit again to stay longer.

A warm welcome and very clean and comfortable accommodation. Delicious cooked breakfast with home made preserves. Just a short walk into town and a 15 minute walk uphill to Castlerigg stone circle. Thanks for a great stay!

Absolutely amazing place to stay, with an old-school character. Very old building with brilliantly authentic interior, which keeps its own long history and secrets😉. It's a Lancashire hidden (or not so hiden) gem. Literally everything, from the Hosts welcoming attitude to the way the rooms and the entire house are presented, makes you feel yourself like in a hide away from modern cyber age back to victorian and even renaissance times. Thanks a lot for everything, Kevin and Maria! Hope to stay at The Homestead again this year.

This is a wonderful place - top marks all round! The room was amazing -clean, warm and spacious and had a very really comfortable bed. The bathroom was modern with a great shower, and warm towel rail heater. Facilities in the room to make hot drinks, and a fridge in the hallway to store cold food/drinks. A beautiful place in a beautiful setting, but also really easy to find not far off the main road, however far enough to be peacefully quiet. Even a torch provided in the drawer - which was perfect for my early morning dark start for the 3 Peak Challenge! The hosts are extremely welcoming and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. They catered extremely well for my gluten free diet - which is very important to me. I would definitely recommend this place to others, and I hope I get to stay there again another time! Lovely stay at the George and Dragon. It was easy to find and had parking. Unfortunately the restaurant was booked up but we could order take away pizza. The pub was very lively with a good atmosphere.

Great location between Bowness and Windermere , the room was lovely and had everything you could possibly need for a short stay. Breakfast was cooked to order and extremely tasty + there was fresh continental in addition. The health club access was a real bonus too if you just want to relax.

Great stay with Tony and his cat Smudge. Peaceful and private, with helpful recommendations for local amenities. Loved his pottery so much I even bought a piece as a souvenir! Would recommend. Perfect location.

I arrived earlier than check in just to advise that I was actually there and was not a no show due to me not returning till late that night. I was given my keys and had immediate access to the room and a quick drink in the bar before I went to do my thing . A lovely place to come home to with friendly locals in the bar while I was having a nightcap :-)

We had a wonderful stay. Beautiful surroundings, quiet and peaceful with walks on the doorstep and close to some great restaurants. The place is clean and tastefully decorated. And best of all, Liz was such a wonderful host, serving delicious breakfast and gave us lots of recommendations and tailored to our interests. Would strongly recommend!

We had the most wonderful stay at Liz’s place in Crook, Windermere. From the moment we arrived, Liz made us feel completely at home. She went above and beyond to accommodate us, and the thoughtful touches she included for our toddler made such a difference—we truly felt so welcome as a family. Each morning started with the most delicious breakfast, beautifully prepared and a real highlight of our stay. The space had everything we needed and more, and Liz was always available and happy to help with anything. She is the perfect host—warm, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful. - The room and the bathroom are spacious and tidy. In particular I loved how comfortable the bed was. - Caroline and Clive serve an amazing breakfast. If the weather allows, you must enjoy it outside in their beautiful garden! - In terms of location, it doesn't get better - Hiking-routes and the lake are only 5 min away. - Overall, Caroline and Clive are very kind hosts.
