Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in West Dorset District

Really enjoyed our stay. Petra and Dick were v friendly and welcoming. Main bedroom was lovely. 2nd bedroom was tiny but single bed was v comfortable. V quiet road. This is definitely a lived in family home with lots of books, plants and ornaments. If you prefer a more like hotel experience, then look elsewhere, but we enjoyed our two night stay. Breakfast was simple (cereals, yogurt, toast, fruit etc with coffee, wide range of teas) but delicious. Was lovely to chat with our hosts about our plans each morning . Parking in central Bath is a nightmare so was lovely to leave our car parked in the street and use the bus (bus stop just across the road) to visit the town centre.

We really loved staying here - our getaways with a toddler + 2 dogs can be stressful, but this was such a great place to stay that it removed all stress. The location was peaceful and quiet, the village itself was small and walkable for the local pub and playground for our daughter. It was easy to drive to local tourist spots and all the roads were fine. The accommodation itself was comfortable and clean and had all we needed. Can’t thank our hosts enough for such a pleasant stay.

Great Airbnb - comfy beds, lovely breakfast. Belinda very friendly and helpful. Dartington village is in the middle of some beautiful countryside but only 5mins drive to Totnes.

Terry and Amanda’s place was perfect for a short break in the New Forest. They catered for us well, including getting gluten free items for my partner. Good value for money.

Fabulous location to shops, restaurants and of course the cathedral and museums. Parking in town in town centre is a plus. Very friendly host and cute dog, Daisy.

David was an excellent host. He was flexible with our check-in time which was very helpful. He also had not trouble catering for our dietary needs; coeliac (gluten free) and vegetarian. The room was very comfortable and clean, we slept very well. the bathroom was well equipped and spotless. It was great chatting to David, he's a lovely man with lots of local knowledge. Can't rate it highly enough, this was a fantastic stay.

This is my second time to Glastonbury & staying with Diana, such a great safe location less than 5 mins walk from the highstreet. felt right at home staying in Diana's can't wait to come back again next year.

We were walking the Clarendon Way, which passes right in front of Patsy’s place - so it was a perfect place for us to stop and rest before the second half of our walk. The room was spacious with a lovely little balcony. A variety of breakfast bits were available in the room and a couple of cold ones in the fridge which was much appreciated after 17 miles on foot! The bed was super soft, like a feathery cloud. Patsy and her family were really friendly and welcoming - would totally recommend!

Very nice room. I felt right at home. The house was very clean and cosy. Martin is very nice and helpful. I enjoyed the 6 weeks with him!

Me, My partner and 3 children stayed here for one night before heading to longleat safari park. The place was in immaculate condition with plenty of trinkets / games to keep the kids entertained. We had a wonderful stay! The house has a beautiful garden and a charming traditional style. Everything was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Polly is a lovely and friendly host who respected our privacy, which made us feel completely at ease. She also kindly guided us to local sightseeing spots, which helped us make the most of our trip. Every morning, she prepared a lovely breakfast for us, including fresh bread with jam, milk, almond milk, cereal, tea, and coffee. It was a perfect start to the day. Highly recommended!

Spacious and clean room, great location

Great stay, convenient location close to town which was perfect as we had car issues. Beverley was communicative and clear on everything before and throughout the stay. The house and room itself was very clean, tidy and homy. Beverley and her husband were very friendly, welcoming and generous with their kitchen and lovely garden. Pukka teas an added bonus :) It was easy to add my friend to the booking and no problem switching to 2 single beds. Although the room itself is as little on the small side for 2 with 2 beds none of this came as a surprise as Beverley explained everything clearly and nothing was a problem for us. Good value for money..Finally if you are a dog lover, Herman the Chorkie (daughters dog who visits some days) will steal your heart forever and you won't want to leave him! Lovely stay at Anna’s. The accommodation was exactly how described. Very clean & modern. The breakfast basket was an added bonus as I didn’t read that when booked. The outside area is also lovely. We will be booking again!

Darren and Chi made us feel so welcomed in their home. Breakfast was delicious and they were extremely flexible and accommodating. Their home is ideally located adjacent to a stairway leading into Bournemouth Upper Gardens and about a 16 min jog to Bournemouth main pier/beachfront. Perfect if you're looking for a weekend away on the coast!

We had a delightful stay with Clive and Angie. They are very welcoming guests. The room with en suite was perfect for our needs, and made for an affordable weekend visiting the New Forest and Bournemouth. The room was bright and spotlessly clean, with some thoughtful touches. We also enjoyed cereals, fresh fruit, toast and preserves, fresh juice and a good pot of tea for our breakfast. Home from home! The recommendation to visit Friars Cliff on our way home was perfect. Thank you for welcoming us into your home. We would love to visit again.

I arrived tired after driving through lashing rain. I was made to feel immensely welcome. Everything was very fine indeed and Rachel had put a lot of thought into providing everything needed for a comfortable stay.

I stayed with Avril for one night and she is a very good host. The place was spotless, and in my room, which had a lockable door, I had tea and coffee making facilities, plus use of the main kitchen, for which she had bought me bread to toast for breakfast, as well as some chocolate filled buns. It's now my go to place to stay whenever I visit the area.

Ian and Wilma were the perfect hosts, the house was spotless and quite beautiful. We have no complaints whatsoever, thank you both, oh and the Lobster Pot in Portland was spot on.
