We loved staying with Helen at the Bealey eco lodge. The setting is breathtaking and Helen’s cosy lodge was the perfect place to explore the area from. Helen is a super friendly host with a remarkable knowledge of the region. We’d recommend this stay for anyone traveling through the area looking for an off-grid experience

We absolutely loved our stay at Waikonini Homestead! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with tea and cake, setting the tone for a truly delightful experience. We stayed one night in ‘Owen’s Room’, and as no other guests were booked during our visit, the homestead felt wonderfully tranquil. The warm, cozy bed made for an incredibly comfortable night, and the meals were a perfect finish to the night. Dinner (prebooked) featured a fish pie, followed by a mince tart with homemade custard—comfort food at its very finest. Mary, our host, truly made the experience unforgettable. Her warm hospitality and engaging conversations about travel, dogs, and life made us feel completely at home. And her delightful Corgis, Peppi and Anne—oh, they were absolutely adorable! The homestead itself is a treasure—an elegant old home surrounded by stunning grounds that invite you to relax and explore. The perfect blend of timeless charm and modern comfort.

such a welcoming host. we stayed in the main house with the hosts. they put on a lovely simple breakfast, with a bitnof a yarn with John. so friendly, hospitable, and warm. we highly recommend to stay with this host as they're part of the history of Fox Glacier township.

The accommodation is very warm, clean and tidy, consistent with the description. The director is very warm and thoughtful. It is a very good accommodation experience.

Probably our favorite stay of our whole trip. It’s hard to top feeding their pet goat and seeing a rainbow over the beautiful farm. John and Kirsty were amazing! 10/10

This is the most special place we stayed in our 4 weeks in New Zealand. The lodge feels absolutely like home and casts a spell you will never forget. Pete was a such a warm and funny presence—always ready with a quip or a laugh. The room we had, and the main house, are beautifully designed and the interiors are warm, authentic and serene. Extremely comfortable bed and top notch bathroom facilities. You will definitely want to stay longer than whatever time you have booked.

Tranquil countryside views Sue was an amazing host Our wedding weekend was superb and having a place to stay that we felt comfortable coming and going was such a bonus . Excellent location. Easy walk along a river into core area. Karen and Rob are exceptional hosts. They saved a parking space for me and made me feel right at home. Rob even walked with me a bit to get me headed in right direction. Clean and comfortable. Only had one night with them, but would go back in a heartbeat.

This was my second stay with Karen. I'm a solo, senior female and her space is ideal. Clean, cozy, perfectly situated and very reasonable. And Karen is a great host. Highly recommend it for a solo female traveller.

Spent the most peaceful and cosy night at Bron and Drew’s place. I arrived just before sunset so had a beautiful view out the window and lots of time watching and interacting with all the animals who come right up to greet you. Bron and Drew were incredibly welcoming and kind, i had everything I needed in the room (and the bathroom a short walk to the main house), and loved how much character their place has. Very special - wish I could have stayed another day!

Our stay was absolutely splendid! Dean and Carol were wonderful hosts – so welcoming and friendly. Dean even prepared us breakfast, which was such a lovely touch. My partner really enjoyed chatting with them, and we all felt right at home. Truly appreciated the hospitality and really enjoyed our stay!

Brilliant hosts fantastic place. Briar and Shaun are extremely welcoming and make you feel right at home in their beautiful house. They provide great advice and suggestions on what to do based on your preferences both locally and further afield. We had really great conversations and Briar makes really good cakes! As a guest you have access to the lounge area so can relax and make yourself at home. Definitely happy to recommend

Sue and John are warm, welcoming, friendly, bright people. Location, accommodations and setting are top drawer, with great attention to creature comforts. Being able to do laundry a bonus. Breakfast tasty and conversation interesting and open. Kiwi hospitality at its finest!

Lovely place in a perfect location. Had a great breakfast while chatting with some fellow travellers. Easy walk to the botanic gardens, museums and shops, yet the B&B feels tucked away and cozy.

I made beautiful memory there. Place: The garden is far more spacious than the pictures. and you can see stars and the moon when it’s clear:) Room: There is a fridge in the room! You can find everything you need. Host: Ron took me for a night walk in the garden at night, and we saw the moon and stars. The moon was full moon at the night, that was beautiful experience! Anne was also lovely, she’s always caring about me. They are very approachable and beautiful:) If I get the chance back to nz again, I really love to see them!!

We had the large room, and it had a super king-size bed. The bed is very comfortable and the lined great. The bathroom is small but clean and functional, with luxurious towels. There is a little table with 2 chairs where we ate our continental breakfast. We chose the details from a menu given to each of us. Our host, Julie, left our breakfast outside our door at the time we stated. There is a small fridge in the room with tea and coffee making facilities. It's a lovely old house with bedrooms upstairs. Julie has thoughtfully decorated the home with bits and bobs, wallpaper and furniture of the era. We ate at Miss Saigon, which is a fantastic Vietnamese restaurant within walking distance!! And then watched TV lying on the bed .

A great place to stay with a lovely host - Catherine is very friendly and welcoming. She picked me up and dropped me off again at the train station for my further travel which was really helpful! Thanks for having me!

This is a unique and bona fide Boutique BnB! You’ll want to spend some time just exploring the antiquity and treasures in Dalkeith BnB, where you’ll find all kinds of treasures! The bed and linens are heavenly, along with the ensuite bathroom, the breakfasts were glorious and the care & attention Julie the host, extends is brilliant! Great location, everything walkable, Kaiapoi Museum is phenomenal, along with all amenities nearby. I loved staying here, the property’s gardens are glorious and 4 nights went by so fast! Very well priced and best BnB I have experienced. Kaiapoi is a little gem of a town not to be missed!

First time we have stayed in someone’s house on AirBNB so it took a bit of getting used to for us, but our hosts were very welcoming and very considerate. They booked us into a local spot for dinner and helped us get oriented in the area. Place is exactly as described.
