Bring the whole family (or two) to our lake in mid coast Maine! This year round home is in a peaceful setting yet close to coastal towns of Belfast and Camden. Enjoy a paddle around the lake with our kayaks, canoe or simply hang out on the dock. The clean lake is an angler’s dream. We are set up for the youngest (crib, toys, swings)to the oldest ( one step into first floor, bedroom directly across from bathroom). Fall and winter stays bring even more quiet and respite from the outside world.

This home is in a country setting on Hatchet Mountain in Hope near the beautiful Maine coast and about 8 miles from Camden. About a mile from our home, is Hobbs Pond (2 miles long!) with public access for swimming, boating and kayaking. Hiking trails surround us, too! Beaver Lodge, a favorite spot for weddings and other family events, is also nearby. This listing has an exemption for all animals. For safety reasons, it may not be suitable for young children.

The property is 4 acres and very private; the road is walled off by a thick border of foliage. Behind us is only woods and there are miles of lovely nature trails accessed from the bottom of our field. It's only a 2 mile drive to the center of town Enjoy!

Dan's cottage provided everything that the three of us needed for our weekend stay. We enjoyed a walk on the nearby beach, and were able to explore the city of Belfast, which is charming and artsy. If we'd had more time we would have checked out more restaurants, galleries, and shops. There was a great food co-op in town where we picked up meals and snacks for cozy dinners and board games at the cottage. The beds were comfy, the place was clean, and it was about a one hour drive to Acadia National Park where we spent most of our time while we were in Maine.

Our hosts were very responsive, provided a compilation of restaurants and "things to see and do" in the area - a very useful guide. Our stay in Sharon’s camp overlooking Halfmoon Pond was wonderful. It was peaceful, the setting beautiful and the camp equipped with everything, and more than, we needed. We had plenty of towels, linens, blankets. The kitchen was well equipped. We cooked one to two meals a day and had everything we needed. We never needed or wanted anything that Sharon didn’t have. Sharon was a great host. She checked in with us, quickly offered a solution when mother nature created an issue, offered suggestions on places to eat, shared where we could find the closest grocery store, and, most importantly, created a comfortable home away from home. It’s a little slice of Heaven that we wouldn’t hesitate to stay at again, and again and again. [We visited from a small town in East Tennessee near the Great Smoky Mountains.]

This adorable addition to the family’s quaint farmhouse was cozy, warm and immaculately clean. Every detail was spot on. Kitchen was fully functional, as if you were in your own home. Luxurious linens and towels. Bed was very comfortable. Met all of our expectations and more! Beautiful property and close to Camden Harbour.

Great person, she really went over and above what she would have been expected. The dock with boats were great, my boys love the lake. The place was clean and very well decorated. Lots of extra appliances. Washer and dryer is very nice when you are on a lake. Nothing to complain about. If you stay here and especially if you have kids you will be very happy.

Overall, Deb's place is very nice and served well as a home away from home. It was the best Airbnb that I've ever rented. The neighborhood is quiet and the road that runs by the house has little traffic (it's a dead-end). The kitchen was well stocked with appliances. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious. It takes 10 min to get to downtown Camden. On the downside, the furnace had just broken before we got there and so it got a little cool. Further, we could not get the jacuzzi to work and the flooring is a little beat up. But, the positives drastically outweighed the negatives.

Spenser's place was pretty perfect for our needs. Loved the hot tub, lots of towels, lots of kitchen supplies and room for the 7 of us. Would suggest have a few more chairs for the dining room since the home can fit 8 people. We just took a chair from the deck, which was fine. There were a lot of flies just hanging out with us, a few lady bugs too. The many flies were slow, so easy to catch. But still 5 stars! Thanks so much!
