Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Vembanad Lake

There are 3 rooms situated on the 1st floor, I had the chance to get the one with a big balcony facing the main street. It was extremely clean, nice and bright and its windows-doors had very useful mosquito screens. There was a comfortable double bed, a ceiling fan and aircon (really needed during my stay), a small desk and a little suspended ‘cupboard’ for the clothes and a modern beautiful private bathroom. There’s a fridge on the 1st floor that guests can use and of course, an available equipped kitchen. Very well located, the whole apartment is well thought (a recent construction), you notice that Colbridge and his wife Shalini care about their home stay business; they are a good team, pretty well organized working together. Colbridge, the brain of the hospitality services, sent me through whatsapp dozens of information related to history, places to visit and food. He is very knowledgeable (not only about Kochi) and it was good to exchange with him. Besides, he can help you to organize trips, call a tuk tuk and find solutions for your queries. Shalini is the heart of the place… she is welcoming, warm, intelligent and sweet, with a great sense of humour. A gifted cook, she prepares wonder ful breakfasts (Indian, European, American…), tailored to requests. I admired how she cared about guest’s well-being even when she was very busy. Shalini likes to exchange with her hosts and she gave me an unique opportunity to learn more about the culture. She is a very good company too, I will not forget all our laughters and hope to stay with them again. I fully recommend this place for your stay.

Varun’ place was a well-run small hotel right on the shore of the backwaters in Kerala. There was a pool, many different areas to relax with a book. Canoes were available to paddle down stream. Varun was very helpful in arranging transportation for us, recommending activities and pointing us in the direction of a special art biennale which happened to be taking place in Kochi while we were there. The restaurant had a nice blend of Indian, continental with vegetarian options. We are planning on staying here on our next trip and highly recommend it. Gregory and Michèle

A very nice place to be still permeated with the charm of the former family home it had once been. Original woodwork on the Verandas & the floors incl the furniture. A peaceful and tranquil inner court where very good Indian food is served. Staff is really very friendly & keen on taking care of everyrhing one might need. One is right in the center of Fort Kochi but enjoys the calm of a mansion in the countryside.

It’s a simple stay with basic amenities which is worth the price, Sheeba is very responsive, friendly and upto the point. She also provided us Breakfast without any extra price which is very nice of her and also agreed to a small personal favour. I’d recommend this property to anyone who’s up for a budget friendly and looking for something which is near to prominent places as well!

Both the property and the host were quite nice, and we faced no hassles. All the amenities were as described, and we felt right at home. The property is private and gated within a residential area at the heart of Fort Kochi and at a walkable distance from all tourist attractions there. ~ The area has a lot of mosquitoes, though, so be prepared for that in advance.

Mary Grace and JL were fantastic hosts. We stayed for 3 days and I would fully recommend this place. She made us great breakfast, suggested a few wonderful eating places, arranged taxis and even helped us get our clothes washed. Her husband fixed my and my mother's glasses free of charge. It was a very easy and relaxed atmosphere and we made other friends there as well. Thanks Mary Grace and JL for your hospitality.

Sajeer was extremely friendly. we were stuck in traffic, waiting for a ferry ride to cross the river but due to Christmas influx we had to wait for more than 2.5 hours in queue. Sajeer has been giving directions in the phone what we should be doing and he even offered to bring food for us. When we checked in, he was very friendly, the process was quick and easy. The bfadt served was quite humble, tasty and home cooked. The location is very near to a lot of good places to visit. 100% recommended stay!

My father and I had such a lovely stay here! Beautifully clean rooms, a wonderful welcome and a delicious breakfast. Also the best night’s sleep we’ve had in India yet. Thoroughly ecommended!

Host was amazing,really humble people. Very tasty home cooked food. It was a great stay. Whole family was really friendly and helpful. Food is must try . Location is also great walking distance from beach.

Female travelling alone in India and fear not, the people here made me feel so safe and welcome. The constantly smiling cleaning lady , Edison for his amazing knowledge, Prakash for tending to everything & helping me plan my trip to Munnar, and the chef, my god the food was amazing!!! the beach is within 10 minutes swimming in swimwear (women) possible the family is very welcoming and available at any time to inform and accompany. Jimmy gave me my itinerary and made himself available to answer my questions before I arrived in less than 10 minutes Emily moved to Alleppey Station to show the way to the rickshow. Upon arrival, the whole family welcomed me warmly with a smile Rita makes good food from Kerala and adapts to my needs... to be enjoyed absolutely.!! The places are clean and very spacious what a pleasure to have spent these few days at this guesthouse. i would come back without hesitation

The stay at judit home was a special wonderful experience. The property is located in the middle of nature and yet close to the nearest town. Judit was always very helpful in organizing day trips. If you are looking for pure relaxation in nature, this is the place for you. The father of judit has a very good knowledge of agriculture and the mother is a great cook. The kerala cuisine was unique. There is a very friendly atmosphere in the house

This is quite simply the best homestay we have ever visited (we are seasoned travellers and have stayed in many). Laiju, Rani and their 2 daughters Leona and Ceona are the most welcoming hosts we have encountered during our 3 month visit to India. We had the pleasure of spending 2 weeks with them and were welcomed into their home from day one as family rather than guests. Their home is spotlessly clean, large and airy with lots of outside space to relax. The bedroom is very big and the A/C an absolute must. Rani is an excellent cook and provided us with varied and copious breakfasts and evening meals. She is very attentive of guests’ culinary requirements and spice level (we love spicy food but Rani would have happily reduced the spice level had we wanted). Meals are taken with the family which adds to the homely touch. All the family speak good English and are well educated - we had many evenings discussing our different cultures. Our main reason for visiting Allepey was for me to have a 2 week ayurvedic massage treatment - Laiju arranged this for me and even reserved a tuk tuk for me for the 2 week period. Whenever there were any local events taking place, we were invited to join the family to attend. We joined the family for a beautiful picnic on a remote island (food, of course, prepared by Rani). An added bonus in India - Laiju serves ice cold beer!! We will definitely return here and would highly recommend this little gem to all.

This property is like a paradise, Truly Angels ' home. Privacy is the main speciality of this homestay, This is very calm and quiet place , birds sounds in the morning and evening touch our mind and feel like we are in a jungle. Here clean and neat rooms and the house owner Mr.Edward and his lady staff are very helpful in need. Speed internet wifi available here. Loud speaker / blooth loud speaker is not allowed here to avoid disturbance to other guests. Most of the guests are foreigners. This is not beach front property, but only just walkable distance ( 300 metre. )to the beach. Definitely we will come again.

We stayed at this beautiful place for days when we were travelling in Kerala. The house is nested up next to the beach in a very peaceful location. This homestay is hosted by a couple who were always on their toes to help during the stay. Welcome drink was a nice gesture and delicious breakfast was complimentary. All I have to say is that, the stay was amazing! Couldn’t have asked for a better stay close to Marai beach. Thanks for hosting us!

Sinu’s place was spectacular. As a host he is very responsive and great at communicating. He gives a-lot of time and effort in attending the guests personally which is impressive and important when you come for an experience in an offbeat place like this amazing beach place. Was able to do a-lot of activities learnt a-lot about the place because of him. The property stands out, neat clean and easy to reach. The cooks there is a gem and the staff is so helpful and friendly Overall worth every single penny!

It's a nice new house. Very neat and clean. Host stays in the ground floor and all the three rooms are on the first floor. There is spacious living room and balcony in the front and back, both with scenic views. Vijeesh is a good host who is always available on call and very helpful. He also offers tasty home made food at an additional but nominal charge. This place is highly recommendable and we will love to come back again in the future.
