A truly stunning and tranquil location! Giulio and Gianluca met us on arrival and immediately made us so welcome. Our room was spotlessly clean and luxurious with character and lovely attention to detail. Konrad, the very talented and passionate chef, treated us to some incredible and imaginative delights on the tasting menu, whilst Gianluca explained each dish and accompanying glass of wine with detail and enthusiasm. Don't be concerned about the drive up. Take your time and enjoy the view, it's worth it!

A very nice place, just as seen in the photos, everything is very clean and cozy. The room is in front of the church, do not get scared with the bells at 8 am.

Loved our stay at il bastione, jacopo and his family were very kind and the food they cooked up for breakfast (and the additional, yet outstanding dinner) was delicious to say the least. The entire property was beautiful, with expansive views and a great central location to visit nearby towns such as spello and Assisi. The road to the property was pretty intense, especially if driving a manual vehicle, but manageable and necessary to enter such a peaceful and secluded property. I would absolutely recommend staying here.

This place is amazing. We loved the areas where you could relax and enjoy the views throughout the day. The pool area is beautiful with fantastic views down and across to the hills. We wish we were still there! The room was really good and the bed was comfortable. There was a nice seating area for each of the stable rooms so that you could enjoy the panoramic view. Breakfast was great and the evening meals were particularly amazing. There is a lot to eat! For €28.50 a head you will get wine, antipasti, soup, primi, secondi, dessert and coffee/liquor. I just sat there shaking me head because I was loving the taste of every one of the fresh dishes that came. Jacopo, has father, and the staff there do a very very good job of looking after you in this amazing place that is full of history
