The accommodation is located on a country farm, a 5-minute drive from the center of Volterra. After Porta Diana, take a short stretch of the Municipal road of S. Margherita until you reach a dirt road, the sign Bosco dell'Iris Nero leads you, along a 900-meter path, to the location. Here there are chestnut trees, olive trees, flowers and a pleasant view of the valley. You can meet roe deer, porcupines and wild boars. The cuckoo, the hoopoe, and the woodpecker inhabit the surrounding forest.

The former FS roadman's house is about 60 m from a railway line and we, Marzia and Arturo, live on the ground floor. In our B&B, in the morning with good weather, a good breakfast awaits you outside with bread and homemade jams.
