Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Tōkai Region

We loved our stay at Masa’s place. It’s authentic Japanese house, well located and very comfortable. We were Teo families - 8 people total (4 adults and 4 teenage kids) and it was enough space for everyone. Masa was very responsive and even came in late on the first night to accommodate our request. Matsumoto castle is a 12’ walk from the house and the main shopping street with many cafes 5-7’ walk. We felt right at home, yet very Japanese :). Matsumoto is a highlight of our trip to Japan in large part due to a unique home we stayed in. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Masa!

3日間お世話になりました。 すっかりリフレッシュする事が出来ました。 初めてairbnbを利用しましたが、本当に来て良かったです。 バーベキュー、サウナ、ロケーション等の設備もさることながら、備品の細やかさに個人的に感心しました。 クッションソファー、寝袋、カウチチェアや、たくさんあるサンダルなど。 ちょっとした事ですが、これらのおかげでストレスを感じずに楽しめました。 本当にありがとうございました。

We had a perfect stay here. The house was very comfortable and had everything you would need. This was the first listing I think I could actually live. We visited 3 nights with my wife and 1,5 year old daughter. Plenty to do in the area, either closeby or an hour driving away. The host was super kind, very quick to respond on any questions we had and gave tips during our stay. Absolutely recommend this place.

洗練されたナチュラルな内装で こんな家に住みたいなぁと思う素敵な空間でした。 客室、キッチン等水回りがとても綺麗で、 またエアコン・ヒーター等が各部屋にあり快適でした。 自然豊かで静かな場所に建っていて、 居るだけでリフレッシュでき、 良い時間を過ごすことができました！

とても丁寧にご対応いただきました。 インテリアも綺麗で、海も近くにあり、素晴らしい宿泊体験ができました。

大人数を想定されているログハウスですが2人でも全然楽しめました！写真通りの建物に着いた時には感動します。機会があればまた利用させていただきたいと思います！

First time try to use the Japanese style hearth, such a great experience! DIY toriyaki using the hearth is so delicious! We bought raw chicken from the store recommended by the host. It is simply the best chicken I cooked! The host is very easy to communicate and very patient!

Kimiko is very friendly and helpfull. She let me do early check in. It was very helpfull for me because I just landed to Japan after 7 hour trip from singapura to Japan at mid night, and I couldn't sleep well in the plane. Landed at 7 am and I really need some rest. I arrived at 12 pm and Kimiko let me early check in. It was help me a lot. And the room, "Oh my God, I love it!!" It felt like home and it's beyond my expectation. I will stay again here if I go to tokyo again.

Cet appartement est extraordinaire. Quelle propreté, tout est bien indiqué et très bien équipé. Tout près de la gare, tout près du centre historique. Nous recommandons à 100% cet appartement idéal pour un court séjour ! Merci pour cet accueil chaleureux !

전철역에서 가깝고 모든 관광지가 전철로 다 가까운 거리 내에 있어서 매우 편안했습니다. 주위도 조용해서 아주 좋았어요! 가족 여행이라 일본 호텔보다 여유로운 공간을 선호해서 이용하기에 아주 편안했습니다. 간단히 해 먹을 수도 있고 깨끗하고 좋았어요.

Great location, very easy access to city centre shopping dining. 納涼牀grade patio, great for breakfast and night drinks. Lots of cool air, no need for ac on summer. Host Ken quick response and service. Can help book restaurants.

소통이 굉장히 삐르고 숙소 컨디션 좋습니다.

想像以上に駅から近くて、子連れの長旅で疲れていたので歩く距離が短くて助かりました。3階まで階段しか無いので、荷物が重い人や、乳幼児連れだと大変だと思いますが、うちは1泊だけで荷物は少なく、子供達も小・中学生なのでまったく苦になりませんでした。 中に入るとピカピカにリノベーションされており、おしゃれなアート作品も飾られていて、青を基調としたインテリアが爽やかで素敵でした。浴槽が無く、シャワーが２室並んでいるのが面白いですね。家電も色々揃っているし、食器もたくさんあり、何も不自由なく長期滞在できそうです。 結構古い建物なので窓ガラスが薄いみたいで、窓を閉じていても寒気が入ってくる感じがしました。夜中冷えたので、もっと暖かい羽毛の掛け布団か毛布があったら更に良かったと思いました。敷布団(マットレス)はポコポコしていてとても寝心地が良かったです。 チェックアウトの日がちょうど燃えるゴミの日だったので、8時半頃に歩道のゴミ収集場に行ったらもう回収済みで、その後1日中ゴミを持ち歩くことになってしまいました。玄関のドアに、ゴミは8時までに出してください、と書いてあったので、完全に私が悪いのですが、私が住んでいる自治体では実際に回収に来るのは書いてある時間よりも何時間も後なので、油断してしまいました。 とにかくすべてがキレイで清潔で広くて、とても快適に過ごせました。大きなテレビでYouTubeを見れたり、子供も大喜びで、こちらを選んで良かったです。ありがとうございました。

This is the best airbnb we’ve booked in Tokyo. The place was clean, complete with everything we need, and was very spacious for the 5 of us including our luggages. The host, Peter, was very responsive and helpful. Special shout out to Umid, for picking us up for easier check-in. They’ve been very kind and patient. Having a good place to return to when traveling is a must and this airbnb hit the jackpot. The only downside is probably the distance to the train station but if you enjoy walking like us, it won’t be a problem. When we go back to Tokyo, we would like to stay here again. :)

beautiful and amazing place, very quiet and calm neighborhood. 5min walking from Nara parc, perfect to enjoy it in the calm morning.

周囲や宿舎の雰囲気がとても良かったです。またBBQコンロを始め設備も豊富で、時間いっぱいまで楽しみました。加えて、レトロな宿の雰囲気に対してお風呂やトイレはしっかりと新しくて清潔でした。今後もまたぜひ利用したいです。

Staying at Matt and Maya’s beautiful home was an absolute treat! The property exceeded expectations and was a wonderful tonic after six days in Tokyo. We caught the Shinkansen to Ueda and hired a car from the station, driving was super easy and having the freedom to explore the region was brilliant. Matt gave us great ideas for day trips, we saw castles,cherry blossoms and waterfalls, played in the snow and ate great food. As a host he was always responsive and helpful and we really did feel ‘at home’. We stayed four nights but wish we had stayed longer, I highly recommend a stay at Matt and Maya’s home if you want to get out and explore the Nagano region.
