Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Takayama

100% recommend!! It was stylish no matter which space was cut, and I enjoyed the bath, card games, etc. The host was very kind and responsive, and check-in and checkout were flexible, which was very helpful.

This guesthouse is perfect in every way. We are a couple from Australia, and we wanted to go hiking and enjoy the outdoors, and stay somewhere that gave us an authentic Japanese experience. Ayano and Waku’s guesthouse gave us all this and more. We were picked up from the train station, taken to a grocery store for snacks, and given dinner and breakfast which was exceptional. The guesthouse is incredible. Modern, stylish and traditional. Our room was warm, cozy, comfortable and quiet. The bathrooms are modern and comfortable. Great hot water, great amenities. We washed our clothes in the machine every night. The downstairs area is a delight. Kitchen, dining and casual area which would be great for kids. Waku was a chef in Tokyo and the meals were seriously amazing. We spent some time walking around the local area, laying in the hammocks and reading and they drove us to some hiking areas for the day. It couldn’t have been more perfect.

It was a very stylish and cozy space.There are plenty of musical instruments, so I think it would be even more fun to stay with fellow musicians. I stayed at a time when the accommodation was hosting an event as an art gallery, so it was fun to see the exhibits.The owner is also friendly and kind, and they will take care of anything you don't understand. Recommended for those who like slow life and family⭐ trips

They went above and beyond by suggesting great nearby places to visit, which made our trip even more enjoyable. Their hospitality truly made a difference, and we highly recommend staying here. Love the location, the fireplace, the spaciousness, the outdoor garden and the beautiful shrine next to the house. The 2 slopes up to the house and the stairs are pretty steep especially with luggage but this was communicated in the description so as expected. We made some really delicious meals in the house by buying Hida beef and other groceries from Boss Foods Market. Aki was also so friendly and accommodating! Thanks for the great stay!

Very convenient accommodation! We spent the night with two couples. The fire outside allowed us to spend a very nice evening (be careful there is a surcharge). Parking is a 5-minute walk away but can be accessed by car to drop off things before going to park.

Tetsuji’s place was beautiful. My friends and I enjoyed the form and function woodwork in the traditional home. We built fires every night and cooked in the well stocked kitchen. Comfortable and clean futons and bedding. Lovely spaces, and the singing toilet upstairs was so relaxing. 12 min drive to Takiyama historic district and 40 min drive to Shiragawago. Very responsive host and gave us restaurant recommendations.
