It was a great stay, we enjoyed the time very much! :-) With four of us, we had plenty of space, the amenities were as described and we loved the pool! 😍 If there was anything to complain about, it was at most the doors - it was sometimes a bit unpleasant that the bedroom doors and the bathroom or toilet doors were not real doors. Because these rooms were all opposite each other, it was often very loud. We still enjoyed our vacation very much and would definitely come back! :-)

This property exceeded all of our expectations and the photos don’t do it justice. Clean, comfortable and extremely private. We experienced a yellow alert (severe blizzard with very strong winds) so had to stay in the house for an entire day… and it was the perfect place for that! The driveway got completely snowed in, but the caretaker was able to help dig us out and couldn’t have been kinder. We will most certainly stay here again if in the area. Communication was fast, friendly and very thorough.

This was the most wonderful little cottage, I absolutely loved my stay. The view is beautiful and everything is so peaceful. I loved walking through the village and the ferry ride was relaxing and reliable. The cottage feels like home. I am so glad I stayed three nights and could easily have stayed longer. Sitting in the hot tub at night you will get the best star show. I didn’t see aurora during my stay, but I bet that’s incredible. Bjorgvin sent very detailed and helpful directions and everything was easy.

Mountain Cottage - indoor hot tub

We had a magical couple of days at the hidden cottage. We came up to the north hoping to do some skiing with the kids. We had a beautiful drive up from Reykjavík and drove into a valley creeping into spring. We woke the next morning to a thick blanket of snow! It meant it was tricky to leave the cottage with our vehicle but the kids enjoyed a day in the snow and a bit of a hike up the valley. The cottage was clean, comfy and warm with beautiful views and we had everything we needed. The hot tub was fun. When we had to leave early the next day and were worried about the roads, Lea was extremely helpful. After a bit of snow shovelling we got on our way. The 4x4 we hired managed the main road into town no problem. We enjoyed looking around Siglufjordur on the way in and went via Akuyreyri on the way home where the kids had a fun swim and we managed to get on the slopes in the afternoon. We rented ski equipment on site. Wish we had had a couple more days to explore the towns a bit more!

Having a hilltop view of Siglufjorder was so rewarding. The hot tub (Pottur) felt fantastic after a day of hiking and skiing adventures. We had Northern Lights as well as romantic seclusion yet could walk to the town. I could stay there for a week overlooking the fjord. Magical place.

Daniel was a brilliant host, and we loved our stay there. He and Stefan were immediate and super helpful with their responses. The cabins are perfect, with amazing views of the scenery. The sauna and two hot tubs are great to watch the sunset and northern lights. The location is spectacular, which is perfect to unwind and relax in. We would highly recommend this stay.

It was the perfect quiet getaway we needed after the crowds of the southern part of the ring road. The cabin was beautiful and the view was spectacular. Getting to relax in the hot tub admiring the views and silence of nature was a key feature of our entire trip. Highly recommend.

This is the second year we have stayed at the cottage and we absolutely love it. The view from the porch in the morning with a cup of coffee is one of my favorite parts of Iceland. The cottage is cozy and has everything you need for a stay of any length. Gummi is an excellent host - kind, flexible and response. The final special touch is the hot tub. This is one of the few homes with one. So nice to relax after a day of skiing . We will be back!

Very cozy little house with a real Icelandic country feel with close neighbors. The lower bedroom is lovely, the top is more of a netting chamber for kids and small springy adults. Inga is fair and helpful. We'd love to go back anytime!

We stayed in this beautiful house for Christmas and it was magical! Kristin is the perfect host. Answering any questions I had quickly and thoughtfully. She decorated the house for Christmas with lights and a tree and even presents for my children. The house is even more lovely than the photos and the views are dreamy. The decor is modern and comfortable. The hot tub is lovely to relax in on a cold day. The house has everything you need and really feels like home from home. I was worried the house would feel cold but it is very cozy. It is about 45 minutes drive from Akureyri which is where the closest airport is. Dalvik is the nearest small town about 15 minute's away. We had the most delicious fish soup in Gisli Eirikur Helgi, a lovely small restaurant in Dalvik that I would recommend visiting! I would absolutely recommend this beautiful house to anyone wanting to visit this area. We did some amazing trips - whale watching, husky sledding, Forest Lagoon, Godafoss waterfalls.

Danìel, Stefàn and Yogi were amazing hosts, they kept in contact with us to make sure we find the place with no issues. They also informed us of the local New Year's celebration which was great.
