Swany’s beautiful home is more than an Airbnb, it’s an experience. First the setting. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a more beautiful place in the world. Looking across the fjord at the snow capped mountains, watching the boats go by and hoping for a glimpse of a humpback whale. Just incredible. Our accommodations in the main house were perfect for our family of five. The rooms were comfortable, and the bathroom was large and pristine. We had such a fun time meeting the other travelers and sharing a kitchen with fellow adventures from Canada and Australia. If Swany’s place is available for your travel dates, do yourself a favor and book it as soon as possible. I would return to Iceland specifically to go to Hauganes and Sela Retreat. We hope to return soon! Thank you to Swany for being such a lovely host and welcoming us so warmly.

Very cozy cottage! Enjoyed waking up to the Mountain View’s and animals on the property! Bathroom was clean and host provided extra towels and blankets!

Our group of four all agreed that we were very lucky to get to spend a few days at this house. The layout was cozy with plenty of room. The open kitchen/dining/living space meant that the cook/cleaner was not excluded from the conversation with the rest of the group. The kitchen was well equipped. The windows allowed for views all around and the views here are stunning, with mountains on each side and a wide flat flood plain laid out below. The beds were comfortable and the blackout curtains were welcome. The bathroom was well equipped and the shower was roomy. The sunroom with a tree and a grape vine growing inside was a lovely spot! We stayed here as a base to explore the Trollaskagi peninsula, and got an excellent recommendation from our host for a day long hike on a remote island. This place was well situated and pleasant to spend time in.

Very welcoming and attentive owner, a big thank you for letting us have the big cottage! Clean and welcoming cottage with all the necessary equipment. The home is in a nice setting! I recommend it.

Communication was 10/10 and it’s an amazing place, convenient place especially if you’re doing the ring road! You can even see the northen lights if they’re out!

This place was very nice. It is a house separated from the house where the host and their family live, so you are sharing the common spaces with other fellow travelers. The hostess was kind and accommodating, we were able to visit the lambs and watch them being fed. The location is beautiful.

Eydis and her family have welcomed us in our home, they have behaved great. We were able to share your private hot tub with a good chat about its customs and even enjoy a delicious drink there, thanks to its hospitality. I loved being able to practice German with her, she had it a little forgotten. I would highly recommend it to any traveler. Thank you!!

It was slightly off the beaten track but lovely view, and I could make friends with all her cats and dog. It was close to the horseback riding place where I spent two and a half hours before going down the road to find by place to stay for the night. Very convenient. We spent a very long time talking about lots of things. And she made a recommendation for me, since she knew which direction I was headed, that was fantastic...

Eydís’s guesthouse is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay if you find yourself in Northern Iceland! Not only was the guesthouse cozy and inviting, Eydís happily showed us around the farm and made recommendations for local activities. This is also the perfect Aurora viewing spot - there is minimal light at night over a huge valley. You should also purchase the breakfast - the homemade bread and jam was delicious! We will absolutely stay here again when we’re back in Iceland.

I stayed for one night during my long road trip and it was fantastic accommodation! Atmosphere of this place is charming. Quiet and calm place, exactly what is needed if you need to rest afer a very long road trip. Bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean. Steinunn is friendly and helpful.
