Vacation rentals with a hot tub in Iceland

Beautiful location and excellent accommodations.

Out of hundreds of rentals, this is one of my favorites. The home is only 15 minutes from a little town, but you feel like you are totally alone on the beautiful lake. We loved sitting in the hot tub and watching all the birds come and go. It’s incredibly well stocked- extra towels, great kitchen stuff, kayaks, fishing gear, laundry room, games closet, etc. There are luxuries like under floor heating, double black out curtains and several nice televisions. It kind of ruined the rest of our Iceland trip because no other home was nearly as great. Even with 4 kids, there was so much room and we all loved it.

A peaceful and private cabin surrounded by mountains and a lake. The house is beautiful and spacious. A well stocked kitchen made it easy to cook dinners and breakfast. Plenty of space for 5 adults and 1 child to spread out and relax. Thankful for such a kind, patient, responsive host!

So glad we chose Margret’s house for our stay. It was so very comfortable and private, while also being convenient to most of the Snæfellsnes peninsula. Slept well (recommend eye shades in the summer), had good hot showers in the morning, washer/dryer worked very well, and the angry artic terns only pooped on my head once but that was because I was too close to their nest and didn’t realize it. Margret herself was great to communicate with and had quick answers to all our questions. Our recommendations: - Walk the whole cliff path from Arnarstappi to Hellnar and have a bite to eat at the little cafe at the end. - Eat at Sker (Margret’s recommendation) in Ólafsvík. - Tour the lava tube. - Climb the crater. - Drive the mountain roads.

The barn house was beautifully built and decorated with spectacular views. The skylight windows were perfect for watching for the northern lights. The kitchen had all the basics and some extras like a nespresso machine and pods. We enjoyed cooking there and using the hot tub. The washer and dryer were super helpful. It was a great launching place for the Golden Circle. Stokkseyri is a cute little town with a great local pool. The turf house across the street was fun to explore as was the beach on the other side of the turf wall. It is very near Bakkahestar for highly recommended Icelandic horse rides with a local couple on the beach in Eyrarbakki. Nearby Selfoss has anything you need including an amazing fish market Fiskbud Suderlands for great prices on fresh caught local fish. Kristinn was very responsive and we loved our stay!

Our group—three middle aged women—loved our stay at Hrifunes Belvedere. The viewshed stands out as the shining star of this property, featuring rolling pastures and snowcapped mountains accompanied by the charming sounds of sheep and birdsongs. Overall, the house was very clean and well appointed with everything we needed. All beds were quite comfortable (firm), and the sofa was perfect for relaxing after a long day of adventure. We especially appreciated the expedient communication and hospitable assistance with the hot tub. I would definitely visit again!

The house was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Having a washer and dryer was a huge plus. Check-in was easy, and the location was simple to find. The views were stunning, and enjoying coffee on the deck each morning was a highlight. The drive to Reykjavik and nearby attractions was very manageable (about 30 minutes for most places we visited). One helpful tip: consider where you'll spend most of your time. We explored the southern coast mostly and didn’t fully realize how tiring longer drives would feel after full days out. This is by no means a downside to the house or its location—both were wonderful! It’s simply a helpful tip for others planning their itinerary: take travel times into consideration based on your daily plans. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and truly appreciated the comfort and beauty of this home and our host was great!

I stayed at the Hekla Comfort House with my father and brother for two nights during a 6 day trip in Iceland. My father hadn't been to Europe since the 70's and this was our first time traveling just the three of us. We loved every minute of our stay and wish we could have extended our time there. Such a lovely home and the hosts have clearly thought of every last amenity their guests may need. We drove a lot exploring the South coast and it was so wonderful to come back to this place after a long day in the car. Many thanks for sharing your special home with us!

We had a wonderful stay at the Mountain’s Villa. Beautiful, spotless and ideal for our group of 7, but it could easily accommodate 10. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, each with double beds; a common area with a sofa bed; full bathroom; balcony; and entrance to the glass dome. On the first floor, there is a great room with living area, dining area and extremely well-stocked kitchen (rare for Airbnb rental). First floor also has a bedroom with a double bed and crib and full bathroom with laundry. There was a lot of thought put into the home, from the design to the lock box for the dishwasher tablets (for child safety)—even a bowl full of “Mountain Villa” branded chocolates in the living room—such a nice touch! I wish we hadn’t booked as many hot spring visits, as we could have taken better advantage of the hot tub, cold plunge and sauna—which were lovely. My husband and I took part in the lifting stones challenge in the front lawn—and I was pleased to lift the 45 kg stone to the pedestal.

We had a great time at Sveinn's. Nice house with a beautiful bay window, a large living room and 3 comfortable bedrooms.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The home was spotless and very comfortable for 6 guests. It was the best stocked Air BnB we have stayed in over 8 years. Our host met us and guided us to the location which is a little hard to find in a rural setting. Evening walks were beautiful surrounded by flowers wherever you looked. The birds, sheep and horses made the walks even more special. We would highly recommend it to other guests. Our host was easy to communicate and always responded quickly to my questions.

Sigurdur’s place is outstanding. Easy to get to, near everything we could have needed and a short drive to many attractions. This exceeded our expectations and will stay again on our next trip.

Five stars!! The home was immaculate and there were stunning views out every window. The hot tub was a great way to start and end the day and the convenience of being able to do laundry was much appreciated. We loved being able to spend a couple days on the Golden circle and not rush. We wished we had more time as we would have enjoyed just sitting on the porch in nature and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. I highly recommend this place.

What a wonderful home. There were more than everything we ever needed. You’ve thought of everything- Mirrors in each bedroom and extra hooks through the bath and bedrooms. The sheets were amazing quality and the sitting areas were perfect for 7 ppl. We probably could have had 2 more ppl in the home comfortably. The outside area is also so nicely done. What a great way to relax after exploring all day. You thought of everything that a guest would ever need and are beyond helpful and generous. So many nice extra caring touches. Thank you!

Very nice stay, hot tub worked great, everything else as described.

The cabins sit on a road away from where reception is, and the instructions were clear to get there. The hot tub does take a while to fill up, since it is filled with geothermal spring water, but it is definitely a must in Iceland. Relaxing in the hot tub after a long day of hiking and traveling the Golden Circle was a perfect ending.

Perfect little cabin with everything you need for a comfortable stay. I would highly recommend for one or two people!

Absolutely incredible hosts - Elsa was really friendly and helpful. The kitchen was brilliant and so well equipped, we were able to cook a proper dinner and she even baked us amazing bread for our morning breakfast. There was a super cute cat on site as well. The bedroom was well sized and very comfortable beds. Highly recommend this spot as you make your way up the Eastern coastline of Iceland! Don’t think twice about booking it.

This cabin made a wonderful retreat for our 3 night stay in Iceland. It’s situated so close to some great things to see. The cabin itself is immediately welcoming. Many thoughtful touches put on the place and has a major “wow” factor. Axel was very responsive, kind and hospitable. Highly recommend!
