Beach house vacation rentals in Shimoda

This time, I stayed with three families (a total of 11 people + 1 dog). It was detailed information in advance, and check-in was also smooth.The room was spacious enough and the view from the room was excellent. The room was well cleaned, the kitchen was well equipped, and we had a very comfortable stay. We'd love to stay again if we get the chance.

İt was one of my best stays. The house is so cosy and peaceful. The view is amazingly beautiful. I spent very lovely days and had a good retreat. The route to the house is quite steep, but it's worth the exercise and the scenery you get. There are nice routes surrounding. I will definitely come back again. I used it as a family of two, but it was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped and I enjoyed cooking.

I used it to participate in a surfing competition.It was very convenient to be able to walk to the venue and there was a convenience store.I was also very impressed by their kindness and flexibility in consultation. The interior was beautifully renovated and bright, with amenities and cooking utensils, and it was comfortable, with a wrinkled texture like a natural material, and the bedding covers were very pleasant and comfortable to sleep in. I had to check out in a hurry for the tournament, so next time I would like to stay with a relaxed schedule!Thank you very much.

Loved our quick stay here. House is clean & spotless while having all the things we needed to feel right at home. The place has character and is decorated well, doesn't feel like some heartless airbnb unit, feels like a home. Very much appreciated that! After all, the location was very nice.It was raining on the second day, but even on a rainy day, the sea was so beautiful that I thought it was a great view.It was on a hill and beautifully renovated.The view was as good as a luxury hotel suite. The host's care and the speed of the response were very helpful for first-time Airbnb beginners. I got a takeout from a nearby fishmonger, and it was very luxurious and delicious.

Such a beautiful home with astonishing views. Host provided clear instructions to locate the home and check in. Just can be a bit difficult to get to due to very narrow and steep roads as I rented a lowered sports car.

Our new favorite spot in Sotoura Bay! The house was spacious and perfectly clean, with all the right amenities. Kitchen tools and utensils were plentiful and clean. It was just the three of us, but I could tell the facilities can handle meals for much larger families/groups. The new aircon units were nice given how hot it's been. You could also tell a lot of work went into renovating the building, making it airy and bright but preserving the original feel. I was particularly impressed by the nice bathroom, which was obviously updated with the latest heating system but maintained old tiles -- rather than converting it to the plastic-y "unit baths" seen everywhere else. The hosts were super helpful and kind. They even sent us a toy we'd left behind... We'll be back!

My husband and I had 3 great nights at Hill Top house. It was certainly dramatic excentuated by our arrival in the dark on the first night and waking in the morning to glorious sunshine and stunning views out to the Pacific, not to mention the monkey troop walking along the tree line behind the house. The house is as described and is a modernist gem. We would not hesitate to stay again. We only wished we had booked it for longer.

We had a great stay. Hosts were very helpful with recommendations and getting us cabs into town. The beach was perfect for our 3 kids and a very close walk from the house. They had lots of boogie boards and surf boards available to rent. The Kitchen was well equipped and we loved they had multiple refrigerators since the space used to be a restaurant. The bedrooms were very good size for multiple people. Air conditioning worked great in the bedrooms and living room. We loved the huge deck for relaxing! Laundry was a bit difficult as there is no dryer. Places to hang dry your clothes were available. One down side to the house is there is no bathroom upstairs, and all the bedrooms were up stairs. I would Deffinetly recommend this great beach house! Thanks guys for a great time.

I stayed with a friend and a couple for two nights and three days. It was not too far from the city, and there were many places nearby if you use a car for fishing spots, beaches, etc., and it was a good location to spend the summer vacation.If the weather is good, you can see the stars. The neighborhood is quite quiet, so it is perfect for those who want to be quiet.It is small, but I have all the necessary facilities, and the owner will respond politely if there is anything I want to check, etc., so I had a very comfortable stay. The bathrooms and toilets are also clean. I would like to use it again if I have the opportunity.Thank you!

Extremely cool, authentic and unique house. This has to be one of the coolest AirBnb’s in Japan. Everything about this house is traditional Japanese. Old wood, traditional walls and windows, everything. The house is still comfortable though, with some new technology inside. The kitchen is fully functional for cooking, all the main rooms have a heater and air conditioner unit. The bedroom is Tatami mat, and the views are incredible. 100% worth waking up for sunrise one morning. You can hear the sounds of the ocean and see the ocean from your bed and the living room. You can take a bath in a traditional wooden tub with a view of the ocean and the breeze rolling in. This place is not near any restaurants or convenience stores, so you will have to do some grocery shopping before, but it is worth it. We were able to easily get a taxi from Atami station and the host was very helpful with everything. Thank you!

My husband and I stayed in the cottage for 12 nights. It is in Momoyama-cho, above Atami station. It has a panoramic view of Atami. It takes 5 to 10 minutes to walk uphill to reach the cottage. Taxi drivers are happy to take us uphill at a reasonable price (about 700 yen). There are also quite a few commercial parking lots nearby. The cottage has two floors. The master bedroom is on the ground floor, with clean, comfortable bed linen and plenty of natural light. The living- dining area is on the first floor, also with plenty of natural light. The decor is elegant. The kitchen is modern and well-equipped. The host is friendly. On a clear, sunny day, sitting on the balcony, sipping tea is a most relaxing experience. We recommend visiting local attractions like Kinomiya Shrine. Restaurant and cafe wise, we recommend REFS Atami and Bakery & Table. All in walking distance from the cottage. Overall, highly recommended!

We had an amazing time during our 3 day weekend ! Place was exactly as per the pictures and we had the feeling of being in another country ! Beach really close by (walkable distance but with hill to get back to the house), convenient store and grocery shopping near by if you have a car. Would happily come back for holidays !

We spent a very relaxing week in this beautiful house. It was convenient for us as it was close to the Onsen and not far to the sea. Comfortable, cozy beds, quiet nights, we were able to catch up on a lot of sleep. The kitchen is very well-equipped, pretty dishes, sharp knives, usable pots and pans. Communication with the likeable host was quick and smooth. One of the best Airbnbs we've ever stayed.

This was a lovely AirBnB within 5 minutes walking of the lighthouse and Jogasaki Coast walk. The room was clean and spacious and the bath/onsen was a wonderful way to end the day. Check-in was easy and there was a good private parking spot on premises. If you plan it correctly, you can do a loop of the Jogasaki Coast walk, starting at the farthest suspension bridge and working your way back to the lighthouse and then back home. Overall, a great stay and I would definitely stay here again!

Loved staying here with my family. The place is secluded and private and feels like you’re in a small village surrounded by greenery. But you walk ten minutes along the boardwalk and you’re at beautiful Ohama beach. The perfect beach long weekend. Can’t wait to come back.

This place was AMAZING. The views shown in the photos are even more breathtaking, peaceful and beautiful. The air smells like flowers and the birds never stop singing beautiful songs. The property was well kept and well maintained. It was clean and the sauna and sauna tub were awesome additions! 10/10

The parking lot was very spacious, and there was an Aeon supermarket about a 5-minute drive away, which was very convenient for transportation.The kitchen was stocked with lots of nice dishes and we enjoyed cooking.In the morning, you can see the sea from the room, and there are lush vegetation lined with lush vegetation by the window, which was very healing.Thank you for a pleasant and heartwarming stay.If I get the chance again, I'd love to use it!
