Beach house vacation rentals in Shimoda

Awesome location across a tiny street to the beach…great for multiple families or group of friends. We had a great stay & have already recommended it to others!

今回は、3家族（総勢11名＋犬1匹）でお世話になりました。 事前の詳細な情報で、チェックインもスムーズでした。部屋の広さも充分で、部屋からの眺めも最高でした。 部屋は清掃が行き届いていましたし、キッチン廻りも充実の設備で、大変快適に過ごすことができました。 また、機会がありましたら、ぜひ利用させて頂きたいと思います。

A lovely spot in a quiet beach town, amazing views, stocked kitchen and comfortable bed. The bathroom was also great, a tub and shower with a great view. Overall a great stay.

Tomomi was an amazing host and has taken hospitality to a new level. Check-in was easy and she answered all of our questions although we did have to use google translate she made sure we understood everything. She knew we were interested in Japanese culture and included us in multiple outings and experiences without being pushy including taking us to a concert, driving us to see cherry blossoms with her sister, and introducing us to a Japanese teacher so we could take some lessons. The space was perfect for what we needed and had a kitchen we could cook basic meals with. Overall I have and will recommend Tomomi's place to everyone.

素敵な滞在でした。但し、いろんな物はベタベタしてたのを気になっていました。 全体的には良いです。おすすめします。

サーフィンの大会に参加するため利用させていただきました。徒歩圏内で会場まで行け、コンビニもあるのでとても便利でした。また、相談にも親切、柔軟に対応頂け本当に感動致しました。 室内もキレイにリフォームされていて明るくアメニティや調理器具も揃っていて快適で、シワ加工されている天然素材のような質感の寝具カバーがとても好みで寝心地も良かったです。 大会のためバタバタとしたチェックアウトになってしまったので今度はのんびりしたスケジュール感で利用させていただきたいです！ありがとうございました。

ペット犬と２泊させていただきました。周辺は抜群に眺望がよく、スーパーなども徒歩数分圏内で過ごしやすかったです。 すぐ近くに温泉がいくつもあって、かつ家のお風呂も温泉が入れるので温泉三昧でした。 朝早くからひとっ風呂あびて海岸を散歩したり、ゆっくり過ごすことができました。スーパーも徒歩数分圏内で、とても便利な場所でしたが、やはり家をでて1分で見晴らしのよい海岸にでられるのはなかなかないと思います。 シュノーケリングが楽しめる夏にまたお邪魔させてください！

Antes que nada destacar el buen gusto y la decoración de la casa, espaciosa y muy bien ubicada en barrio tranquilo y tradicional japones. La casa se encuentra a unos metros de la playa, a la cual se puede acceder caminando sin ningún problema. El anfitrión Richard siempre atento y detalloso, nos dió la bienvenida con frutas frescas y café, así como té a gusto en la casa. La casa se encuentra totalmente equipada, cocina, habitaciones y áreas de limpieza. El único detalle a tener en cuenta es que el estacionamiento queda a unos metros de la casa, al cual se accede por pequeños callejones que pueden ser un poco desafiante para personas que no están acostumbradas a manejar en Japón o que cuentan con vehículos de gran tamaño. La playa hermosa, y todas las atracciones turísticas cercanas. Sin dudas ubicación, atención y calidad que se merecen cinco estrellas. Saludos Richard y gracias por todo 🙏

My husband and I had 3 great nights at Hill Top house. It was certainly dramatic excentuated by our arrival in the dark on the first night and waking in the morning to glorious sunshine and stunning views out to the Pacific, not to mention the monkey troop walking along the tree line behind the house. The house is as described and is a modernist gem. We would not hesitate to stay again. We only wished we had booked it for longer.

We had a great stay. Hosts were very helpful with recommendations and getting us cabs into town. The beach was perfect for our 3 kids and a very close walk from the house. They had lots of boogie boards and surf boards available to rent. The Kitchen was well equipped and we loved they had multiple refrigerators since the space used to be a restaurant. The bedrooms were very good size for multiple people. Air conditioning worked great in the bedrooms and living room. We loved the huge deck for relaxing! Laundry was a bit difficult as there is no dryer. Places to hang dry your clothes were available. One down side to the house is there is no bathroom upstairs, and all the bedrooms were up stairs. I would Deffinetly recommend this great beach house! Thanks guys for a great time.

友人夫婦と2泊3日で滞在しました。 市街地からそれほど遠くもなく、釣りスポット、海水浴場なども車を利用するのであれば近いところにたくさんあり、夏休みを過ごすのに良いロケーションでした。天気が良ければ星も良く見えます。 周辺はかなり静かなため、自分たちも静かに過ごしたい方には最適です。こじんまりとしていますが、必要な設備は揃っており、オーナーさんも確認したいことなどがあればすぐに丁寧にお返事をくださいますので、とても快適に過ごすことが出来ました。 お風呂場やトイレなども綺麗です。 また機会があれば是非利用したいと思います。ありがとうございました！

Extremely cool, authentic and unique house. This has to be one of the coolest AirBnb’s in Japan. Everything about this house is traditional Japanese. Old wood, traditional walls and windows, everything. The house is still comfortable though, with some new technology inside. The kitchen is fully functional for cooking, all the main rooms have a heater and air conditioner unit. The bedroom is Tatami mat, and the views are incredible. 100% worth waking up for sunrise one morning. You can hear the sounds of the ocean and see the ocean from your bed and the living room. You can take a bath in a traditional wooden tub with a view of the ocean and the breeze rolling in. This place is not near any restaurants or convenience stores, so you will have to do some grocery shopping before, but it is worth it. We were able to easily get a taxi from Atami station and the host was very helpful with everything. Thank you!

My husband and I stayed in the cottage for 12 nights. It is in Momoyama-cho, above Atami station. It has a panoramic view of Atami. It takes 5 to 10 minutes to walk uphill to reach the cottage. Taxi drivers are happy to take us uphill at a reasonable price (about 700 yen). There are also quite a few commercial parking lots nearby. The cottage has two floors. The master bedroom is on the ground floor, with clean, comfortable bed linen and plenty of natural light. The living- dining area is on the first floor, also with plenty of natural light. The decor is elegant. The kitchen is modern and well-equipped. The host is friendly. On a clear, sunny day, sitting on the balcony, sipping tea is a most relaxing experience. We recommend visiting local attractions like Kinomiya Shrine. Restaurant and cafe wise, we recommend REFS Atami and Bakery & Table. All in walking distance from the cottage. Overall, highly recommended!

Prachtige woning en ontzettend lieve en vriendelijke verhuurders. Behulpzaam met reserveren restaurant, tips en leuke aanwijzing om in de buurt te doen. Kan deze air bnb iedereen aanbevelen, omgeving is adembenemend mooi en huis is prachtig.

We had an amazing time during our 3 day weekend ! Place was exactly as per the pictures and we had the feeling of being in another country ! Beach really close by (walkable distance but with hill to get back to the house), convenient store and grocery shopping near by if you have a car. Would happily come back for holidays !

Wir haben eine sehr erholsame Woche in diesem schönen Haus verbracht. Es lag für uns günstig, da nahe am Onsen und nicht weit zum Meer. Bequeme, gemütliche Betten, stille Nächte, wir haben viel Schlaf nachholen können. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet, hübsches Geschirr, scharfe Messer, brauchbare Töpfe und Pfannen. Die Kommunikation mit dem sympathischen Vermieter war schnell und reibungslos. Eines der besten Airbnbs, in denen wir je waren.

Perfect place for a change of pace after spending time in bustling Japanese cities. The host gave very clear instructions on how to access the space and even accommodated us checking out a bit late so we could hike in the morning. Only downside is that it’s a bit of a walk from the train station, but otherwise I found it to be great. The hot spring bath was amazing!

Loved staying here with my family. The place is secluded and private and feels like you’re in a small village surrounded by greenery. But you walk ten minutes along the boardwalk and you’re at beautiful Ohama beach. The perfect beach long weekend. Can’t wait to come back.

ホストの方のとても親切な対応のおかげで快適な時間を過ごすことができました。BBQの用意や寝具の用意も全てやってくださり、くつろぐことができました。また機会があれば利用したいと思います。

This place was AMAZING. The views shown in the photos are even more breathtaking, peaceful and beautiful. The air smells like flowers and the birds never stop singing beautiful songs. The property was well kept and well maintained. It was clean and the sauna and sauna tub were awesome additions! 10/10

駐車場はとても広く、車で5分ほどのところにイオンのスーパーがあり、交通の便がとても良かったです。キッチンには素敵な食器がたくさん用意されていて、料理をするのも楽しかったです。朝になると部屋から海が見え、窓辺には緑豊かな植物が並んでいて、とても癒されました。快適で心温まる滞在をありがとうございました。また機会があればぜひ利用したいです！
