Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Scottish Borders

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It is situated at the entrance to a lovely park and a great place to stay to explore the Scottish Borders. It is easily walkable to the local supermarkets and restaurants. Do be aware that a lot of the restaurants are closed in the evenings on Sundays, Mondays or both. We would recommend the Santa Marina Italian. Sam's home is very cosy and comfortable. It is very clean and the kitchen is very well equipped. It is dog friendly. We would certainly go back if we visit the area again.

We have used Georgie place last year in the Autumn . Now in the Spring/summer. Enjoyed on both occasions. Will certainly be returning .

My wife and I had an amazing 3 day holiday in Northumberland. Nina is an exceptional and welcoming person. It was beyond our expectations. A wonderful area with many many places to visit. We will definitely come back here next time. Thank you Nina !!!

We give the Water Tower 10 stars! Susan is remarkable! She has clearly thought lovingly of every detail of one’s stay, with great care and attention. What a rich experience! She and Gerry are warm, welcoming, generous and engaging, and yet also sensitive and respectful of individual needs for privacy. We felt so fortunate to be able to stay at their place and to get to know them a little bit! The fridge was stocked with milk, spreads, fresh fruit and a welcome bottle of wine, the cupboards with biscuits and homemade bread and muffins. Plenty of teas and coffees. A pleasing array of soaps and lotions and toiletries. Gerry’s beautiful paintings line the walls of the Tower, as well as the plans for the renovation, as he is the architect who brought this magical spot to life. Susan, a fine biologist, shared her gardening expertise , and we were happy to tour with her. Truly, we could not have felt more welcomed, nor more cared for. They went above and beyond. We are happy and grateful!

We loved Anna and Tom's place, it was the perfect spot for us. Beautiful accommodation in a peaceful setting. We really appreciated their recommendations for kid-friendly, local activities (the playground in Innerleithen and ice cream shop was a real hit!) We have family living in the area so hope to come back and stay again soon. Thanks!

We had a great time at Rachel’s place. Because another booking we had made unexpectedly fell through on the day we were arriving in Kelso, we were desperately looking for a place to stay in Kelso. And we were really lucky and blessed to find the apothecary house. We contacted Rachel in the morning and she responded right away and we were able to get in the flat by 6 pm on the same day. We just needed a place with a kitchen to stay at and we got this wonderful, beautiful and spacious flat. It by far exceeded our expectations. The location overlooking the town square of Kelso is unmatched - very beautiful and in combination with woodwork in the window it made for a perfect photo op. Highly recommend staying with Rachel, when visiting the Scottish Borders 👍.

Clean, comfortable, beautifully furnished, tranquil and utterly idyllic. Beautiful landscape views, and some stunning sunsets. Excellent food at the friendly pub just down the road. We look forward to a return visit some time.

We stayed at Piers's place as an overnight stop on going further North. Despite seeing the pictures on the listing we were amazed at the beauty and sheer size of the apartment; the high decorated ceilings, original wooden panelling, gorgeous oriental rugs & tapestries, pictures and artefacts from many different countries, plus a modern and extremely well equipped kitchen. I have never had a choice of 4 different ways to make coffee before! I chose the delongi which was perfect. A truly wonderful experience.. highly recommended!

Sarah was very responsive, polite and friendly from our enquiry to book to the day we checked out. Met us outside the property, showed us in and left us to it. Recommended local bars/food and went over and above in the flat with little touches like tea, coffee, extra towels, shampoo/showergel, bike cleaning equipment and pump (which we had forgot) Perfect for biking, excellent safe bike storage, gorgeous village with few minutes walk to the shops restraunts and bar. Thankyou Sarah, if we are up that way again I would re book.

We had a wonderful stay at Paula and Robbie’s flat. Loved the decor, quirky pictures, the personalised welcome, milk and biscuits on arrival. The place was spotless and we had great communication from the hosts.

A great place to stay if visiting Kelso. Close to everything that’s needed. Host’s were first class, from booking to answering any questions, always very responsive. De entree naar de locatie is misschien niet de mooiste maar voor ons was het prima. Wij reisden met OV en de locatie en Galashiels liggen juist voor dit OV centraal. Bovendien was de Aldi op 2 min lopen én, Kirsten maakt het verschil! Het appartement is van alle gemakken voorzien en alles, echt alles is er, van kruiden tot waspoeder, dus…arriveren, installeren en klaar om je eigen ding te doen. Na 2x oriënteren hadden we de wandelroutes gevonden. Prachtig!!

Tara is a perfect host - initiative, helpful, with quick reaction and proactivity. The basic suply of kitchenware and bathware was perfect. The apartment is lacking air and needs constant change of air, otherwise when closed a whole day, smells a bit heavy. The place is clean and cosy

Great value Airbnb. Very well equipped. Lovely to get breakfast products. Beds were comfy, Inc the sofa bed. The outside space was a bonus. Great walks. Straightforward bus service to explore further afield. Lots of local walks, pubs and food options. Rosie couldn’t do enough for us. A great weekend. Thank you Rosie.

A wonderful place to relax, retreat and enjoy peaceful days. The stunning fireplace and log burner made it extra cosy. The bed was extremely comfortable. Because of my neurodegenerative illness, reduced mobility and pain, I need to have easy access and a comfortable environment. That’s exactly what I found. For those in wheelchairs or mobility scooters: the old railway path, where tracks used to be, is such a lovely place for an outing.

Quirky place with loads of space and character. Very clean and well set up too. The arrangements for key collection were very convenient and Alec who let us in and showed us round could not have been nicer or more helpful. We felt we had had an experience, rather than just an overnight stay. The building itself is a real one-off and has the look of a fairytale castle. Would recommend highly.

Lovely place to stay, the property was immaculate and plenty of space for the 4 of us for a weekend. Road parking was easy, and we walked into the town to tesco and restaurants. We recommend Okome for Japanese food, book a table for more than 2 people. Short walk to the train station for a direct train to Edinburgh (less than an hour journey into city centre). Road quiet during the night and we all slept great. Food and drinks provided ready for our stay which was really helpful after a very long drive. Breakfast cereal was great to have for the morning. I recommend taking a tablet if you have kids so they can connect to their own apps. We would recommend to anyone to stay here and will go again when visiting Edinburgh. Thank you for a great stay!
