Barns Bothy is a quirky and comfortable bolt hole, in a beautiful setting. Comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, log burning stove and well equipped kitchen. Large garden and room to store your bikes. The Bothy is an ideal location for exploring the Scottish Borders. Peebles is nearby with great amenities and there’s heavenly walks right from the door. Please be aware that The Bothy is located at the end of a rural track and due care should be taken with speed and approach.

Located centrally in Otterburn in the heart of Northumberland national park. Ideal for couples and the family pet, with walking and countryside on your doorstep and the award winning William de Percy pub and wood hill hall wedding venue.

We enjoyed our stay. Phil and Jude were very friendly and helpful. Our group consisted of 5 adults and 1 child. When we first saw inside the house it was more than we expected. The sun shining in through the windows, lovely and warm made us feel relaxed and comfortable. As we all came from different parts of Regional Australia, for us it was what we were looking for, quiet, spacious and close to attractions and extended family. The walks through the countryside were beautiful and the locals we met were very friendly. It is a lovely place to stay with very kind and attentive hosts.

Very lovely cottage in beautiful countryside, stunning views from the garden. Cosy, lots of character, attractive contemporary interior, good bathroom and en-suite loo. We didn’t see much of the hosts (family wedding, hectic itinerary) however pre-arrival communications were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Would definitely stay there again.

The Byres is a beautiful conversion that is spacious and homely. The home is comfortable and well equipped, all you need for a home to home stay. I loved the beautiful large bath tub for much needed relaxation. The additional loft lounge was fab and my teenagers enjoyed having their own space! The cottage is as stated on a working farm so you are surrounded by open fields and hills. I particularly enjoyed watching the shenanigans of the sheep opposite the cottage. The home is situated rurally and transport is a requirement. However, there are so many historical and visit or attractions within minutes or further afield. The people were so friendly and helpful everywhere we went. I would highly recommend visiting the Byres and would love to visit again.

We could not have loved Dannii and Andrew’s place more. So much so, we wish we booked a 3rd night! Dannii was welcoming, responsive, and provided us with incredible recommendations. Her place is beautiful, clean, and peaceful. She helped us with local transportation, provided stellar local recommendations, and the breakfast spread each morning was delicious. Everything about The Ratho Park Steading was perfect—we even booked a tee time at the golf club right next door. Our stay could not have been more accommodating—we are already discussing a return trip to Ratho Park Steading with friends.

My family & I gathered for Xmas & Yuletide holidays in Fairlaw Garden Cottage, than which, short of owning a home in the Lammermuirs again, there could hardly be a better venue for our purpose. Our hostess could not have been more welcoming, kind, or helpful. The 'upside down' layout of the house, a converted Scottish Enlightenment-era farm steading building, means daylight floods the living rooms & kitchen on top floor. The views to the Cheviots are inspiring. The bedrooms on ground floor give ease of bringing bags in, and quick access to any outdoor gear one's stowed in the generous cupboards & drawers. Heating the bedrooms during the day made the upstairs as warm as needed with the radiators off. The windows' curtains are an idea worth stealing: blankets which have been faced with drapery fabric - thick, draughtproof, warm, and hang close to the window reveals. Very much appreciated on long December nights. Bathrooms enough for all - but on this webpage, not room for due praise.
