Vacation rentals with lake access in Scottish Borders

A fantastic family stay at this wonderful barn conversion. We couldn’t have asked for more. The location is great,just a few miles outside the main town of Galashields (which has everything in it….and some great delivery services) The property was spacious and catered for our needs and our wheelchair user. The hot tub is the icing on the cake,peaceful and tranquil at any time of the day. We would love to return in the future.

Cynthia’s place is well located with great amenities. Self check in was smooth and she was highly responsive and proactive before and during our stay. Great stay - thank you!

I rented an apartment for my parents for a week and we are very satisfied. The apartment was clean and looked exactly like the pictures. In addition, Marcin was very kind, asked if we were missing anything, and answered all the questions. Our stay was just the best. The location was beautiful, peaceful and quiet with its own loch and kayaks which the children loved. It was also close by to local amenities and many places to visit nearby. The house was so spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked and Theresa had very kindly left us some groceries, a very welcome addition. Pets were also welcomed and it was a great place for dogs to run around in. We would not hesitate to recommend Theresa’s house as it had everything and more that we were looking for.

A beautiful property, generally well equipped but could do with some champagne glasses

We have been coming to this site for many years and seen many changes, some good, some not so. As regular visitors we have stayed in other caravans on the site but this one was much better than others. The quality of the sofa bed in the lounge is amazing, so comfortable and perfect for the space, also incredibly easy to convert from sofa to bed. The mattresses on the beds in the rooms were of a higher quality and much thicker than others we have experienced in caravans here. Having Wifi was great as we were visiting during colder months so lovely to cosy up to watch movies. Even though it was -3 at one point during our stay we were always lovely and warm. I will look to book this caravan again, it really does have that little bit extra to make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable. The view over the lake is also an added bonus. Watching the sun rise through the trees was magical, especially after being so lucky seeing the northern lights too! Thank you for having us xx

What can i say, we have just come home from a week at the tibbie shiels caravan and i feel claustrophobic. The view and the area is completely stunning. The caravan is exactly as shown and described (slightly dated, but homely and usable) (i also wouldnt want a bright white sterile place to stay when you have the loch and hills to come back from). Alistair and Eleanor were so friendly and helpful throughout our stay and nothing was too much, even when they were fully booked with campers. The private little garden and gated area are just gorgeous next to the river facing st marys loch. We have stayed on site and travelled around the nearby towns and beauty spots. Weve had an amazing time....bring waterproofs. There were 2 adults, 2 big teenage lads, 2 kids and our dogs....it was a squeeze but we managed!! We will be back and we cant wait for the next adventure around the area! Thank you!

This was our second stay at this lovely flat. Our family of 5 had a lovely stay last time so we re-booked it for the second part of our trip. Salma and her home are just lovely.

We loved our stay at Newhall Estate. The stable flat was gorgeous. Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, quality linen and it felt like a lovely luxurious stay. Really close to Edinburgh but it felt like another world and we loved coming home and taking a walk around the grounds. Would strongly recommend.

Had a great stay with Trish! Such a nice little space with everything you need, plus super close to the train station that goes right into Edinburgh city!

Highly Recommend! Beautiful, well equipped cottage. It has been renovated to a very high standard. Kate, was an excellent host and very responsive. In the middle of a working sheep farm, sheep everywhere, so you must be able to control your dogs at all times. A beautiful break away from Wifi, phones and people. All shops about 16/18 miles away. A lovely place to reconnect and recharge. Thank you for having us, would love to come back soon ☺️

What an amazing find! it is a beautiful little village next to a pub that serves excellent food, best mushroom risotto I have ever had! We walked up a nearby hill to Drakes stone and the view was great, we looked around the ruin castle in the village and did a walk by the river all without having to get in a car. Location was peaceful and quiet and our dog had the best time ever. I highly recommend this place, the cottage itself is spotless and has everything you need utensils and appliance wise. There is a small shop in the pub next door. Karen communicated really well and I would definitely stay here again. We also travelled to nearby places such as Craster, Alnwick, Rothbury and Kielder from here and although it is a little journey the scenery is well worth it.

Fantastic accommodation in a beautiful, peaceful part of Scotland with sheep and lambs in the surrounding fields (we visited mid April). The cottage was spotlessly clean with everything we needed. The guide to the apartment was very helpful. Wished we could have stayed longer!

Kerry helped us out massively when another Airbnb host cancelled at the last minute. She was very responsive and got her property ready for us super quick. The property is beautiful and we can’t praise Kerry enough

Our stay met every expectation and then some. The cottage was well equipped with every attention to detail considered. Our only issue throughout our trip was phone reception. However, this will not stop us from coming back and enjoying more time on the beautiful estate.

Galashiels is a charming town with breathtaking scenery, and perfect destination for our family to reunite. The cozy cottage provided by this Air bnb is not only well-maintained and comfortable, but the hosts go above and beyond to ensure a wonderful stay for their guests. I would highly recommend this Airbnb and would definitely stay here again in the future!
