Places to stay in Lusignac
Large traditional french manor with lots of character, in the beautiful Dordogne/Charente countryside. Lovely relaxed setting with views, private heated swimming pool and large garden. The house is very spacious, with plenty of rooms to relax in on the ground floor and a covered terrace for meals & bbq. A calm and relaxing setting with magnificent views, heated pool & large private garden. Outdoor trampoline, ping pong table & swing. Great place for family reunions or fun times with friends.
Little historical anecdote: the house was Francois Mitterrand's childhood home!
The area offers stunning views across the rolling countryside. It is very popular for its trails, for both walkers and cyclists. It is also an ideal haven to escape to to enjoy wine, french food, and perhaps the solace to write off season.
  • Very good family holiday for 4 couples, 1 adult and 7 children. A welcome and availability as simple as pleasant from Georgina and Owen, with special attention very nice. The house has charm and is clean, functional and pleasant. Good equipment for cooking, eating and having fun. We enjoyed the two different spaces for the pool and the garden and the different rooms of the house. Good times shared by the pool, billiards, zip line. Interesting tours nearby. Perfect also for those who like to run or mountain bike (see the mountain bike circuit n ° 5 which joins next to the Aubeterre golf course).

  • Superb bourgeois house. We came in groups (4 families including 8 adults and 11 children), the house is very very spacious, different spaces to isolate if necessary. The pool is very big, deep and nice. The hosts are hyper reactive and very friendly without being intrusive. In short we had a great time with our friends. To redo.

    Guillaume2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing place that exceeded all our expectations. It worked very well for our group of 15, aged from 1 through teens to 75+. The pool was perfect for cooling down on the 40+ degree days, and thanks to the large tv/play room, dining room, living room, big kitchen and outside (undercover) seating we had plenty of space in the evenings and the occasional rainy day. Georgina and Owen were lovely hosts, which added to the whole experience.

  • A beautiful and charming place. With everything you need. Georgina and Owen were a pleasure to deal with and a joy to meet. The went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and as enjoyable as it was. The house is huge and full of features and style with modern bathrooms. The setting is stunning. The views incredible. The pool and outdoor space endlessly inviting. We were gutted to not spend more time here. We’ll be back.

  • A beautiful location and wonderful house. Couldn’t recommend it more

    Kathleen2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • The house is ideal for family reunions (we were 18) with several "places of life" (large kitchen, garden furniture, games room, courtyards in front of the house ...) allowing everyone to have a good stay. The pool is beautiful, large and heated: a real treat. And Georgina and Owen are charming, considerate and responsive hosts.

  • Beautiful house for our 4 families (8 adults, 8 children from 4 to 14 years and a baby)! We were much more at Toutvent because we had a lot of space both inside and outside! The pool is very big! The trampoline, the swings, the hammock and the zip line made the children happy! Dogs are nice visitors and very discreet owners! Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, which is a few kms away, is very friendly. For other areas of interest you have to go a little further. Great stay with friends !!!!

  • Nikita and her friend are the most welcoming people you can imagine, striking the perfect balance of being available while still allowing you all the privacy and solitude you'd like. Deer house is a beautifully furnished cottage surrounded by a marvellous garden where you feel immediately at home. The perfect hosts and the perfect place to find peace. Thanks a lot to both of you!

    Fred2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • You will be very happy at Nikita's place! It is charming, quiet, private and decorated with elegance and grace. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and we found the location to be a great base for day trips. Nikita is a super host with an open and loving heart. 5 Stars!

    Teresa2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • This little gem corresponds to the pictures and the description. The cottage is attached to the main house. It has an independent entrance, and also the romantic seat behind the house is secluded, private and goes into unspoiled nature. The decor is romantic, tasteful and complemented with loving details. The kitchen is well equipped. Especially practical and stylish is the large wooden worktable in the dining area. Here you have wonderful space to snip and spice up what you have bought in the inviting markets in the area Has. For adventurous, imaginative children it is a harmless paradise. Adults looking for peace and relaxation are just right here. Nikita is a wonderful hostess. It is always there when you need advice or recommendations, but it never gets in the way. I really enjoyed my stay and will be back. Thank you Nikita

  • We had a short but enjoyable stay at Nikita. We were welcomed like kings! The garden is sublime and quiet, we were totally disoriented. The decoration has been carefully selected and the atmosphere is warm. Thank you Nikita!

  • We had an EXCELLENT stay at Nikita. The house is very very pleasant, well decorated, and is located in an exceptional and quiet environment. Nikita greeted us with finesse, smiles, and kindness, and made herself available with discretion throughout our stay. The garden, the light, the decoration, all the elements are gathered to feel perfectly well, and to relax. We'll be back, sure.

    Francois-Xavier2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The house of my dreams ... with the charming Nikita who welcomes you with a smile and immediately makes you feel like a visiting friend rather than a guest. Lovely house, cared for with taste and talent in every detail and full of comfort, inside and out Place of peace for the spirit and eyes immersed in greenery, in silence and away from the lights of neighboring villages But the house, Nikita are much more .... they must be discovered !!!

  • We had a lovely, relaxing stay at L’ancienne etable. The house is comfy & well-equipped, the views stunning, and the ambiance of the shared gardens and pool was peaceful and friendly. There are 4 or 5 other properties that share the pool and gardens, all let out to holiday makers. So we chatted to a couple of families and some couples, but it never felt busy or noisy. The local restaurant (2 mins walk) was decent enough and it was a 15 min drive to the lovely Aubeterre-sur-Dronne with its picturesque square with restaurants & the fascinating subterranean 12th century church. Our teenagers were delighted we could access Netflix & Amazon on the TV, but we’d have been just as happy without! A really quiet location- and a much needed contrast to city life! Would definitely recommend.

  • We really loved our stay, the cottage was really comfortable and well equiped. The location was great and the views were stunning. Our children particularly loved the pool and made friends with guests staying in some of the other properties. Overall it was fantastic, we would highly recomend it.

  • A really beautiful place to stay. We stopped here for some peace and quiet before our wedding and used the gîte to explore the local areas. Check in information was clear and thorough with someone always on hand to answer our queries. Local restaurant allowed us a lovely dinner out and the mornings were spent going on runs through the country roads. Fantastic hosts and a real taste of the country.

  • We have just returned home after a wonderful stay in Lusignac. The house was absolutely perfect, a converted farm with loads of character and breathtaking views. The pool area was spotless and the little diving board went down a treat with our two little boys. Lusignac is a cute little village in a great area of France with lots to see and do. A fantastic holiday had by all. We would highly recommend. xx

Set in the heart of Lusignac, and having the bonus of its own private courtyard, yet sharing the use of the pool and delightful gardens with the other properties in the complex, this restored village house offers bright and spacious living and sleeping accommodation on one level. Entering the house via the courtyard there is a large open-plan kitchen/living room, off which a corridor leads to the two bedrooms, (one double, one twin), the bathroom, and a large room for storage.
Although equipped for modern-day living, this property retains much of its rustic charm, it has the original stone fireplace, wooden shutters, and a sunny courtyard with a covered decked area. Facilities include satellite TV (UK channels only), free Wifi, washing machine, iron and ironing board, dishwasher, gas oven and hob, microwave, electric heaters.
Situated on the top of a hill, Lusignac offers views in all directions and there are numerous walks to be had around the quiet country lanes. For cyclists this undulating region offers many interesting routes, taking in forests, lakes, tranquil rivers and a chance to visit some of the many romanesque churches and chateaux in the area. Good eating can be enjoyed at the local restaurant/bar in Lusignac, just 1 minute's stroll from the cottage. Verteillac and Saint-Severin, both less than 10 minutes' drive away, have everything you need for day-to-day living, whilst in Riberac some 15 minutes' drive away can be found 2 large supermarkets and a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars, not forgetting its Friday market.

This house was beore a family house, so it's really typical off the region.
This house belonged to peasant, there was a part wich was a farm and the House off those one. From outside you can see a wonderful view on the low land and the small village off Lusignac. there is flower garden and a stone table where you rest a bit due to the ash's shadow.
There is a duke breading around, you can taste a bit off foie gras at 30 meters. The other are really quiet.
  • Accommodation clean and consistent with the presentation, attentive and responsive.

  • A guest house very well furnished and decorated with taste! A totally independant access, a beautiful bedroom and a large bathroom, the pool (very large!) Is the icing on the cake and has made this stay a real haven of peace. The hosts, Claudine and Denis, are welcoming and caring without being intrusive, allowing us to enjoy the places in privacy and advising us of great places to discover the region. If you are looking for rest, this place is ideal! Claudine's breakfast and her homemade cakes are excellent for starting out on the right foot :)

Located in the beautiful Périgord Vert region of the Dordogne in south western France, this configuration of La Dépendance is spacious and comfortable and offers two bedrooms, a large living room, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and a sunny roof top terrace with BBQ and panoramic views
The front door of La Dépendance opens into a spacious foyer with a circular staircase leading to upstairs accommodation. The foyer also gives access to a second bedroom with twin beds. Upstairs, the original loft configuration is at once dramatic, spacious and light filled. Of particular interest are the timber beams, some of which retain the shape of the original tree, fastened without nails in a manner dating back to the 11th century. The open plan Salon divides into four: a TV area with English and European satellite TV; an area with settee and armchairs; a quiet area with desk and chair; plus a dining area seating 6. Ceiling fans provide comfortable ventilation in the warmer weather. A fully equipped kitchen has all electric appliances, including dishwasher. At the far end is a double bedroom and bathroom with generous shower recess. There is a washing machine in the upstairs bathroom. To one side of the kitchen a timber staircase leads to the roof terrace. There is outdoor furniture, an electric barbeque and lighting, allowing you to dine alfresco from morning to night. There is private parking directly outside.
The natural beauty of the Périgort Vert is unsurpassed. Discover the Dordogne's rich heritage of prehistoric cave art, Roman ruins, feudal fortresses, its medieval churches, and great renaissance chateaux. Here some of the greatest medieval poetry, architecture and art were created. La Lande is a leafy oasis just 16km from the bustling market town of Ribérac. Villages little changed since the middle ages scatter across hillsides, each with their Romanesque church. Ancient fortresses are associated with Richard the Lionheart and the Black Prince. The local cuisine is a delight, with its famed foie gras, truffles and fresh grown produce. From Michelin star restaurants, to the inexpensive bar restaurants of the villages. Close by are the great wineries of Bordeaux, St Emilion and Cognac. Locally, Bergerac produces an affordable, good quality wine. Self Catering requirements are available in the nearby villages of St Séverin and Verteillac. The regional centre Ribérac has hypermarkets and specialty shops. Visit the famous Ribérac Market on Fridays, the largest in the Dordogne. There are also numerous weekly village markets across the region. Two thousand year old Périgueux with its Roman ruins and five-domed Byzantine cathedral is less than an hour by car. Visit the island town of Brantôme, with its fairy tale Abbey cut into limestone cliffs, and Bourdeilles with its ancient fortress and renaissance chateau. Wonder at the prehistoric cave art of Lascaux. The region also features ancient pilgrimage sites such as Rocamadour. Medieval Sarlat, bastides, the feudal castles of the middle Dordogne and the wine regions of Bordeaux are all within comfortable travelling distance. There is golf, tennis, horse riding, swimming and canoeing close by, and cycling and hiking trails. Important festivals of music and literature are held throughout the summer. The Felibrée is a celebration of Occitan culture held in a different town each year. Angoulême hosts a vintage car race and a festival of the Bande Dessinée, a sophisticated form of comic strip. There is a mime festival in Périgueux; a Film festival in Cognac and a Jazz Festival in Bergerac. From spring onwards, each village hosts an annual fête, a colourful 2 day event concluding with a gala dinner dance and fireworks. Truffles, foie gras and walnuts each have their season. Aubeterre sur Dronne features an impressive artisans’ exhibition where local craftsmen sell their wares along the streets and in the squares There are numerous Flower Festivals: Epeluche and St Jean de Côle are among the favourites. At 45 km by road, La Lande is equidistant from Périgueux, the capital of the Dordogne, and Angoulême, capital of the Charente.

L’Etang is set in seventeen acres of open meadows, lake and woodland. Soak up the sun on your terrace or around our swimming pool and enjoy meals in your private garden and BBQ area. You can fish in our well-stocked lake. Youngsters can play table tennis and pool in our barn, if mum and dad need five minutes to themselves.
The gite has a large double bedroom and two twin bedrooms and sleeps six people. There is a family bathroom upstairs with toilet, shower and hand basin. Downstairs, there is a large lounge. There is a spacious, open-plan kitchen/dining area and a downstairs toilet with hand basin. The gite has its own sun terrace and balcony, parking, small gardens and a barbecue area. It is fully equipped for everything a family on holiday would need. You can also use our washing machines in the laundry room. All bedding and towels are supplied, and we can probably accommodate anything else you may have forgotten to bring with you. We are very relaxed, informal and family orientated. The gite has its own entrance and facilities. It has English TV and Wi Fi.
L’Etang is one mile outside the village of Bertric Burée. The area around the village of BB is rich in history, with many interesting chateaux and bastide towns within easy reach. It sits in rural, farmlands and is famous for its snail festival in May, when the entire village comes together, with food and a fair ground. There is a boulangerie in BB, providing fresh bread every day, and a restaurant, Aux Petits Oignons, serving traditional French food. Sit outside the restaurant on a warm summer evening and enjoy a meal, a soft drink, a beer or a coffee. A short distance from BB, there are river beaches where bathing is safe, and large lakes with beaches, canoes, kayaks, fishing and beachfront restaurants and cafes, all surrounded by ancient woodlands. A trip to the beautiful, south eastern coastline of France is just over two hours away by car. In this region, there is a large forest, the 'Foret de la Double', and lots of Romanesque churches. The villages of Lusignac, Aubeterre sur Dronne and Aubeterre, are very pretty and close enough to even just go for a coffee. Verteillac is near to BB. It boasts three restaurants, two bars, a butcher, baker, bank, post office, doctor’s surgery and pharmacy, and an incredible store called Merlaud, which sells everything from vegetables to garden furniture. The village also has a great open-air swimming pool. The first Sunday of every month, there is a very large antique market. Ribérac is the nearest town to BB. It dates from the 9th century and has its own wealth of history and beauty. Ribérac has many facilities, including banks, supermarkets, doctors, pharmacies, interesting shops, a sports stadium with tennis courts and a complex of three, open-air swimming pools. It has many inviting restaurants serving very reasonably priced lunches, as well as evening meals, à la carte. The popular French cafés in the town are on all tourist lists and they provide excellent coffees and meals (Café des Colonnes even serves a pot of tea). Ribérac has a market, every Friday morning, which is reputedly the biggest in Périgord and great fun to visit, especially the food side, which sells local produce grown and made in this part of France. It is a delight to the senses to walk around.

The rooms are enormous and very tastelfully decorated! The hosts were just so lovely and helpful! I would recommend hiring a car though... taxis don’t operate in this area very often (if at all)

We stayed in the top floor bedroom, which is very large, with a much comfortable bed and nice bathroom and balcony. Colin is very welcoming. We highly appreciated the homemade breakfast, with fresh fruits, cheese, eggs etc. We can only recommand Colin's place to visit the area including the beautiful Aubeterre or just relax in the parc by the pool.

For 28 years we spend our summers here and enjoy the atmosfere and the garden with its splendid view. Swimming, sunbathing, playing table tennis in the garden, all very peaceful. Little villages and large markets, river, golf at 15 mins drive.
Large kitchen and living room with all equipment you need. Wifi of course. In the main house the master bedroom (2 pers), the oranje room (2 pers), a baby room and a bathroom. In the connected wing 2 bedrooms (3 pers) and 2 bathrooms. The house is very cosy with two or four, but very suitbale for two families with children as well.
After almost 30 years I am still in love with the lovely little villages with the caracteristic French squares. The tempo of living is a lot lower than ours and that is blessful when you are on holiday. Leave your stress at home. In a 15 minutes drive you are at the river Dronne where you can swim and kano. Horse riding is everywhere in the country. In the house you find where to go. From wednesday to saturday there are markets in the near surroundings. Experience the pease and quiet of our house and garden. Situates at a little rural alley with just a couple of farms. Practically no traffic, so nice for children.
  • This is a delightful, comfortable, homely house, plenty of space inside and out with good facilities. It is the owner's home and equipped as such, with many nice touches.

    Barry2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely countryside home with a fantastic garden. I would recommend particularly for a group of friends as the separate wings allow you to have lots of space. Garden and plunge pool great for kids too. A very nice stay - thank you.

  • This is a classic french house in a lovely secluded spot with a beatiful view from the large private garden, which is great for a peaceful break. We were there in a bit of a heat wave so the pool was great. You definitely need a car, however there are a few cute villages 5 minute drives away. Definitely get clear directions before you go!

  • The house of Violet is the country house as you can imagine: quiet, with a view of the hill and all that is needed for a pleasant holiday, especially with young children. We enjoyed among others the swimming pool, sandpit, 3 shower rooms, baby equipment (cot, high chair, bath). Distance trading with Violet was very easy. We can only recommend his house!

  • Stay July 2017 An exceptional exterior in direct contact with nature and a magnificent view of the fields Many shops easily accessible and many small villages very pleasant nearby A spacious house with all the qualities (but also the defects) of an old building. We had exactly what we were looking for during these 15 days: calm and tranquility

    Jean-Luc2017-07-25T00:00:00Z

Lime trees are well loved for their large, heart shaped leaves (offering wonderful shade through the hot summer days) and their fragrant flowers, which are drunk as an infusion, famous for its calming and restorative properties. The house is the perfect combination of a traditional stone farmhouse in an idyllic rural location, packed with history and character; and a comfortable, relaxed, modern family home, beautifully designed and refurbished, offering all mod-cons. There are a selection of teak sun-loungers, deck chairs and tables provided for your use and enjoyment around the pool. The terrasses and gardens at Les Tilleuls are cut into a gently sloping plot that faces south. On the East side, closest to the house, is a flat area of lawn lined with plum and cherry trees. Towards the lower front corner of the gardens is the shady play area, with 2-story wooden play structure, slide, climbing wall and ‘crows nest’, all within view of the house and front terrasse. There is a hammock-swing that can accommodate babies and older children alike, as well as gym rings and a standard sling-swing, for those more accomplished! Beneath the large lime tree on the front terrasse hangs a wonderful tree swing, which is always a firm favourite with our younger guests. There is a large gas grill/BBQ on the sunny West terrasse, along with table and chairs, perfect for eating late into the summer evenings. The shady front terrasse offers both relaxed garden sofas with fire pit, and large garden table seating 8, for shady lunches. The East terrasse gets the morning sun and has a pergola and an ancient grape vine that wraps around the house, the perfect spot for some fresh morning pastries, juice and coffee. There is a footpath down into the adjoining woodland which leads to a small stream and large natural pond, ideal for spotting wildlife. There are all manner of newts, frogs, fish and birds, and even deer, red squirrels and otters make frequent appearances, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled! There is ample parking for multiple vehicles at Les Tilleuls and you can pull cars right up to the front or side doors to unload luggage or shopping with ease. Details of a range of local shops, restaurants, amenities and attractions (as well as quick-start instructions for all equipment and appliances at the house) are provided for your information with the Welcome Book that will be left for you on arrival. We ask that guests check in after 4pm and check out by 10am, as we like to have ample time to do a full and thorough changeover. If you have any questions at all regarding a stay at Les Tilleuls, please do get in touch via the message function and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
What else is on your doorstep? If you fancy venturing out explore, there is a huge amount to see and do just a stone’s throw from Les Tilleuls. The village centre of Villetoureix is an easy walk/cycle, with its friendly bar/restaurant and village shop with daily bread deliveries and local produce. It also boasts a pretty church and local primary school, as well as lovely park and picnic area on the banks of the river (next to the Salle des Fetes/Village Hall) with an outdoor cafe/restaurant that runs throughout the summer. The near-by village of Vertillac, just to the North, has several lovely cafes, restaurants and shops, as well as colourful local produce markets and brocantes that run all year round, The town of Ribérac is 3 miles/5km away and boasts a wonderful 12th century church, shady town square, several large supermarkets, shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, banks, doctors, pharmacies, and its large/famous weekly market (also open all year) with every kind of local food stall, alongside all manner of household items and locally produced arts and crafts. There is plenty to see and do in the area, no matter what time of year you visit: river beaches, lakes and water sports at Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, Saint-Aulaye and La Jemaye, tennis courts in Villetoureix and Ribérac, horse riding and fishing, canoeing and kayaking all along the Dronne River Valley. There are many cycle routes and beautiful walks, not to mention the huge selection of quaint French villages, wondrous chateaux and vineyards, Roman ruins, and amazing pre-historic caves to explore within easy reach across the Perigord. Day trips further afield: The UNESCO World Heritage City of Bordeaux, the amazing Dune du Pilat and the beautiful wine-producing region of Saint Emilion are all fabulous day-trip options to the SouthWest, as well as the breath-taking towns of Bordeilles and Brontome, carved into the rock-faces along the Dronne River to the North East. The famous attractions of Lascaux (with its pre-historic cave paintings) and Parc du Thot, and the wonderful chateaux and towns of Sarlat-le-Canade, Montignac, La Roque-Gageac & Domme, lay to the South East, in the environs of the Dordogne River valley and the Perigord Noir.

  • Sarah's place was amazing. Well located on a hilltop, the house was clear and had a lot of light. There was a ton of amenities making our stay very enjoyable. We really appreciated the attention to our toddlers that Sarah have with a crib and stair gates.

  • Heated floors, amazing bathrooms, stunning kitchen, great communication, fantastic towels, linen and fully equipped for all your holiday vacation requirements - just six munites drive to Riberac with a pool - truly excellent value for money would definitely visit again. Highly recommended A++

  • Unique place at a remote location. Communication was great, problems were solved directly when needed. the accomodation itself has excellent facilities and the outside facilities are great for sitting with your friends/family. would recommend this place for sure and will come back in the future!

    Pim2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time, the house is so beautiful, comfortable and very stylish. The area is great. We particularly enjoyed the kayaking in Riberac and just generally relaxing in the countryside.

    Emma2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed as a family of three with a 15 month old. The house is so warm and welcoming. Sarah sent through a list of all the toddler items at the house and this was great as it meant we didn’t need to bring much with us for our young one. We spent our days chilling at the house with the pool and playground and went on day trips throughout the Dordogne. Sarah is a brilliant host and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Les Tilleuls.

Charming 2 bedroom Gite in a village setting in South West France on the Charente/Dordogne border set in mature gardens of 1/2 acre with the owners property. Offering an above ground pool with decking, games room within main barn, even a traditional French Boules court. A short walk to an excellent bar/restaurant.
The Gite is on a generous site of 1/2 an acre. The owners property is also available for rental in July, August and September here -www.airbnb.com/rooms/21586092
  • Very nice house with small private outdoor garden, and large shared garden very nice. The house is really comfortable and Jeff & Debra are very caring for their guests. Do not hesitate if you wish to rest in this beautiful countryside.

    Romain2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice clean gite. Lots to do in the garden and the game room. Toys for the youngest children. The trampoline was a winner for us. The gite itself was well equipped, with a beautiful private garden and lots of space. If you go oyut, go to Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, a very beautiful city with a river beach. There is another river beach that we have not visited. And there is a lake (25 min. Drive) which is very nice. We also visited Bordeaux, a 1.5-hour drive away, well worth the effort. We had a great time and would definitely recommend it.

Our air bnb is situated in an ancient courtyard and is in the heart of the beautiful Charentaise countryside. The decor is rustic chic. Guests have the sole use of the terrace small garden and secluded pool, reached by a pathway bordered by flowers and trees. Many outdoor activities are available locally. We are near the beautiful village of Aubeterre with its fabulous river beach. Local supermarkets sell excellent French food and wines. Our airbnb is for travellers who love rural France.
  • Our first experience with AirBandB was a great success in every way. We had lived in the area and were there to see old friends and buy some french wines. We were made to feel very welcome by Antoinette and her husband. The Gite was exactly as described and what we needed with plenty of space and amenities. Any small need was very quickly responded to and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • A very gracious host and fun chateau. Highly recommend!

    Tyler2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great holiday in the Antoinette cottage, well located and quiet. Our hosts were discreet but very helpful. Whenever we needed something, they were responsive and effective. The terrace and the pool are not adjacent to the cottage but you just have to cross a courtyard to access it and the whole was entirely private. We will probably come back next time!

    Pascale2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Antoinette and her family are charming and attentive hosts. They put at our disposal all the necessary equipment for our two young children. The accommodation is cute, tastefully decorated in a rustic style, the garden is pretty and very nice, and the pool is very nice (we had the exclusive use throughout the week). Antoinette's house is located opposite, right next to the garden, however, our hosts took care to respect our privacy during our stay while remaining available when needed. The village of Aubeterre is quite close (very nice place, with a beach to bathe in the Dronne). We recommend without hesitation to enjoy a quiet stay in the countryside.

  • House in the middle of the countryside but with all shops 15 minutes by car. Nice house well decorated and the welcome is warm with a little attention on arrival. The garden for children is great trampoline sandbox pool bowling .. And so on. Activities nearby enough and when you do not want to move, the garden with activities for children allows us to relax. Good address.

  • Charming country house with a British atmosphere both for decoration and guests! Warm welcome and availability of guests for advice on discovering the region. Exterior and interior equipment at the height of the photos!

    Céline2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Chez Siggers is a beautiful house- although it looks lovely in the photos, they don't do it justice because it is even better in reality. It is lovely and spacious and also full of character, being a renovated 16th century building. The owners were very friendly and quick to respond to any queries we had from the moment we booked onwards. There were plenty of the things you would need for your stay, plus unexpected lovely additional touches. The house is less than half an hour to lovely river beaches, and a beautiful lake beach is about half an hour away. There are pretty towns with markets, restaurants and tasty boulangeries just a short drive away. The village itself is very peaceful. There is a fantastic games room, plus there was access to TV and film via smart TV. There was a lovely plunge pool to cool off in and plenty of outdoor toys (including a trampoline) to keep both kids and adults entertained when they weren't relaxing in the spacious gardens. We would definitely recommend!

  • Adorable cottage in which one feels good, with swimming pool and games very appreciable! The owners are very nice and discreet, we feel good!

    Elisa2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Siggers in Palluaud. A pretty little village in Charente, on the edge of Périgord. In the surroundings, many exceptional sites to visit. The area is beautiful. The welcome of Debra and Jeff, although speaking only English is very warm. They gave us nice touches, and their house is very quiet. A 16th century stone house with a large garden, a games room, a swimming pool ... the place is charming! We recommend this address. Thanks again to Debra and Jeff !!

  • Guylaine is a lovely person who could not do enough for us all week. His house is beautifully renovated and in a beautiful setting. Week relaxing and comfortable, everything was perfect despite a small pool problem that did not stop us from swimming every day! Thank you Guylaine !!

  • Myself and my family had a wonderful time here. The property is a beautiful old stone building that has been recently renovated to a high standard inside. We particularly enjoyed the kitchen which is large and very well equipped, although we also enjoyed cooking outside on the BBQ. Lovely garden and outdoor area where we ate outside every evening. The large pool is also a huge highlight of the property complete with sun loungers and lilos perfect for cooling off in every day. The garden is very pretty and full of beautiful flowers and there is a lot of space which would be great for kids. Our host Guylaine was great throughout the whole trip. She was there to greet us when we arrived and explained everything about the property. She was also available on WhatsApp throughout the trip in case we had any questions. She is very friendly and helpful and has really thought about everything to make sure your stay is enjoyable. The property is very private and is located in a small hamlet very much in the countryside so you are away from it all with only the sound of the birds and some sheep and chickens! St-Severin is a short drive away and has a boulangerie and Spar which we found most convenient for food shopping although there are larger supermarkets if you go slightly further. You are also a short drive away from Aubeterre with lovely restaurants and shops. There are lots of good spots nearby for swimming in the river and also places for renting kayaks. You can also take trips slightly further afield to places like Brantôme and Perigueux. A superb property for families or large group of friends to spend some time together. We had such a great time and would love to go back next year!

  • Celine and her husband were very pleasant, kind and helpful hosts. Celine was able to fit us in at very short notice and was very responsive on message which I appreciated when we were desperate to find accommodation last minute. Her and her husband were very patient with out poor level of french and very warm and friendly. The house is perfectly located down a very quiet road in the countryside and is beautifully quiet. It is a big farmhouse and the room is a large basic room on the ground floor within the couple's home. There is a separate toilet and separate shower on the same level. We were not sure if these were communal or private to us. If you need total privacy or a place all to yourself then it may not be the place for you as you are obviously within someone's home. However Celine and her husband were very discreet and gave us complete privacy whilst also clearly being available if we needed them though we honestly had everything we needed! Celine's place is about 10 mins from Aubeterre-sur-dronne where they have really lovely restaurants. It's a great location and such great value for money. The bed was also very comfortable and the wifi also seemed to work well!

  • Stopping at Céline is the assurance of a sensitive encounter and a warm welcome in simplicity. House very clean.

  • Céline was very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble, I had a great stay at her place and it was in the perfect location. Very close to the wedding venue I was attending in a quiet secluded area. Céline's communication was fantastic and she even set up an extra bed for us at very short notice.

  • We are delighted to have stopped in this charming house of a quiet country house. Céline "coached" us from a distance because she could not be present. Everything went perfectly. Simplicity, beauty and authenticity of sunrises through the large walnut courtyard. Calm assured. We highly recommend. Especially since the price is particularly attractive.
