I agree with all the previous reviews! Ilana's cottage is immaculately clean, well equipped and beautifully situated. We received a lovely welcome from Christophe. Things I liked that have not been previously mentioned include: All the cleaning products are either Lilly's or Ecover (or equivalent). There is a chess set, books about hiking around Sheepshead and a beautiful chart of Dunmanus Bay on the wall. Also I liked sitting in the sun room and watching the water in the bay. I can't say enough good things. The wonders of this cottage have to be seen to be believed.

Our stay was wonderful. The weather was perfect, and the place is absolutely breathtaking, with stunning views of both the sunrise and sunset right from the house! Since the moment we made the reservation, we were very well assisted—Robert answered all our questions and provided helpful information about the location, tourist attractions, and support points in the area. The house is excellent—very well equipped and spotless! Mrs. Catherine was incredibly kind, warm, and attentive. I sent a message informing her that the electric kettle had stopped working, and in less than 10 minutes she arrived with a new one. She also helped us with the hot tub and even brought a barbecue grill so we could enjoy a proper barbecue. Her service and attention were 10/10! It was an amazing experience for our family, who came all the way from Brazil and whom we hadn’t seen in over three years.

What an amazing opportunity this was. Avril and Wayne's home is in an absolutely stunning location, has everything you need to feel at home, and as they say is the perfect place to switch off, and switch on. Communication was great from the start, even before we arrived. And Wayne met us to show us around. When a storm rolled in one of the neighbours called in to check up on us. We felt very supported. Sitting in front of the fire as the light dimmed over the ocean was incredible. As others mention, bring all your supplies, including firewood/logs, in case you feel so relaxed you don't have to leave.

What can I say, we had the most magical stay at the Rock Cottage. The entire grounds from the cottage, to the many walkable garden trails, the lovely golden retrievers Saffron & Elsa were great company for our dog buddy, the ponies, chickens and donkey! The beds are so comfortable, the kitchen is pristine and the cottage is so comfortable & cosy. We enjoyed our stay so much it was a great base for exploring the Mizen peninsula. Jacqueline & Jonathan were fantastic hosts though out our stay, 5* stay!!
