Villa vacation rentals in Playa Avellana

First of all, I have traveled around the world and stayed in numerous Airbnb and this ranks as one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Clean, beautiful, decadent…and the kitchen has absolutely everything you need in order to cook! Beds were extremely comfortable, high-end mattresses and the pool was kept clean and the air conditioning was ice cold! Only a three minute walk to a mind blowing beach. Thank you Adam, wonderful stay and lifelong memories were made here!

We spent a month at Claire's place and it was so relaxing ! The house is beautiful, fully equipped and peaceful surroundings. Waking up to hummingbirds and the sound of monkey was a wonderful experience. We went there with 2 babies and a toddler the house was equipped with a high chair and a travel crib which was perfect. The pool and the house were cleaned weekly to ensure we had a clean environment. The king size beds are truly comfortable and the bunk beds are a great addition for families with young kids (even though they were a bit squeaky !). The only detail that wasn't a 10/10 was the wifi that was patchy and the smart TVs that were really slow and would close unexpectedly. Claire and Christophe were really friendly and would always answer our questions quickly. I would recommend to anyone who visits Costa Rica to book Villa Loulou without hesitation !

My family had a wonderful stay here! Check in and out was easy breezy with the helpful instructions. The garden, pool and firepit was definitely the highlight of the property. The location felt secure and private. The house conveniently had beach chairs, cooler and other supplies for outings to the beach. A super short drive to the beach and main street (probably could have walked but with a kid it was simpler to drive). We certainly recommend a stay here on your trip to Tamarindo. Pura Vida!

Villa Melina es un lugar espectacular, la casa es hermosa y muy espaciosa, la piscina es muy amplia, me preocupaba que por ser abierta algunas zonas como el comedor hubiera mucho mosquito, pero ni siquiera los hay. Todo estaba súper limpio y está muy bien equipada para cocinar o pasar unos días muy agradables. Mi familia lo disfruto tanto, la ubicación muy buena ya q es privada pero a la vez hay mucha playas cerca como Conchal, Brasilito, etc. Solo recomiendo q si vienes de San José asegúrate q si pones Huacas como en las recomendaciones se el correcto, yo me desvié hora y media a un Huacas q no era, y no me percaté del error y no conozco bien la zona. Pero en resumen recomiendo 1000% Villa Melina y pienso volver.

Very nice home in Playa Grande. Kitchen very well equipped. Owner and management team really reactive and helpful. Nice cooking class held directly in the house.

Our stay was perfect. The house is spacious and clean. Our favorite part of the house was the backyard with its pool and sitting area. Mornings and evenings very peaceful. Beach club is located 1.5 miles away easy to run, walk, bike or drive to. Close by good eating options at Fuego vivo or La Floresta Cafe (great coffee, breakfast and pastries). Viktor was great with communication and easy to deal with. Highly recommend Viktor and his house.

Our vacation was amazing — we truly enjoyed every moment! The place was beautiful, modern, and cozy. It’s close to several supermarkets, pharmacies, and just a short drive to downtown Tamarindo. Honestly, we loved it so much and we definitely want to come back!

We had an amazing stay at Steve’s beautiful Villa in Tamarindo! I was there with 6 friends for 2 nights, and everything from check-in to check-out was smooth and hassle-free. The villa was clean, spacious, and even better than the photos—perfect for a group getaway. The layout made it easy for us to relax together and unwind. The location was great—close enough to the beach and town to enjoy all the action, but tucked away just enough to feel private and peaceful. Steve was an excellent host—super responsive, helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Tamarindo with a group! Would absolutely stay here again.

Amazing House in Costa Rica - My family and I just had the most amazing vacation in Tamarindo and this house exceeded all of our expectations. The design, thoughtfulness put into every element, and cleanliness were incredible. The house was the perfect balance between peace and privacy while being conveniently close to both the beaches and downtown. The inside was gorgeous and made coming back after each day of activities feel like coming home. The outside of the house, with the infinity pool, ocean views and perfect chairs for enjoying the sunsets and stargazing, were fantastic. On top of it all, the host, Alejandro, was incredible. He went above and beyond to ensure we felt comfortable and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. He was incredibly responsive and offered great recommendations for local activities, restaurants, and hidden gems in the area. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay during our time in Costa Rica. We highly recommend it!

The home was beautiful and well maintained. Dana, Melissa and Cris were great and always available. They assisted with booking an ATV tour and estuary tour. Dana was a great cook and housekeeper (she even helped my daughter with some math homework!).

We had a wonderful stay with 8 guests. The house is exactly as it appears in the photos, organized with 3 primary bedrooms around the central pool area. There is a fourth bedroom with 4 bunk beds. All of the bedrooms have their own bath/shower areas. The large living area has a big glass door that slides open to create an indoor/outdoor experience. We loved having breakfast prepared each day. We thought it might not be needed every day. However, after the first day, we decided it was too good to pass up, allowing us to relax every morning around the pool, drinking delicious coffee until the food was prepared. We would also highly recommend having a golf cart. It was delivered prior to our arrival and made trips in and out of town super easy. The location of the house is great. You can access either Playa Longosta or Playa Tamarindo through gates that are short walk from the house. The folks at the front gate to the neighborhood can give you the code. Overall, this is a great house!

This Airbnb is beyond gorgeous! The pictures don’t do it justice, I didn’t wanna say goodbye! The area is private and secluded but my group found it best to rent a car to get around. Jennifer was a lonely host and so proactive and able to help with all your needs and requests. Can’t wait to visit again.

Katerina and Seven were wonderful and very responsive to any of our needs. We were family of 6 that rented 2 villas. The villas were beautiful and provided all of the amenities we needed. The location of the actual villa is in an area that is not fully developed but some beautiful homes are in the neighborhood that are being built. We would have liked to be closer to the beach but all was still in walking distance. Having access to the Langosta Beach Club is a great perk and we went there daily. There is lots to do with restaurants, shops, beach all nearby. We were so appreciative that Katerina managed to find us a golf cart to rent when we couldn’t get one anywhere. This made traveling around easier but you can still manage without one. We absolutely loved Tamarindo and hope to be back again. Katerina gave us may suggestions to make our stay even better with restaurants and things to do. We would recommend Maitri for your Tamarindo vacation!

Nathalie and Nicolas were possibly the best hosts I’ve ever had in all my stays through Airbnb. They were beyond helpful and just the nicest people. Their home was beautiful, relaxing and their staff was lovely. It felt like we were home, everything we needed was there organized and on hand without clutter. Will definitely come back. Adding that we travelled with 3 small children and they made it SO much easier, which isn’t something that is easy for those who have done it.

Paula was an amazing host who helped us a lot during our wonderful two month stay. The house was full of toys and the neighborhood very friendly.

My family loved this charming villa. Stephanie was an amazing host! She was very responsive from the time we booked and throughout our visit. Both Stephanie and David are lovely people, and they truly cared about us, our comfort and safety. We spent most of our time in the pool which we very much enjoyed. So many other wonderful things about this property including the barbecue, courtyard, hammocks, and a bathroom connected to each bedroom. We also had fun playing with Venga the cat! The property itself was a bit challenging to find because we arrived at night, but the instructions were clear and easy to follow. We rented a big SUV which was very useful when trekking to different excursions. For anyone visiting the Playa Grande area, we would highly recommend this villa. Stephanie will take great care of you.

When possible I do my best to rent properties that are only few steps away from the beach, this time I did an exception though and I don't regret it, Helen's place is in the top 3 of best airbnbs we have rented in Guanacaste, it's a nice and safe property with a covenience location and a very straight forward check-in. Playa Grande is not close enough to reach it out on foot but by car it's only about five minutes away, ah! and it is worth mentioning you can see the sea from the distance from the property's balcony!

We felt super relaxed as soon as we arrived at Casa Buenas Vibras. The place is amazing- very spacious and extremely clean and we felt right at home. Ian was very responsive with our queries and I would definitely recommend staying here. It’s just a short drive to some wonderful beaches, bars and restaurants so there’s lots to do. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here!

We absolutely loved Casa Feliz. The pictures online do not do justice. It is absolutely gorgeous in person. We saw so much wildlife around the property and loved how it was private and away from everything but still close to the beach and restaurants. Claire was an accommodating and amazing. We were so sad to leave and can’t wait to be back! It was a privilege to stay at such a beautiful place! we highly recommend

Wij hebben hier een week verbleven met onze peuter en het was heerlijk! Het huis is heel schoon en heel goed uitgerust, aan alles is gedacht! Goed uitgeruste keuken; wasmachine en faciliteiten om schoon te maken, uitgebreid beddengoed, handdoeken en doeken voor het strand. Echt heel comfortabel en prettig, zeker met een gezin! Ik raad deze accommodatie zeker aan voor families met kleine kinderen. Het huis is ruim en smaakvol ingericht. Ook het contact met de host verliep goed en makkelijk, ze reageren heel snel en zijn vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Iets om rekening mee te houden is dat de grotere supermarkten wat verder weg zijn (30 minuten rijden ongeveer) dus bijvoorbeeld op de dag van aankomst is het verstandig vooraf boodschappen te doen. Het huis ligt een beetje afgelegen, maar er zijn genoeg mooie stranden en leuke restaurantjes vlakbij!

Excelente hospedaje, Doris y su familia son personas muy amables y siempre se mostraron dispuestos a ayudarnos. Nos dieron recomendaciones de la zona y nos ayudaron con lo que solicitábamos. Lugar privado muy cercano a la playa, 100% recomendado!

HIDDEN GEM! As self-proclaimed “bougie” travelers who usually stay in luxury resorts, this home blew us away. Nestled in the gated Tamarindo Park, it’s just up the hill from the beach and main town. The four of us had plenty of space for downtime, and the furnishings were stunning—clearly chosen with care to feel like a home, not just a rental. The pool was a dream, especially after surfing all day or stargazing at night. Landscaping was lush and beautifully maintained, and we felt completely safe throughout our stay. No creepy crawlies—just the distant howler monkeys in the early morning! Viviana and her team were incredibly kind and responsive. We rented a golf cart but could’ve walked to town easily. This home completely changed how we feel about Airbnbs vs. resorts—it was better than perfect. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!
