This is the second time we have stayed there and we'll be coming back! What a great place, it's private, beautiful, peaceful and completely functional and great hiking!

My husband and I totally enjoyed our time at the Love Shack! The host provided clear and precise instructions on preparing for this off-the grid opportunity. The great news, we had a heater that let us warm for the November weather. Plus, the bed was super comfy! We will be back!

The location was absolutely amazing. It was incredibly peaceful, thoughtfully set up, and surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. After a long trip, being able to relax in the sauna was a truly special experience and one that I would highly recommend to anyone. The space itself is stunning, with plenty of land to wander and explore. There are fruit trees throughout the property, along with an abundance of nature that makes the whole setting feel calm and rejuvenating. What really made the stay exceptional were the hosts. They were not only welcoming and kind, but they also went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. Their attention to detail and care made me feel completely at home and turned this stay into one of the true highlights of my entire trip.

This place was a perfect getaway spot! The home is clean and the decor is very cute. Large kitchen with all amenities necessary to cook meals while there. Beds more firm than I’m used to, but still very comfortable and cozy. Comfy blankets, sheets, and pillows also. Location was fantastic and rustic with few neighbors. Private access to beautiful little lake with dock and a variety of boats to explore with. Flies and mosquitos could be intense at times, so we really enjoyed relaxing outside within the protections of the screened in porch. Very peaceful and relaxing trip, thanks to this gem. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Wow! This place was spotless, bed was comfy with lots of pillows, cute coffee bar, huge TV and really hot shower with lots of pressure (soap, shampoo and conditioner provided). Loved the cellphone holder on the wall by the shower!! The fenced in back patio and yard area were a bonus for us. Frederick sent very clear instructions to access the unit and checked on us after our first night. I reached out ahead of our arrival with a few questions, he was very responsive! Rizzo (my dog) and I came up to Michigan to hunt for rocks. The location was great for a home base for day trips. We visited Agate Beach park, Calumet Waterworks beach, Sand Point Lighthouse, Gratiot River County beach, F.J. McLain State Park, Eagle River Beach, Champion Mine Dump, Marquette, Presque Isle park, Nara Nature Park, Little Girls Point and the Champion mine ruins. If you’re looking for quiet, clean and comfortable, this is it!

absolutely gorgeous off grid cabin with everything a glamper could want. an SUV or similar off roading capability vehicle is an absolute MUST. the path in is almost waist deep mud, our SUV was skidding all over the place. definitely are going to need a lot of tic and bug spray too, this is undisturbed nature. the views and privacy however are unmatched. we'll definitely be returning!

Diane was very responsive to all of our questions. The view and vibe were fantastic, we really loved our rustic stay in the UP, complete with peak foliage and tons of wildlife. Kitchen is fully stocked, sauna gets hot, couch is comfy. A couple of things which are noteworthy, the cottage is not really in the populated part of L’Anse so going to the store/town is 20 min each way. There is a bunch of firewood outside to use which is very convenient. The waterfront fire ring seemed to be in the neighbors yard so we were unsure and didn’t use it, didn’t see any outdoor chairs to use around it either, was probably and oversight on our part and I’m sure if asked, this would have been answered right away :). The extra cottage is not attached and a little bit of a walk from main house, not ideal if traveling with kids fyi, but clearly stated in description. Everything is comfy and relaxing and we would come back here. Thank you.

An absolutely wonderful cabin to get away and relax. The cabin itself is very comfortable, welcoming, accommodating, and well laid out. The views from the cabin and back yard are stunning--we caught some incredible sunsets over the lake. We also loved the spacious and private beach space, where we did some paddle-boarding but primarily just kicked back. It's hard to beat a calm summer evening, grilling and eating dinner with Lake Superior as the backdrop. This cabin is perfect for that. Anne was a great host--she gave us all the info we needed ahead of time and was very responsive throughout. Would definitely visit again!
