Best deal on Airbnb at least on the Yucatan ! A comfortable, two room accomadation, cute little backyard. we loved being away from the tourist hustle. we didn't have a car but Bacalar is easily reachable by collectivo or taxi.

This place was beautiful - perfect for a couple of nights to relax in Bacalar. The hosts are super friendly, attentive, welcoming, kind and provide lots of helpful recommendations. The room is more compact than photos but is very comfortable. I really enjoyed the outdoor space in the evenings to relax in with my book as well as the delicious breakfast on both mornings in a very calm setting of the house grounds.

Lulu was such a warm, inviting host who made us feel at home in Bacalar. She was open to getting to know us and tell us about her own life, and even took us out on the lagoon, telling us about the nature and spirit of this place. She is clearly very connected to Bacalar and you can feel it immediately. We felt very well taken care of. We also did one of her cacao ceremonies, which was a very special & profound experience - would recommend it to anyone more spiritually inclined. On a practical level, Lulu (and her assistant, Cynthia) was also very responsive to messages and providing whatever was needed in the space. The location was also great - the nearby eco park (3 min walk) was one of the most beautiful lagoon access spots, much quieter than other areas. The main square is also not far and we found everything to be walkable. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

I hesitated for a long time before leaving a positive review in order to keep this precious place to ourselves but hey they deserve it so much! It was a wonderful stay, in an incredible setting, facing the lagoon, with pontoon and kayaks available. The true spirit of an Airbnb, homestay, with great hospitality from Gloria and Olivier. Plan to use a car to get to the city center. Thanks again!

It was a really good stay, the place is very nice and tidy, I would go back there without hesitation and it has a lot of things nearby, everything was perfect

Excellent weather, a very quiet and comfortable place. There was no noise and it allowed a good rest. You could take a tour directly from the hotel, the boat arrived for you, making it comfortable, practical and entertaining. Finally, Ana was extremely friendly, very good recommendations and made us feel right at home.

I stayed here with 2 friends after a week in a hostel downtown Bacalar. Despite being out of the center, casa cacao was so peaceful and extremely comfortable. We were so glad to have booked based on great reviews and such a good rate. The space was very clean and comfortable for 3. The shower was consistently hot and the AC was the perfect respite. Once you get your bearings, the walk down to the lagoon is actually quite nice. We enjoyed grabbing a coffee or lunch at Chen - only a couple blocks away. Cabs are always around to get you where you need. Our favorite part was the sweet garden and friendly cats. Having 2 outdoor tables was so nice, one of which has a fan and lights overhead. It is clear that Mario and Ana have thoughtfully tended to their home and gardens. We often saw hummingbirds visit the flowers. We stayed for 4 nights and were sad to leave! Having the hosts right next door made us feel right at home!
