Cottage vacation rentals in Nevada County

Our best winter (Christmas trip) yet! My family & I have been spending Christmas week in Tahoe for years and this home is the first property that we want to come back to again! It is a mixture of the listing is a home and has all the comforts of an actual home. The location is amazing for skiing, dinning, shopping and still being walkable to "backcountry" trails. Lel is an amazing host and her heart to serve is what makes staying there that much better. She really took care of us for some of our winter adventures! As an Airbnb host myself, Lel's place (including her as a host) is the full package!

This place was much bigger than we needed but it allowed pets and that was our main criteria so we could have a long weekend as a family. That said, the place was amazing!! Exactly as pictured and no surprises. Everything was clean but more importantly, everything was comfortable....the upstairs bed had me asleep in minutes. With so many places to sleep, we talked about inviting extended family back some time to skiing at Palisades and staying here... it would be PERFECT! Neighbors are also so very friendly and awesome. Caterina was checking in to make sure we were okay and very responsive to me. Money well spent for a much needed get away to the mountains!

Great location with a 5 min walk to Kings Beach, and house was exactly as described. Super responsive hosts and good communication to get in and out.

Darling little cottage. The space had everything we needed and then some. My kids loved the darts and foosball table. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. If we ever visit again, we would definitely stay here.

The name says it all, this place will help you achieve absolute Zen! The house is very clean and comfortable and the host, Lisa, is the kindest, most welcoming and accommodating host we've ever had!! Whenever we need an escape from the city this is our go-to place!! We hope to visit again soon!!

Perfect place for a ski week! Sarah was very responsive and attentive, and the cabin was private and well-maintained. Could not have asked for a better location.

It's remote and peaceful. A great place if you have dogs that need to be walked. No traffic. The road getting to it is a bit rough with speed bumps so just go slow thru the neighborhoods and you won't have any issues. We had everything we needed and more!

From the moment we arrived, they were incredibly welcoming, warm, and thoughtful hosts. In the morning, they surprised us with fresh eggs straight from their chicken coop — such a sweet and personal touch that made us feel completely at home. The property itself is breathtaking. The view is absolutely stunning — one of those rare places where you just want to sit still and soak it all in. Every detail was thoughtfully prepared, and the peaceful atmosphere made it feel like a true retreat. Tal and Audra go above and beyond. Their kindness, hospitality, and attention to detail make this one of the best Airbnb experiences we’ve ever had. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Andreas place was a nice quiet getaway! Was nice and clean and Andrea is around and very responsive to help with anything.

Great place for a couple to get away. Tidy layout, nice area, everything you need close to hand. It was storming pretty heavily when we stayed and it was really fun to watch it out the windows and hear it on the roof!

Tracy and J.P. are absolutely amazing hosts! Warm, welcoming, and thoughtful in every way. Their home is beautiful, peaceful, and full of charm, and their dogs, Kona and Piper, are simply adorable! If you’re a dog lover, you’ll feel right at home and completely loved - our dogs had the best time too! The neighborhood is quiet and lovely, with kind and helpful neighbors that make the stay even more special. This is one of those rare places that leaves a lasting impression. I wouldn’t just recommend it, I’m already looking forward to coming back!

We were going to a mountain wedding, and Sharon’s place was recommended to us by a family member. It was absolutely beautiful. The place was spotless. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware, coffee pods and tea. She did suggest to get groceries before getting into town, which was very helpful. There was a cool game room which was a great touch. We all commented how well the house was decorated. It made for a warm welcome. The outdoor area was so relaxing, and there were nice places to walk and see beautiful wildflowers. We had an amazing stay, and would definitely rent again if we were in the area.

Lovely and intimate home, squeaky clean with all the amenities you could need and touch of that rustic charm you go to the Sierras for. The Casita allows for privacy (and keeping snorers apart) while functioning as a nice little hangout and sunroom in its own right. Rebecca is an excellent and responsive host as well - you can trust her recommendations. I went for the peace and quiet and got exactly what I was looking for. Spent a wonderful few days reading and working on crafting hobbies with the music of raindrops and the warmth of the gas stove heater. Being able to see neighboring properties kept it from feeling isolated, while the pitch black nights and silence helped feel remote. I would advise planning your meals and bringing supplies, since weather can make getting into town a bit harder, but if you don't, the Mother Truckers convenience store has everything you could need, from fresh produce to organic ice cream.

Great host with excellent communication, and the house offered plenty of privacy for a relaxing stay.

Clean, and cozy in a compact footprint. Great location…close to bike path and walk across the street to the lake. Perfect for us with a couple exceptions…no A/C, which was advertised in the description, however the cabin faced the sun during the day and acted like a greenhouse during the day, some of the pillows were stinky, counter space in kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom were very limited. Great for our family of 4, would likely stay here again.

Beautiful and immaculate cottage in gorgeous surroundings. The management were responsive when I called when questions. The beach access was close and we basically had the whole beach to ourselves. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a great experience all the way around. The location is great. Right on the bike trail and super close to the lake. Can ride bikes on the trail all the way to Meeks Bay if you want or into Tahoe city. The housekeeping team did a great job getting the unit ready for us. We had a couple of questions during our stay and Emily was available to help via phone late on a Friday afternoon and on a Saturday AM. I would highly recommend.

Loved how close the house was to the sweet downtown area, which is filled with restaurants and cafes and shops. And was grateful for all the amenities that were provided from spotless linens to everything you could possibly imagine needing in the kitchen. Also really appreciated the hosts’ responsiveness.

We had a fantastic time! The house is 5 minutes from the beach, walking distance to restaurants and miniature golf. The home was super clean and had all the needed amenities and some. The washer/dryer was a plus. My 8 year old daughter loved the loft upstairs. We are excited to stay again.

We LOVED our stay at Elany’s place. It felt right at home. There was a beautiful view from the balcony - every morning I woke up to hear birds singing. The place is really spacious - it is bigger than it looks in the pictures. There’s a bath tub in the bathroom. The kitchen has everything you need to cook. Elany gave us a lot of recommendations where to go and what to do (we enjoyed hiking in the nearby area). The house is well located - just about 10 minutes to Grass Valley. We would definitely recommend it!
