Cottage vacation rentals in Nevada County

Our best winter (Christmas trip) yet! My family & I have been spending Christmas week in Tahoe for years and this home is the first property that we want to come back to again! It is a mixture of the listing is a home and has all the comforts of an actual home. The location is amazing for skiing, dinning, shopping and still being walkable to "backcountry" trails. Lel is an amazing host and her heart to serve is what makes staying there that much better. She really took care of us for some of our winter adventures! As an Airbnb host myself, Lel's place (including her as a host) is the full package!

This lovely home was the perfect place for a relaxing weekend - the fireplace, hot tub and beautiful fenced backyard were incredible, and the well-stocked kitchen were the cherry on top. Tom abs Margie were incredibly communicative & generous hosts. Would absolutely recommend, we are already talking about our return trip!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location was perfect, close to everything we needed, and the host was very friendly and helpful. We truly enjoyed our time there and would definitely love to come back. Highly recommended!

I just don’t know where to start. This is a great house where I don’t wanna share with other people… haha. Commutation with Lisa - friendly and quick response - excellent. Perfect place for a ski week! Sarah was very responsive and attentive, and the cabin was private and well-maintained. Could not have asked for a better location.

In most things, getting the details right, is difficult. Sarah knocked it out of the park. This place is so thoughtfully put together. From the well appointed kitchen, to the great bedding, and the clear instructions, this place was so welcoming and comfortable. The location is very private and peaceful. We enjoyed using this place as a base to do daily excursions to some great snowy places for snowshoeing. We said, multiple times this weekend to each other, “I love this place and we should come back here soon!”.

I enjoyed this visit so much. The area and property are both a beautiful place to get away from the noise yet still close enough to be 15 minutes from groceries while still being secluded. The hosts are gems, and they leave you with fresh eggs from their chickens! The property was quiet, and the sounds of frogs and birds were soothing in the night air on the balcony. I’ll be back during the summer!

I took a solo weekend trip with my dog to Grass Valley and Andrea’s cottage was all I could have needed and more! The space was pristine. The grounds were gorgeous. And the dog friendly suggestions were appreciated. We loved watching the birds and squirrels from the comfort of the cottage and taking walks around the peaceful neighborhood. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Great place for a couple to get away. Tidy layout, nice area, everything you need close to hand. It was storming pretty heavily when we stayed and it was really fun to watch it out the windows and hear it on the roof!

Nice place, great location, and fun for the kids (with board games and arcade). The place was clean and spacious. Sharon is a great host. Will definitely rent out this place in the future.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage! JP and Tracy left us some light snacks and dog treats for our pup. It was such a warm welcoming! The cottage couldn't be a better location, it was exactly what we needed for a quick ski trip.

We love staying here. The house is comfortable and well equipped. There's good food and the lake/beach within walking distance. The hosts are responsive, helpful, and friendly.

This is a great home base to stay and do winter activities with kids. There's a beachside park in walking distance, along with plenty of food options and a bus stop that takes you all around Tahoe including to Northstar. My toddler loved the backyard in the snow. All the appliances worked, the heater kept the whole house evenly heated, everything was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Adorable home in the heart of Nevada City. Perfect for a short girls trip while visiting my aunt who is a longtime resident of Nevada City and also celebrating her birthday. The decor is right up our alley. We have driven by this place so many times, wanting to stay the night and it finally happened. Host is very proactive with emails and instructions. We hope to stay at her other location in the future as that is our other frequent vacation destination.

As soon as we stepped in, I knew I wanted to return. Beautifully appointed accommodation, meticulous details. Peaceful and quiet and yet very convenient to the heart of Nevada City downtown. Ione is a helpful and responsive host. A wonderful experience.

Phenomenal place if you're looking to get away from everything and enjoy your privacy. We brought or pets and they LOVED it. Super clean. Stocked with more than necessary, thoughtful things: Games, coffee, tea, etc. Highly recommend.

Regarding Denise and Jim’s rental I would say that it was peaceful serene and a very picturesque place. I got to talk with Jim for awhile and he was courteous and very friendly. I picked a great place to spend 4 nights and 5 days there. I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone who wants what I had while I was there.

Betsy’s place was perfect for our weekend away. Celebrated our 18 year anniversary. We were able to easily walk to restaurants and shops by a small trail. It was a perfect quiet weekend away! Thank you for making our stay pleasant and relaxing.
