Cottage vacation rentals in Nagano

There is a large hall, multiple toilets, and a slightly larger bathroom and shower room, perfect for large groups.It was also great to have a nice coffee shop and other restaurants and hot springs where you can see the sea of clouds in the early morning, such as Migahara and Takabuchi.It is also nice to see the stars very beautiful at night.However, if you are thinking of a BBQ, it would be better for you to be careful that there is no roof and that you use gas, and that there is a separate fee.The kitchen is simple and not suitable for large groups, but it was a bar counter and had a very nice atmosphere.There was also a barrel sauna outside that was free to use.Overall, I think it was a nice place to stay with a very strong edge on the facilities and location.We'd love to stay again if we get the chance.

It was a lovely space! The bathroom, sauna, and open-air bath were really great.I enjoyed it many times during my stay. The kitchen was also clean and well-maintained, and there were many utensils such as an oven, seasonings, rice, and eggs, so the range of cooking was expanded. Next time I'd like to go when it's snowing in winter. Thank you very much.

The environment is very comfortable, it is a Japanese countryside, on the way to the road, it is a little spoiled, and it is still a smooth arrival.

The cottage itself might not be traditional Japanese architecture but the inside definitely is. Taller people could experience some issues but it's manageable with a little care. The kitchen is well equipped but the space is limited and if you prepare a lot of dishes at the same time, it's quite annoying. Would definitely recommend to use a rental car because you can access most restaurants and supermarkets within a couple minutes, as by foot, it can be a real pain to walk every time you need something. Overall a nice experience and would definitely recommend for larger groups up to 6 people.

Great house for me and my 6 friends. Walking distance to the town, roughly 10 minutes Rubbish was always grabbed if put in the outside bin. Great communication Host come and cleaned house half way through our stay and also restocked towels and kitchen

Alex and Rie are kind and considerate hosts and Thunderbird Cottage is a great base for skiing around Hakuba with a family / group. The car with ski rack is a big advantage for getting around to ski resorts and restaurants / shops. The cottage and car together are good value if you are looking for a peaceful environment that’s close to everything you need. Alex and Rie provided very helpful info that assisted our plans in and around Hakuba.

Excellent place for a hideout from the city noise! Comfy place with spacious rooms! Very satisfying!

It was a great place to stay but really far from everything. We were also unable to reach a cab with taxi go or Uber. The only way we could get a ride was by calling a taxi service. It was also hard to explain the address to the taxi driver since we don’t speak Japanese. There was one time we did show the address of the Airbnb to the taxi driver and he took us far from it, we had to make a U-turn and guide him to the Airbnb. Other than that, it was a good, peaceful place.

It was all very fun as an experience.I got to the accommodation by car in the snow, and I experienced both, but it was a great memory. There were also changes, but the owner was kind and flexible in making arrangements, and I was very grateful. The worldview of the inn itself is also lovely.Thank you

This place was so cute & homie! Perfect location for our 1 night stay in Kusatsu. The cottage came with everything you need from shampoo to condiments. The host was responsive and very accommodating! 10/10

This rental is located in Kita-Karuizawa. There is a sense of openness because you can see the golf course in front of you. We enjoyed the salad powder snow during our winter stay. If you expect a wood stove to function as a heating instead of ornamental, you need more firewood than you think (I want to bring 3 bundles)

It was very good.It is a facility with a remote check-in location, so it takes time to travel from there.However, the view of the Kofu Basin from the facility was fantastic.

A rural retreat, off the tourist path, but easily accessible by train from Tokyo. We were keen for some rural Japan after quite a few stops in urban centres. The house is in a quiet, unspoilt setting. You can do short walks from the house that can include views of Mount Fuji down the valley. There's other places you can pop into too, such as the Owl Cafe or the wonderful deli/shop at the petrol station up the road. The house itself has kept its rustic and traditional appearance and features, while also having very functional equipment, from Wifi to everything you'd need for cooking. Some great places to read and relax in, from the garden to by the wood burner. We did not have car which was fine - it's just 6 minutes by taxi from the station, but a car would allow you to explore further afield. Ryo the host was very helpful with answering questions rapidly and clearly. I would highly recommend!

Keita’s place was beautiful and was his hospitality! This has been my favorite stay to date. He was so kind and helpful to us as foreigners. I highly recommend booking if you are looking to stay in this rural area. Very beautiful Fuji views!

Clean house with quiet location. Very relaxing vacation.

Hütte Boden is a cozy cottage nestled in the mountains near Mt Asama. The views of the mountains across were incredible from the porch on a clear sunny day. It has a good access to Karuizawa and Kusatsu Onsen (if one has a car). The host was very kind and friendly. She had neatly organized all the recommendations into files. The place was very cozy and we had an amazing time. She was also very considerate, with us forgetting the check out time. Definitely recommend this place for a mini vacation near Karuizawa.

Homely feeling cute cottage tucked away from the hustle and bustle, but a 8min walk right into the heart of it! Close to cafes/restaurant’s/bus stops/bars and food trucks. Everything is provided, and Takeshi responds to all our questions in a professional manner. Would stay again!

The accommodation was very comfortable. Especially around the kitchen, it was very clean, and there were plenty of dishes and cooking utensils, so it was very helpful when cooking. It was very good to experience the extraordinary experience of staying in the warehouse!

It was a very quiet and beautiful place in a villa in the forest at the foot of Mt. Yatsugatake. The room was very beautiful, fully equipped with cooking utensils, and we had a comfortable stay. I would love to use it again if I have the chance!

I stayed here to focus on some work on my laptop, and it was perfect — super quiet and private, with almost no one around. There weren’t any supermarkets or convenience stores nearby, which was a bit inconvenient, but it wouldn’t have been a problem if I had a car. Since it’s pretty deep in the mountains, next time I’d like to come with a car or a bike! The Wi-Fi was great too — I got 76Mbps download speed on the Fast speed test, so everything ran really smoothly. I’d definitely come back! 🫶❤️✨
