Sakura Ekan is a private guest house in Sakura Echo, a symbol of Shinshu, at the foot of Zenkoji Temple, a national treasure. It is located about a 5-minute walk from Zenkoji Temple. It is a modern Japanese-style building that has been renovated to take advantage of the retro atmosphere of the Taisho period architecture. On the way to Zenkoji Temple, there is the quaint Shukubo-dori, and beyond Zenkoji Temple, there is also Jojakyo Park, where Nagano citizens relax, the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum, and the Higashiyama Kaii-kan, so why not take a leisurely stroll.  There are also many cafes, bakeries, Italian, French restaurants, and eateries near the facility, making it convenient to eat out. You can also enjoy walking and eating Shinshu soba, a local favorite. There are many soba shops around Zenkoji Temple, as well as Japanese food and Starbucks. Surrounded by nature, Nagano is also popular with mountain climbers, and it's convenient for getting to Togakushi, a power spot. It is easy to go towards Nagano. Mt. Nagamine, abandoned lines, Daio wasabi, swaths, etc. are close by. Enjoy a wood-burning sauna and a stunning water bath. There are no private houses around, so you can also watch music and movies with loud noises. Since it is a house nestled in the mountains, we will do our best to take care of it, but during the warmer months, insects can be seen.It snows a lot in winter.In autumn, the leaves dance. You must also adjust the fire in the wood stove yourself. It's not an easy house to live in, but it's got an incredible view. Enjoy cooking with a kitchen counter with stunning views, condiments, and a cooker.(There is no equipment for BBQ.)

Ohinata in Sakuho-town is a small village in a valley. I renovated a 80 years small wooden house by myself taking a long time. The building used to be used for raising silkworms by farms. It was our culture and industry to get silks in this area. You can have a calm time for having Coffee and beer, reading books, listening music... The village is surrounded by nature for hiking to mountains and rivers. Some local families live in around the house, so please stay like the village people.
