Beachfront vacation rentals in Monterey Bay

Stayed with my husband and parents here for our wedding week that was happening in the area. The place was plenty spacious for 4 people! Much better than a hotel room would’ve been. Gave us quality time cooking in the kitchen and hanging out in the living room, enjoying the hottub & heated pool and the beach! The ocean view from the dining table and the front porch is STUNNING!! The place is nice, well kept, and has everything you need! Any small things that popped up, Patti was helpful and fixed right away! Would definitely stay here again!!

Sean's cottage is an absolute delight, we moved in as though it was our own home. Worth reading previous reviews mentioning building works next door. As we were prepared for this (they started 8am promptly Mon-Fri), also ants (which didn't show up) and the racoon in the bins (which did show up) none of this was an issue, and was reflected in the reduced rental. Sean was an excellent host, replied speedily to any queries, including calling a plumber for a minor problem. The cottage is the most homely of places, there's everything you could need, the kitchen is generously equipped and the beds are very comfortable. The pretty patio is full of flowers and birds. Since it was April, we were not outside in the evenings, but it seems noise is an issue with neighbours. There are polite but firm notices requesting no outside noise after 9pm which could be difficult on hot summer evenings. This was one of our favourite Airbnbs, the location is fabulous, so much to do, we were busy all the time

Liz’s rental exceeded expectations. It felt very cozy, providing that beach home feeling. The beach was a quick stroll away, and it is dog friendly! My pup and I very much enjoyed our time at Liz’s spot. Thank you for relaxing vacation Liz!

Perfect spot by the beach. Not sure it gets better to be honest! 2 flights of stairs though, so if stairs are not good for you wouldn’t recommend.

Laura’s place was spot on for our short stay. Beach was a stones throw away, which is where the kids wanted to spend their time. The place was perfect, it was clean, spacious, and well equipped. Detailed instructions for the apartment to go alongside the stay and useful local information.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time on the deck above the creek. Surrounded by beauty and the sounds of the creek created a sweet spot! The lighting was an excellent touch. The accommodations had everything that you need and the bed was extremely comfortable! We would stay again!!!

Had a wonderful and comfortable stay with 2 kids, 4 adults, and a dog. Could not be more convenient with the beach across the street and a market a short walk away. Loved the neighborhood feel to the beach and the beach market made things even more convenient. The road noise is significant but the provided white noise machines were a help. Would definitely stay here again!

Kristina’s place was absolutely beautiful and exactly as pictured. Breath taking ocean views and a short 5 minutes down to the beach. Kristina was very friendly checking in with us to make sure our trip was going good and if we needed anything. Would definitely stay here again !!! Great host great place and beautiful city !!

This neighborhood is safe and peaceful. We have stayed at The Dunes numerous times over the last 4 years. Lisa’s home is beautiful and inviting. We all felt very comfortable and relaxed. It is such a gorgeous area and the staff at the front gate is always so helpful too. I had to reach out to Lisa multiple times throughout our stay and each time her responses were quick and respectful. It was a delight to chat with her and we are definitely planning to come back and would rent this home again.

We had a fantastic stay at this property. The house was exceptionally clean and well-kept, offering a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. We especially enjoyed the relaxing walk to the beach, which was both peaceful and scenic. The complimentary cart service was a huge plus—it made it easy to take our elderly parents to the beach without any hassle. Check-in at the front desk was quick and seamless, and the staff provided friendly and attentive service throughout our stay. Overall, a smooth and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing beach getaway!

We had a wonderful short getaway at Sue’s place! The condo is just steps from the beach, pool, and jacuzzi. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was relaxing, and the ocean breeze was very refreshing. It was exactly what we needed to reset and recharge. We had a lovely weekend with our family celebrating a birthday. The place was perfect for hosting 6 of us, walking to the beach and then driving up to Capitola and other towns very close by for celebration dinners. We enjoyed staying here and would definitely recommend others to consider for a beach getaway.

I stayed here with a few of my bridesmaids while looking for a wholesome weekend getaway near Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea, and this place absolutely exceeded our expectations. The home is nestled in a beautiful, private community that felt safe, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing—perfect for unwinding and bonding before the big day. The views from the property were absolutely stunning. Whether we were sipping coffee in the morning or enjoying a glass of wine in the evening, the scenery was breathtaking and added such a magical touch to our stay. Check-in and check-out were a breeze, which made everything so smooth and stress-free. We also loved how easy it was to get around. Whether we were exploring charming shops and restaurants in Carmel-by-the-Sea or spending time along the coast in Monterey, everything was conveniently close and accessible. This spot was ideal for creating special memories, and I would absolutely recommend it.

This location is ideal for those who like easy access to hiking, walking, beach, pools etc. Also a short drive to Capitola, and Santa Cruz to the North. Views from the balcony are way better than the pictures. Stay here, you will not be disappointed.

Loved our stay and the proximity to the beach was the best. 5 min walk and beach was great. House was clean and comfortable. Kitchen was great to cook in and bbq too. Highly recommend. Loved our time in Monterey exploring Pacific Grove and Carmel and pebble beach.

We had a wonderful stay at this condo. It’s absolutely perfect and has everything you could possibly need. We were especially delighted to find chopsticks, which totally made our day since we were planning to have ramen and thought we’d have to use forks! The view from the condo is stunning, like something out of a movie, and it was such a treat to have easy access to the beach. Watching the sunset was one of the highlights of our trip. The host was very responsive and provided clear, helpful instructions for everything, from check-in and check-out to using the washer. The check-in process with the gate attendant was smooth and made us feel extra secure. Everything was super clean and thoughtfully prepared. We stayed at several Airbnbs along Route 1, and this one was undoubtedly the best. Highly recommend!

Amazing views and a peaceful location—waking up to the ocean and wildlife was unforgettable. This was our hub for exploring Carmel-by-the-Sea and Big Sur. A short 30-40 minute drive to Big Sur for hikes, and just 10 mins to downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea for great dinners. There’s also a handy general store at the bottom of the hill. A couple of notes: This is one of 4 units on the property. While listed as “entire home,” there’s a unit attached at the rear with a door that opens directly into your space through a hallway (for my wife’s peace of mind, we kept our bedroom door locked at night). Another unit is above, and one more is detached in front. That said, everyone keeps to themselves, and interaction is minimal besides maneuvering past their parked cars in the driveway. Also, screenshot the address and key code—cell service drops near the hill and the turnoff into the property is easy to miss in the dark the first time around. Thanks for hosting us, Emily & Mason! Cute cottage in beautiful calm neighborhood. Felt very safe. The house had everything we needed including a pack and play that our 4 month old used. The host was kind and responded quickly. For guests with young kids- just be aware that the curtains in the bedrooms are sheer. The sun was shining bright just after 5a which would’ve been awesome if we didn’t have our baby with us.

This is a highly recommended place to stay.

David was a fabulous host!!! He was kind, accommodating, and quick to respond! The villa was a perfect location and the view was beautiful! The location is central to the pool & spa and restaurant. The villa was top notch, with several additional high quality touches which made the stay even more enjoyable. From the YETI mugs and YETI ice box, to the JBL speaker and coffee station. The bedding and decor was gorgeous and the vibe of the villa is coastal chic and peaceful! The guest book at the villa is so unique too! I 100% recommend this villa and David! Affordable, very close to the beach and a beautiful view

Janice’s apartment had gorgeous views and was a short walk to a lovely and walkable beach. The kitchen had everything we needed to make easy meals and the whole place was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay there again!
