This is a very well kept, smaller space that makes walking into town very easy. Checking in was easy, the space was very well stocked, extremely clean, and the t.v. with an electric fireplace was an enjoyable touch. Building noise was fairly low the majority of the time and I did not personally have any issues with it. I spent 3 months here and would strongly recommend Annette as a host! I briefly had some issues with the wifi and Annette was very responsive and proactive in helping get it resolved quickly. Thank you again, Annette for helping me have a place to land for a few months, cheers!

It would be impossible to overstate the beauty of this place in the woods. The host described it as paradise, and I can’t help but agree. Although the guest house is very close to the main house, and those looking for seclusion may be disappointed, the host was sensitive to issues of privacy. The house itself is a fascinating work of architecture. Those who are familiar with the work of Frank Lloyd Wright, Antonio Gaudi, and even Mies van der Rohe, will find interesting parallels in this space. (I thought of Mies every night, getting out of the shower in front of a shadeless picture window.) The furniture inside consists of artfully selected pieces chosen especially for the space—beautiful, but not especially comfortable. I was very glad I remembered my hammock and could enjoy the forest and a book while lying under the trees rather than trying to relax inside the house. The location of the rental just above Limekiln State Park and West Side Preserve is ideal for hikers.

Weekend celebration for my wife’s birthday and Kate’s place was perfect. Situated close to a freshwater marsh, the bird sounds were incredible. East Sound not so far away and the hiking on turtleback was spectacular. Functional kitchen with everything needed. Gas fireplace in the kitchen was great for ambiance and warmth. My wife took a horse lesson with Kate and was happy to gain more experience. Would def stay again!

Our stay at Scott’s place for our 1 year anniversary was absolutely perfect. We are so happy we chose to stay outside of downtown Friday Harbor & got to enjoy the island for 3 nights. We will be back to stay here again in the future. Amazingly cozy bed, perfect deck to enjoy morning coffee, sooooo peaceful (soul healing) and we felt so welcome at Scott’s cabin. The kitchen was perfectly equipped for light bites & snacks between meals (for us) with an adorable retro refrigerator. Highly recommend for anyone that is looking to enjoy downtown Friday Harbor + all of the surrounding spots on the island ( Roche Harbor, Westcott Bay Shellfish Farm, Cattle point Road/lighthouse, English Camp, etc). Each stop felt like a very easy drive, and we saw so much unexpected beauty. Thank you very much to Scott and his wife for the PERFECT stay.
