Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Lake Mendota

Super cute place! Having the 4 bedrooms was great for our small group of girls. The dining and living room had the right amount of seating. We didn’t have to hop in the car to explore town. All the restaurants and shops were within walking distance but the location was on a side street so it felt private. I definitely recommend Deb’s place!

Seamless process, comfortable home, very close to skiing. A private and peaceful country home.

Plenty of room to eat and hang out for bigger families. Great basement with games and toys for kids-adults. Well stocked for cooking at home. Comfortable beds and multiple bathrooms very convenient for groups.

Great Place!! felt right at home. The location is perfect as it is minutes from the main highway, going to Janesville or Madison was a breeze, also Local restaurants and bars within walking distance. The house itself is beautiful, rooms are big and the playroom was a hit with the kids and parents as is it next to the living room therefore making it easy to keep an eye on them while in the kitchen or living room. Thanks so much, traveling from Colorado, NC, and Fl to meet in this beautiful house made our family wedding a core memory.

Beautiful home with classic wood trim and hardwood floors in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to arterial roads and all Madison has to offer, and the cafe and farm-to-table restaurant a few blocks away are fantastic. Amy is friendly and communicates clearly, and the dining and living room areas are perfectly set up for a group of old friends to reunite and catch up. Amy's place is the first one I'll look for the next time I visit Madison!

We were in the area for a family wedding. Decided to pull our own boat down to experience Lake Geneva. The home itself was much bigger than I imagined from pictures. Its clean. Its basic. No frills. So if you are looking for frills, probably not the place for you. There was room to park our boat off the street. The fenced in back yard with deck, table with umbrella was such a nice option. That's where we spent the majority of our time when we weren't some where else. You are just a short walk from the lake/beach area. As far as boating on the lake..... unless you like crazy busy and waves the size of deep sea fishing.... keep your boat home. (PS... we are from a very rural area, so it might just be what one is use to) The rental met all of our needs. Thank you for your hospitality

Wonderful stay with comfortable beds, great communication, Tea/coffee for the morning, new everything, and really clean. We appreciated Ben's responsiveness and that he went above and beyond to accommodate us for our 3 night stay. It is right near the U of W - Whitewater but quiet in the apartment. There was only some noise at night upstairs one of the nights. However, a quick text to Ben and he worked with them to get it quiet again. SO appreciated this stay and Ben's hosting skills! THANK YOU!

We had a wonderful stay at the Johnson! We were able to hear the band playing downstairs at the Grape Escape, but it didn't bother us one bit. There were earplugs provided, but we didn't need them. The apartment was cozy and perfect for our weekend getaway. Highly recommend staying here!

You will love Amanda’s place. Her decorating style is beautiful and her space is so comfortable. She has a natural approach to design. It is very clean. Amanda has thoughtful touches in her Airbnb. If you go out - the Airbnb is close to downtown. Amanda’s place is one you will love!

This was a second story apartment located in the downtown area. Easy walking distance to a number of eateries and within a block of the Sugar River Trail. The place was spotless and we felt right at home here. Would stay here again in the future.

Our place was spacious and clean. The furniture was very comfortable. We were able to have family gathering time in our place. There was a lot of local information. It was the best location to enjoy New Glarus downtown stores and restaurants. Diane was excellent to work with before and during our stay.

Alex was incredibly flexible with our group’s varied check-ins and check-outs. Other members of my group met him and his partner and expressed that they were both very friendly and welcoming! It is an older building so the floors squeak a bit, but I have no complaints. We enjoyed Madison and this place was perfect for our stay. The sunroom overlooking the lake was unbelievable!

If you’re looking for a quiet place to reground yourself with nature, this is it. My kids slept amazingly in the cozy beds and had so much fun playing in the hayloft. We learned a lot about farm life and snuggled all the animals. Bente is the most hospitable host I’ve met and the kind of calm and nurturing we needed. From milking the cow, hiking the sheep trails, playing with kittens and loving on Heidi the farm dog, there was plenty to do and we felt like part of the family. The kids even got to cook with one of the farmwise school groups! We will absolutely be back soon.

Loved the light natural light and openness of this unit! The big mirror was also really helpful for getting ready in the morning with multiple women sharing a bathroom. Would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful family stay (for a wedding at CVR). The place was super clean, well-appointed and lots of little extras. Our only negative was no grill (there is a community one, but too far away for it to be convenient), but we went into it knowing that, so all good. Would highly recommend staying here. Beautiful setting, water park across the parking lot. Julie was very accommodating. Great set-up for having small children with us - and we had 3 bathrooms, a bonus. Would definitely recommend this place for a stay in the Wisconsin Dells!

I was hesitant to stay on a resort without booking through the resort itself, but everything worked out perfectly! There was a snow storm during our stay, so we made good use of all of the amenities. We had zero reason to leave the condo and go outside. We stayed in and ordered pizza to the room, used the jacuzzi and ate at the resort restaurant and bar. There was even a little coffee shop and convenient store right on site. Everything surpassed our expectations- we will definitely be returning and staying here again!

Joan's daughter, Rebekah, communicated directly with me through the Airbnb app. She provided detailed check-in instructions, a phone number to contact her, etc. It seems Rebekah lives in Hawaii so please keep note of that for response times, etc. The house was comfortable, very clean, and well-appointed. Joan and Rebekah have a beautiful collection of original art, artifacts, etc. so please keep that in mind if you are bringing small children to the home. Please note that the 1st floor bedroom has a king bed and full bathroom; and the lower level has 2 twin beds in the open area, 1 full bed and 1 twin bed in the first bedroom, and 1 full bed and 1 futon in the second bedroom (including a full laundry and utility room in a closed room).

This condo was perfect for our needs! It was spacious & comfortable for 5 of us on our girls weekend away. The location is excellent for anything you want to do in the Dells area! We used the pool & hot tub which was conveniently located and added the extra relaxation we needed. We would definitely stay at this condo again!

We loved Mackenzie’s place! It was a short walk to the Ridge hotel where we were attending an event. The condo was super cozy and fit our needs perfectly. And you walk outside and can see the lake! Would definitely stay here again.

Nice kitchen, perfect place for the whole family hot tub in the room was nice touch

This was the perfect place for the Bachelor party crew! The apartment was spacious and the deck was a big hit with everybody. With so many things to do within walking distance we were never bored. The free passes to the Arcade PVP Bar below the apartment was another awesome perk and a great way to kill some time in the afternoon. I would recommend this place to anybody looking looking for a fun filled weekend in the dells who doesn't want to stay at a expensive resort.
