DIY grandmother's house, Next to shop/P1/Bike3/2Bd

TerryRating, 5 stars1 month ago
First things first: this isn’t your sleek, modern Tokyo high-rise. Grandma’s House is exactly what the name implies—a modest, older Japanese home filled with the kind of character that makes you feel rooted in history and community. The house’s architecture reflects a traditional Japanese layout, complete with sliding doors, tatami mat flooring, low ceilings, and thoughtful minimalism that gives the space a calming, peaceful energy. That said, taller guests should take note—if you’re over 5’6” (about 167 cm), be prepared to duck a bit. The ceilings and doorways are low in some parts of the house, which adds to the cozy, nostalgic feel but might be a bit tricky if you’re not used to it. For us, it was more charming than inconvenient. It reminded us that this was someone’s beloved home for decades, and that sense of warmth lives on in the space.

we spent a very pleasant 4 d'ays at Kevin's place. it's directly above their café, which is a great place to start the day. Kevin and his family we're super nice, they invited us over for dinner, which was a great experience for us as a travelling family. We also did a photoshooting with Kevin, since he is a professional photographier. The house is really spacious for Japanese standards, and has a lot of nice toys for kids. Thanks for thé nice time!

Floating on the west coast of Eta Island, rent a tea room, and rent an old folk family.

EthanRating, 5 stars1 week ago
A great escape from the city, felt like we were the only tourists on the island. It was so beautiful and such a peaceful place to hangout for a few days. This Airbnb is way way bigger than the pictures. It sort of felt like it was actually someone’s home we were living in and was a comfy stay. Highly recommend coming here with a car, there was no busses (maybe some irregular ones) and not really any taxis. Taxi costed us 3000 yen from the ferry. In the end, the hosts drove us to our ferry when we left. Was an amazing and interesting Airbnb experience, I’ve never had hosts like this! On first day they Invited us out for coffee. Last day, threw us a goodbye party and gave us tons of food. We wish we could stay here forever. Full kitchen equipped with cooking supplies and ceramic dishware. Short walk from the beach. If you don’t have a method of transportation you will sort of be stuck in the Airbnb, which isn’t so bad because it was so beautiful. Was a little confusing to locate the Ai

Large groups welcome, 60 tatami large space, rent a west coast style 1R house with loft and make it your home! Thorough cleaning! Pets are allowed!

UemuraRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
It was a very clean and comfortable stay with a bed that was easy to sleep in! It was also fully stocked with cooking utensils for cooking, and I mostly cooked on Airbnb! There is a valley nearby, and it feels good to take a walk, and there is a spot where the Japanese primroses come back beautifully from the veranda, and I was impressed!

We had a comfortable stay on the island with a relaxing time, and we had time to leave the island in no time. Here's what I felt was good. ⚫There was a transfer from arrival at the port to the inn There were even dishes, kitchen tools, and condiments that ⚫I could travel like a local. ⚫I felt the owner's high-level hospitality, such as frozen food, shochu high, water server, etc. with a focus on local Saga and Kyushu choices. ⚫I was relieved to have a direct phone call from the owner in case of an emergency ⚫Clean towels and futons ⚫The water pressure in the shower was great ⚫Detailed cleaning ⚫There were cute seashells just a short walk to the beach ⚫The sunset from the beach was beautiful It's a magnificent house with an impact⚫. It was big enough for training, camps, and retreats It was an extraordinary trip that felt unique to the island. They kindly contacted us before our stay, and we were able to stay with peace of mind. Thanks again!

Japanese garden with BBQ, fireworks, and pool, private villa [bed, Japanese-style room, pets allowed] Soranoshita Fukutsu

JocelynRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This is my second time staying here and it'll always be my top choice when I'm in the area :) The house is clean and cozy and the surrounding area is so peaceful, quiet, and dreamy. Everything is beautiful and I feel so relaxed staying here. There was a big storm the last time I stayed, but the patio is fully covered, so I got to sit outside and sip my coffee while listening to and watching the rain. The bathroom and kitchen are so well-stocked -- I haven't cooked here but the kitchen makes me want to! John is also a fantastic host who is so kind and accommodating. Highly recommend staying here if you have a chance!

Had a wonderful stay.A farm that Sadachika raised over the hand salt, a treehouse and swing handmade for my grandchildren, a beautiful view of Beppu Bay, and a starry sky like a planetarium. It was a paradise place for my two little ones, and I couldn't get into the house and play outside forever.I think it's the best environment for families with children. It was a weekend, so the kiwi hunting and camping guests were always coming and running it alone, so I seemed to be very busy, but they took care of the details. The homemade honey was also very delicious. We'd love to visit again when it gets warm again. Thanks again!

< Japanese house rental > suyasuya

RonRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
As much as this house looks good in the pictures, it surpassed our expectations in person. This was one of the most beautiful places we ever stayed in. With the bamboo forest in the back, the mountains and sakura in the front, and the Katanas in the middle ;) What more could we ask for? The hosts - Mizuki-san and Mai-san - were very nice, informative, helpful, and pleasant. We will miss stepping out in the morning to breathe the fresh mountain air and hear the river's stream. Thank you very much for a perfect stay.

[The heart of Kyushu! Free parking! 2 Japanese-style rooms with kitchens] Families with children welcome! Heated toilet & pet consultation available

憲介Rating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
It's an old Japanese house, but it's been repaired as needed and the host family has thoroughly cleaned it. Pets are allowed and there is a kitchen, but it doesn't smell. There are two rooms with Japanese tatami mats. Each has air conditioning, so you can relax. There is high-speed WiFi, but no TV. However, it is fully equipped with shampoo, detergent, and seasonings. However, as the host family told me in advance, you don't need to bring any pet items. This area is easy to walk dogs. You can get there with the exact location by following Google Maps.Parking is next to the building and is not narrow.

Hide A Way - Tanegashima Sunset Retreat -

SonjaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
What a beautiful place, the location along the coast in a quiet part of the forest, wonderful view of the ocean from a deck, inside, there is everything there that you need. In winter it can get cold, but it heats up quickly, nice bathroom, many thoughtful and beautiful decorations. The host couple were really lovely and helpful, and also open, insightful and inspiring. Thank you so much for having me and for the wonderful stay and chats!
