Our family trip from Hyderabad to Munnar (covering a good 1100 kms!) culminated in the most delightful and rejuvenating stay at Spice Lagoon Homestay in the breathtaking Bason Valley. Honestly, this homestay wasn't just good; it was beyond our expectations in every single way! Nestled amidst a lush tapestry of greenery, surrounded by towering trees and vibrant plants, Spice Lagoon felt like a true sanctuary. Waking up to the symphony of nature and the crisp, clean air was an absolute treat for our city-weary souls. The location itself is a balm for the senses, offering unparalleled tranquility and beauty. Our stay felt like a home amidst the mighty hills of Munnar. The drive to the property was an adventure, going up & down the hilly terrain. However, it might be a bit challenging for some. That said, there are people around to guide and help you navigate your way to this serene retreat. We stayed in a pleasant 2BHK home surrounded by a spacious open area with rubber trees all around. A small cowshed and a few hens nestled on the property. The ambience made us feel connected to nature & the warmth of a home. The owners were incredibly hospitable & cooked some homely food for us. The stay has both an internal & an external staircase leading to our floor, with the owners residing on the ground floor. While the internal staircase offers convenience, we felt it slightly blurred the privacy for both guests and hosts, though the owners were respectful & never imposed any restrictions. The main town is about 6 km away, so some travel for shops is required. A pleasant & lovely stay, overall!

Our short stay at Neelakurunji luxury rooms was highlighted with superb hospitality from Jiyash and his team of very sweet people (Notably Ebin and Akil). They took care of all our needs, including picking us up from a particularly far location where we were dropped, serving us very tasty food (in large quantities) and so on. They even showed us around a little bit as we were on our way to be dropped off after our stay. It was the end of August and hence there were not many people in the vicinity, but that was what we were looking for and so we were extremely thrilled. The view from the plantation and from all the rooms are breathtakingly beautiful (with clouds passing through your room occasionally). The location is quite remote and so one will need to be picked up and dropped by the staff. Overall the experience here was beautiful, marked with supreme hospitality from a capable and sweet staff.

We really enjoyed our stay here and eventually stayed six nights. From your window you only see tea plantations (even though the place is not completely in nature as pictures make you think). The place is cheap, quiet and simple. Expect basic comfort. The host is super caring and we had super interesting talks with him, food is simple and tasty. The place was hard to leave: we started to feel like home :)

Had a fabulous stay with Mr. Sandosh sir. I am really thankful for his supportive native. He really helped me by providing desired details when ever I called him and even food was arranged in last minute. Thanks for the hostage sir. Hope to see you soon again

Joseph was a great host. He was super responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The check-in process was smooth. The location was quiet and peaceful. Joseph personally helped in planning our itinerary & travel options to travel from/to Cochin and in & around Munnar. He always willing to take the extra step to ensure the tour and stay are comfortable. Highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Munnar.
