Beachfront vacation rentals in Island of Ortigia

The apartment has incredibly beautiful views and the best sunset view. However, you should be aware that the apartment is located directly on the promenade with many restaurants and it is a bit noisy - especially Friday and Saturday. Alberto is super friendly and has always accommodated us. The amenities are great.

This place was in amazing location and is walkable to all the lively spots on the island. Andrea was the best Airbnb host we have ever had. He responds right away, was always there for questions and gave us recommendations for the entire city so we did feel in great hands. I recommend this place to everybody. The Airbnb was very clean and had all we needed for our 3 day trip! Stay here Andrea will take great care of you.

We have stayed in many great AirBnB’s but we have never encountered hosts as wonderful as Mario and Jacopo. They told us where we could park within the ZTL; Jacopo came down to the parking lot when we arrived and insisted on carrying our suitcases back to the apartment. They had stocked the fridge with water, milk, beer, limoncello, snacks, etc. - all for our use, and even a home-made lemon tart made with their own lemons! The apartment was wonderfully quiet but less than 1/2 block from one of the main streets. The beds were very comfortable and the 2 bathrooms were very modern and well appointed. Water pressure in the showers was excellent and there was plenty of hot water. The rooftop balcony was a delight. Our hosts gave us lots of suggestions for restaurants, beaches, cafes, places to see within Ortigia and beyond. They even kept us updated on traffic conditions and suggested alternate routes. If you are planning to visit Ortigia, we recommend Casa Daphne without hesitation!

A wonderful apartment that was a delightful place to stay close to everything Ortigia has to offer. And across the bridge you can be in Syracuse in minutes. Such a luxurious feel with 2 bedrooms and bathrooms and a fully kitted out kitchen for anyone wanting to cook. Plus a living room and upstairs has a steam shower! Generous offerings of all sorts of biscuits, fruits etc let too. With 2 small balconies. Just an absolutely perfect place to stay. Such a great city to explore. We loved it all. Thankyou for having us!!

We had a lovely time staying here. We didn’t need to use the car as it was a 30 minute walk to the archeological park and a 30 minute walk to the castle on Ortygia. The flat was spotless and the view from the window amazing. Highly recommended

Andrea's home in Fontane Bianche is fabulous...my family of 5 felt right at home! We took full advantage of the terrazzas overlooking the yard and the Ionian Sea--frequently our preferred location for a morning espresso with breakfast. His well-equipped kitchen along with dishwasher, washing machine, clothesline, etc. are fantastic amenites to have access to while on vacation. The yard is beautifully adorned with local plants, fruit trees, and catci. The views of the sea are fantastic--a back gate opens right on shore and offers hours of exploration of tidal pools and a World War II "pillbox" machine gun nest to explore 5 minutes walk down the shore toward the beach. The nearby La Capannina da Gino restaurant was a family favorite with pizza, pasta, & seafood dishes that offered something for everyone. We took advantage of the Holiday Market on the main street in town and for larger shopping needs, visited the Lidl and Conad in Avola. Andrea's place offers much for everyone!

Very good stay in this soothing place. The space and the environment match the photos. Very nice proximity to the beach. Lots of storage in the property.

An absolutely spectacular location right on the sea. it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed at with incredible outdoor space flowing down from the house/upper terrace to the pool and a second outdoor area to the water itself, which you can reach directly from the house in two minutes or less. At the bottom of the property, you can swim in the pristine waters of the Plemmirio marine reserve in either a protected cove or in the sea itself, where you can observe a vast number of fish and explore the many caves coves up and down the shoreline.

A superb property owned by an exceptional host. Cannot wait to return.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The downstairs apartment is simple and very clean with two simple but peaceful bedrooms. The kitchen has a great fridge freezer, gas cooker and area to prepare meals or bbq food if you fancy cooking at home. There is an inside table but we spent all our time outside at the two seating areas, both shaded, one outside the door and the other up beside the pool. The garden area was fantastic for an early morning coffee before you walk the 2 minutes to the beautiful sandy beach. We spent lazy lunches sitting on the upper table area and then having fun playing in the pool, which was clean and larger than we expected. The owners were welcoming and made us feel very relaxed, making this a great place to base ourselves to explore the island. We can’t recommend it enough, especially the outside areas.

Our family (7 adults) had a wonderful stay. For Cesare’s place you need a car but it’s a a great place to return to with wonderful outdoor dining, as well as indoor, lazing by the pool, and a great swimming spot just a 3 minute walk away. Short drive to Syracuse in one direction and a sandy beach (Fontane Bianche) in the other. We also visited the beautiful villages of Noto, Modica and Ragusa Ibla 30-60 minutes drive away.

We had a great time staying at Antonio and his family's place! Unfortunately, our outbound flight was delayed for 3 hours and Antonio checked in with us at 2 o'clock at night and was more than friendly. The place is very well maintained, there was even water, everything for an Italian breakfast and pasta for cooking. The garden area is well maintained and the pool very pleasant. It is definitely recommended to have a car, then the beautiful old town of Syracuse can be reached in about 15 minutes and you are on the very beautiful beach in less than 5 minutes. We would definitely recommend the place in Arenella!

A beautiful spacious property, well equipped and with a marvellous swimming pool in which we swam every day. Alberto and also Nisha were very responsive and helpful. The villa is an easy 15 -20 minute drive to Siracusa.

A perfect 2 nights in Fontane Bianche on 21st and 22nd May 2025. Walkable distance to the amazing beach. Eco Friendly residence exactly as described and Alfredo was a very attentive host and gave lots of tips and recommendations particularly for our car journey into Syracuse and Ortigia Island. Many Thanks Alfredo, we hope to stay again in the future.

I fell in love with Syracuse, and Cinzia's place was one of the reasons I enjoyed it so much. The house is located in a perfect spot—not in the middle of the tourist crowd, but close enough to get anywhere super conveniently. Cinzia responds to messages very promptly, helped us set up parking (which is hard to do in Ortigia), and when something came up during our stay, she responded immediately and came to help us. I felt very safe in the neighborhood and the house is beautifully decorated with everything that I needed during the trip. I would definitely come back to stay!

We had a great time staying at Paola's place. Ale was always quick to respond to questions we had or address any small issues. The apartment is as described - spacious and light filled. Very comfortable and such a great location close to the water. Very quiet apartment at night yet you're so close to all amenities and many restaurants. We had a great time.

Wow, this place exceeded my expectations. The location is perfectly near both the sea and the restaurants/ shops. The apartment itself was absolutely spotlessly clean and had absolutely everything you would need (and more!). Careful thought has been put into the home with various wireless chargers, sonos speaker and an additional loft space which my daughter loved as her own room! Davide's place is even better than the pictures and much bigger than we expected. We'd love to stay again just to make the most of the beautiful space they have created in the apartment. Thank you!

Miriam and family were wonderful hosts. They personally escorted us to the apartment on Ortigia Island and made the process a breeze. We really enjoyed Ortigia Island and Miriam's apartment is a perfect place to explore it. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations.

Even nicer than we imagined- the patio is right off the bedroom making it super easy to use for breakfast and afternoon drinks. It has the best view in the city!

staying here is like being a local Ortagian we were greeted at our parking space by Enrico who is Majas man on the ground who took us down the street to the apartment so much better than having to find a key lock box the apartment is superbly equipped and stylish in a typical Italian fashion large lounge with views two bedrooms both on a par ditto for the bathrooms on the third floor there is also an amazing terrace ideal for the alfresco breakfast sunbathing and pre dinner sundowners this was one of the best airbandbs we know and we would like to return

We loved the apartment and found it to be very spacious and comfortable - we especially liked the panoramic view of the lagoon and Syracuse. Santi was a great host. The area around the apartment is beautiful and quiet - the beach is a five minute walk. Probably wouldn’t suit those seeking nightlife and restaurants on their doorstep, but Syracuse is only a short drive away. Although not an issue for ourselves, the steep staircase would not suit elderly or infirm guests, but Santi kindly carried our suitcase up and down the stairs! We would thoroughly recommend.
