Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Houghton Lake

Very nice place. I can tell the owners maintain it well and take care of everything. It looked like the exterior landscaping had recently been redone. I felt right at home. Will stay here again.

The home was beautiful with a beautiful view. The lake was right across from us definitely coming back in warmer time! The host was great, she accommodated us well was really understand and responded on anything we asked.

Came here for our anniversary getaway. We we liked the listing and we were even more impressed once we got there. He's more of a stay inside person so we didn't do much outside, plus I have thin skin, so cold weather is rough on me sometimes. Inside was great though! It was very homey. I could have stayed there forever. Living room made it easy to lounge and watch the TV. Dining room gave us the perfect amount of space to eat. Kitchen set up was perfect. Same for bathroom and shower space. But, the bedroom... where did that bed come from?! Was it made from clouds?! It was the comfiest bed I have ever slept on! I would definitely rent again! maybe when it's warmer for me though. lol We picked up food from The Rusty Pine. All of the food purchased there was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. The pizza from Mio pizza was really good as well. I wouldn't hesitate to eat at either place again.

Enjoyed our second stay here with the kids and the dogs. The dogs loved all the open space and running through the trails exploring the property. Great place to get away for a few days with plenty of privacy.

Beautiful cottage to stay at! My 4 teenage boys, my Dad, and myself all enjoyed it very much! The boys really liked the Recreation room and even the activities in there to bring outside and play, such as basketball and badminton. Robert and Jill were quick to respond and very friendly. The cottage was clean and had some cute little touches to welcome us. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it!

Getting to this home was fairly easy. Our only problem was unlocking the door. The provided code did not work. But we called the provided number and the code was changed. The new number was successful. From that time on we had no difficulty. The home was comfortable. The wall between the living room and master bedroom did not absorb the sound of the TV in the living room. So those of us that stayed up later could not use the TV. This was remedied by using ear plugs. Basically there were no other areas of concern. The Traverse City area had numerable places to explore and the Fall colors were glorious. As a lighthouse lover, I was happy. The house felt secluded yet it was close to many shopping areas. The woods toward the back of the home had the most gorgeous trees and had a "haunted" appearance. That made me happy. I loved our stay. Thanks Katy!!!!

We enjoyed our stay! Michelle was very responsive. It was close to town but far enough to feel secluded. We enjoyed the hot tub, which was one of the initial factors we looked at this house. The deck attached was large enough for us all to gather. Beautiful kitchen and spacious.

the host was very responsive and friendly. our second night the power went out due to an ice storm and he refunded us which was much appreciated. very clean and comfy. the beds were really comfy too. id definitely recommend renting this home

It was a great stay, the house is close to the lake, couple of minutes walking, nice and peaceful surroundings. Clean and comfortable.

Walk out basement to the few steps to get to the beach area. Well stocked kitchen. Recommend bringing your own water if desired ( well water I believe) . Beautiful sunsets. Game room was fun .. bring quarters to play though . Highly recommend

Timothy was an excellent host. He was very responsive to my initial questions as someone who is newer to renting an AirBnB and was quick to help when I called about an issue with one of the smoke alarms on arrival (extremely minor, just a faulty battery, but I wanted to make sure to ask before deactivating it). Overall a nice place to stay, I would definitely return in the future!

Couldn't have had a better location. My girlfriend and I were looking for a secluded location away from the hectic city. Todd's cabin was the best decision I made on my first Airbnb location. We got exactly what we were looking for. Not only does it come with lots of trails to walk, indoors is a pinball machine and old school record jukebox machine, games to play and even Netflix and chill. Thank you again for the wonderful get away from the city for my 40th birthday.

The little cabin was exactly what I envisioned. Quiet and calm with lots of trees.

Marcus’s cabin was very clean, smelled good, very modest, but we had everything we needed and it was priced right. It was exactly what we needed for an enjoyable snowmobile trip. Thanks Markus

It was perfect for my needs but I was surprised at the cleaning deposit and then asking me to take care of dishes, towels, etc. That was my first Airbnb that took a cleaning fee and I unfortunately didn’t catch it until later. The front porch light was burned out and twice I had to catch myself from falling off. Also the road in was a mud pit — that was out of their control but a heads up perhaps?

This is the second time I've stayed. For personal reasons, I had to leave early, but the hosts were very gracious and kind. The house is great and comfortable as always. The host is always easy to reach and great to speak with. I hope to make more trips here in the future for some rest away from home!

Craig’s place was everything we have been looking for! We have 2 rescue dogs who have a hard time being around other dogs. We really wanted a place where they could be free to be themselves out in nature. Craig’s place was very private, with a big property. We went for some lovely walks on the trail, and also explored some locations nearby with great river walks. I have to say that Craig’s place was so welcoming and comfortable. The old cabin feel, the wood burning fire, the dvd selection. We just loved being a bit cut off from the world (but still had a bit of signal.) Craig is so helpful and accommodating. The cabin has everything you need, extra blankets, a full kitchen, fire wood ready, games. Just show up with your clothes (and food) and you will be set! We were just a couple, but there are lots of beds for more guests to stay. We hope to return with some friends in the future and experience everything the cabin has to offer in different seasons!
