Great location and very helpful staff for travelling to train station on departure.

The house was beautifully spacious, clean and toasty warm! Super close to the train station/ bus shuttles and supermarket. The house itself had everything you need! Pete was extremely great at communicating and helping us with the best local places to eat and organising transport. If I come back to Hakuba I’ll definitely be booking this place! 10/10

So pleased we chose Hakuba Downtown Apartments for our first time to Hakuba. The unit was so spacious, modern, comfortable and clean - and the views were incredible! Couldn’t have asked for more. The location suited us perfectly - we hired a car, and loved the freedom of choosing resorts each day depending on conditions. But what set this accommodation above our expectations was the host - Pete is a legend. A top bloke who couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. Highly recommend staying at HDA - you will love it!

Staying at Big Bear was great, from booking to checking out. Darren was a great host who reached out with tips and information about reservations and advance bookings for local activities and restaurants etc. he was a great help in booking our ski lessons, and knowledgeable for other skiing relating issues. The apartment itself was exactly as described- and a personal touch was that the heating was turned on prior to our arrival and was very comfortable for us. The crew were available to drive us to dinner reservations, grocery store, medical clinic and collect us and drop at bus station etc. Only issue we had was trying to dial the contact number provided in the confirmation email, however once Darren advised us to ‘drop the first zero, if using an international prefix’ it worked perfectly (maybe common knowledge to some, but not us). Overall, would not be able to recommend this accommodation highly enough! It was absolutely amazing, we didn’t want to leave.

we enjoyed throughout the whole trip. due to our car is not AWD resulting that my car stuck in the sluggish snow. Darren's team was fast to help me get out and offer me a car WITHOUT COST for the rest of my stay. We managed to park the car at Rhythm and walk to the apartments which is 200-300m away which solve the issue. Thank you Darren and team for the great hospitality.

Darren’s place at Big Bear Apartments was the perfect location in Hakuba for me and my husband to spend our 8-year anniversary! Situated a few steps away from the Sakka chair lift at Happo One, this made it super easy for us to walk to the slopes every day. The apartment is well equipped if you want to cook your meals. The plush bed and heated floors provide an extra level of superb comfort. Darren’s team of staff also offers the highest level of customer service. From picking us up at the train station upon our arrival, to the daily evening trips to the grocery store in town, to dropping us off when we left (and then picking us up and dropping us off again because we got the bus location wrong), we really appreciated the hospitality shown to make our vacation as comfortable and convenient as possible. We highly recommend staying here and hope to return next year!

Such an awesome spot to stay in Hakuba! The place itself is amazing; super clean, BIG, amazing views up the mountain and easily walkable to Happo and local restaurants. The team were awesome and communication was fantastic. Pick ups and drop offs were easy to organise and everyone was so lovely. Will 100% come and stay here again! Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed our stay! The hosts were so friendly and helped take us to a couple much needed stops! Definitely recommend!

Great stay at MASA's place, felt like home and wish we could spend more time at the place if our travel schedule was not that tight. the house is sparkling clean and spacious. all supplies in house are handpicked like MASA would choose for her own home (i guess). really comfortable with fully furnished and equipped, not so far from family mart and laundry place. highly recommended. will stay again if we visit nagano next time. MASA is very responsive and very helpful with local tips for our travel.

The host is friendly and helpful. The house is cosy, clean and well equipped. Checkin and checkout is very easy. Recommend for couple and groups 3-4 people.

We had a great stay at Omusubi. Ryuichi, as everyone else mentioned, is such a helpful and kind host who greeted us personally. He gave us great recommendations and is always responsive when we had questions. The place is a walk away from Cortina and a few mins drive from Norikura, so convenient for skiing. The whole unit is clean and spacious, and the heating is great! The only slightly downside is that the soundproofing isn’t so great, so you’d hear sounds from the next room and outside if there is significant noise. Thankfully the area doesn’t seem to be noisy so we weren’t too affected. Overall it is still an excellent option for the Hakuba area!

Great place to stay with a great host!

A beautiful Airbnb located in the heart of Echoland, walking distance to many restaurants and bars. The unit itself is very cosy and warm, and had all the amenities for a comfortable stay. We especially enjoyed the automatic bath tub which was great after a long day of snowboarding. As an added bonus, the food downstairs at Hakuba Shokudou and Berbies was excellent, so we had a few late night snacks there. All in all, we would love to be back again next snow season in Hakuba!

The palace was great, looking exactly like on the pictures. Very comfortable bed, spacious common area and plenty of amenities. Good location and excellent host!

We loved our stay at Daniel’s apartment in Iwatake! Everything was as described & pictured. Pick up and drop off to station great - as was the food shop at the start. All staff friendly. The drying room was very good and something we didn’t even know was a MUST! The new Gondala was very nice and the view from the top of the mountain was stunning. The ski lift near the apt did not open when we were there even tho there was so much snow which was disappointing. Daniel always responded to questions friendly and quickly and I would recommend these apartments for skiing families. Beds and amenities were great - the washer and dryer also handy. The apts are quite a distance away from most things in Hakuba (good and bad)- it cost me $50aud round trip to go to the shops (10 mins) to get some good and there really is not many restaurants or food close by and the cheap taxi would not collect from the apts. Some other guests were noisy and could be heard through walls. Would love to come back

We stayed in "green season". The accommodation is lovely, clean and very quiet. It is about a 20 minute walk from the main area of Happo/gondola and around 40-50 minutes from Hakuba train station which for us was not a problem but is something to bear in mind. I think in ski season there would be more bars/restaurants open directly local to the property and there are shuttle buses in winter so maybe not so much of an issue then. Darren was very responsive and Grant was great with rides to/from the train station at the start and end of our stay. Overall, would recommend.

WOW – A perfect place to stay! I want to give 6 stars out of 5. Great location – short 5 min walk to restaurants and bars. The grocery store is an easy 10 min walk (other direction). The resort buses pick up at the end of the driveway. Our unit was great; clean, comfortable, well lit, and nicely appointed. We had 6 adults and it was an easy fit, 8 would have been fine. The beds were comfortable and the entire place was quiet too. The separate room downstairs for boots and outerwear was heated every night and morning; everything was completely dry before we put it on the next day even after a full day in deep powder. Boots being very warm was really important for those with race boots which would be extremely difficult to put on if not warm enough – no problem here!!! Karen and Greg are fabulous hosts – super helpful and accommodating plus they have great info – almost like resident tour guides. They helped with transportation, gear rentals, restaurants, and resorts. We will be back!!!!

We stayed in apartment C1 for 10 days. It was comfortable and had plenty of room. Kitchen was clean and good And everything in the apartment worked perfectly We had a car which made things easier as it’s almost impossible to get a cab anywhere

We had a lovely stay here, would happily book again. Nice quiet location, we were lucky enough to see snow monkeys in the tree just next to the window a few of the days! Incredibly comfortable, spacious and well appointed.

Granpia is a great place to stay! The host is very responsive and helped us when we thought something was wrong with the AC. Turns out it just took extra long to get started the first time. She was very kind to clean the filter as we waited for it to start. After that everything went well. The room actually warms up well compared to the places I used to live at in Ueda. The place is in a quiet area and has a pretty view of the mountains. It has parking if you are driving, and is about a 20 minute walk to the station. Also, there is a soba place 1 minute walk away which has tasty walnut soba. You can also find little pastry places, cafe's, and other restaurants within a close radius. All in all, it's good value for your money and a great place to stay. Highly recommended!
