Vacation rentals with a kayak in Gironde estuary

This is a beautiful place to stay on the banks of the Charente which we enjoyed from the canoe but just loved seeing it flowing along edging the grounds. We came on the train which is a very easy journey from Paris to Jarnac. It is then less than an hours walk along the cycle path or quicker along the very quiet road. The market in Jarnac is excellent and there’s some nice cafes and bars. In Bourg Charente itself the bar tabac sells morning baguette and croissants, especially good to put an order in the day before. Also in the village La Ribaudiere restaurant was absolutely amazing and an experience not to be missed. So this is a great place to stay if you are car free like us but bicycles really help too especially with direct access to the 400 km path La Flow Velo. Lots of fun! Thanks to Andrea and Dominic.

We had a relaxing few days at Philippe and Marie Annick's cottage. Warm and very friendly welcome upon arrival. Philippe gave us some great tips for visiting the Arcachon Bay. The accommodation is very well equipped and very clean. The small touches are very much appreciated on arrival. Everything was ready for our daughter. The house is very nice and with beautiful terraces to enjoy the sun at any time of the day. A few meters from the beach and less than 5 minutes' walk to the shops. The local market is 50 meters from the house, a real treat. We will undoubtedly come back to this peaceful haven. Dismissed

I spent two great weeks in Eric's home! Many activities are offered, Eric always does her best to ensure that our vacation goes smoothly. A great welcome drink is offered and allows us to connect with local producers and the tourist office who helped us a lot with transportation and activities to do during our stay. Thank you for a great stay!

Thanks to Marine for hosting us and for being available. The accommodation is clean, very well equipped and tastefully decorated. It is also suitable for hosting children which is a real asset. We had a lovely weekend. Can't wait to go back.

Alexis was a great host - super responsive and very friendly. His place is recently renovated and is great for 1 or 2 families and perfectly located near to LHerbe and Le Canon but off the main road. highly recommend

Romain's home was perfect! Very well equipped, on one level, suitable for children with bcp of games and toys, a swing... with the pool 5min walk and shops nearby as well. BBQ, bikes available it was great. We keep the address because this is the first time we find a house that checks all our criteria boxes:) thank you to Romain and his family. Maybe see you soon!

Lovely accommodation with everything we needed in the house. Village has a market five days a week in the square opposite the house which has fresh vegetables, fruit, cheese and some fish. There is a butcher, boulangerie and a general store (the Tabac). The local restaurant is good for a pizza or steak. You have to drive to other restaurants in the area.

We had an wonderful time. The house was great and the garden is huge with an orchard in the next field which we could access. It is an absolutely beautiful place. We were made to feel very at home by Laetitia, Thierry and family (they were in the main house for some days of our stay and the rest of the time we were alone on the vast property). They were extremely generous about letting us use games and canoes etc and could not have been more welcoming to us. The surrounding area is very beautiful and peaceful. The river is nearby and there are lots of possible areas for swimming as well as walking. We really enjoyed visits to Angouleme and Cognac and other pretty villages. Most of all we enjoyed sitting in the garden reading and relaxing and going running in small largely deserted roads around the house. It was a really lovely holiday and I would definitely recommend this highly and fully hope to go back again.

We had a pleasant stay with the family at the farm. The setting is ideal for relaxing, surrounded by animals , with the swimming pool and private jacuzzi we enjoyed. A big thank you to the owner for the delicate attention with the scented candle and the good fresh eggs.

A dream setting, wonderful accommodation, very high quality amenities and in an impeccably clean condition and a more than attentive welcome... and in addition, everything has been thought out and homemade by the owners. Everything was perfect, and even more than that. We highly recommend it for anyone who would like to have a memorable stay.

I had a really nice stay with Marcelle in Le Porge. Such a cozy spot, looking into a forest. Can totally recommend, especially when you bring a dog - Marcelle was super sweet with the dog and as well was okay with my dog walking around the backyard. :) would absolutely stay here again.

An ideal place with children. There's nothing missing from the chalet. Yolande is available and welcoming. The lake is very close, easy to access by walking and ideal for the little ones because little depth for long meters. In short, a pleasant stay with our 3-year-old daughter.

We loved every moment of switching off at LaCabane and embracing the peaceful surroundings. The space is beautifully designed and well thought out, with everything we needed to feel comfortable and at home. The visits from the dogs and ducks, a bonus!
