Vacation rentals with a kayak in Gironde estuary

This is a beautiful place to stay on the banks of the Charente which we enjoyed from the canoe but just loved seeing it flowing along edging the grounds. We came on the train which is a very easy journey from Paris to Jarnac. It is then less than an hours walk along the cycle path or quicker along the very quiet road. The market in Jarnac is excellent and there’s some nice cafes and bars. In Bourg Charente itself the bar tabac sells morning baguette and croissants, especially good to put an order in the day before. Also in the village La Ribaudiere restaurant was absolutely amazing and an experience not to be missed. So this is a great place to stay if you are car free like us but bicycles really help too especially with direct access to the 400 km path La Flow Velo. Lots of fun! Thanks to Andrea and Dominic.

Nous avons passé quelques jours reposants dans la maisonnette de Philippe et Marie Annick. Un accueil chaleureux et très sympathique à notre arrivée. Philippe nous a donné de bons conseils pour visiter le bassin d'Arcachon. Le logement est très bien équipé et très propre. Les petites attentions sont très appréciables à l'arrivée. Tout était prêt pour notre fille. On hésitera pas à revenir pour terminer la visite de la région ! Marion Mathieu Noémie

La maison est très agréable et avec de belles terrasses pour profiter du soleil à chaque moment de la journée. A quelques mètres de la plage et à moins de 5 minutes à pied des commerces. Le marché local est à 50 mètres de la maison un vrai régal. Nous reviendrons sans aucun doute dans cette havre de paix. Démis

J’ai passé deux supers semaines dans le logement d’Éric ! De nombreuses activités sont proposées, Éric fait toujours le maximum pour que nos vacances se passe au mieux. Un super pot d’accueil est proposé et permet de nous mettre en relation avec des producteurs locaux et l’office de tourisme qui nous a beaucoup aidé sur les transports et les activités à faire durant notre séjour. Wat een fantastisch huis en wat een lieve vriendelijke en gastvrije mensen zijn jullie!! Wij hebben als gezin ons heel erg thuis gevoeld in jullie prachtige huis die van alle gemakken is voorzien. Contact verliep heel soepel en makkelijk en zelfs uw broer stond voor ons klaar om ons op weg te helpen. heel erg b dankt voor de fijne en onvergetelijke tijd in jullie fijne huis. dank namens ons allemaal en wellicht tot snel! veel groetjes Edwin

Merci à Marine pour son accueil et sa disponibilité. Le logement est propre, très bien équipé et décoré avec goût. Il est aussi adapté pour accueillir des enfants ce qui est un véritable atout. Nous avons passé un très bon week end. Hâte d’y retourner.

Alexis was a great host - super responsive and very friendly. His place is recently renovated and is great for 1 or 2 families and perfectly located near to LHerbe and Le Canon but off the main road. highly recommend

La maison de Romain était parfaite ! Très bien équipée, de plain pied, adaptée aux enfants avec bcp de jeux et jouets, une balançoire… avec le bassin à 5min à pieds et des commerces à proximité également. BBQ, vélos mis à disposition c’était génial. Nous gardons l’adresse car c’est la première fois que nous trouvons une maison qui coche toutes nos cases de critères :) merci à Romain et sa famille. À bientôt peut-être !

Lovely accommodation with everything we needed in the house. Village has a market five days a week in the square opposite the house which has fresh vegetables, fruit, cheese and some fish. There is a butcher, boulangerie and a general store (the Tabac). The local restaurant is good for a pizza or steak. You have to drive to other restaurants in the area.

We had an wonderful time. The house was great and the garden is huge with an orchard in the next field which we could access. It is an absolutely beautiful place. We were made to feel very at home by Laetitia, Thierry and family (they were in the main house for some days of our stay and the rest of the time we were alone on the vast property). They were extremely generous about letting us use games and canoes etc and could not have been more welcoming to us. The surrounding area is very beautiful and peaceful. The river is nearby and there are lots of possible areas for swimming as well as walking. We really enjoyed visits to Angouleme and Cognac and other pretty villages. Most of all we enjoyed sitting in the garden reading and relaxing and going running in small largely deserted roads around the house. It was a really lovely holiday and I would definitely recommend this highly and fully hope to go back again.

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour en famille à la ferme. Le cadre est idéal pour se ressourcer, entourés des animaux , avec la piscine et le jacuzzi privatif nous avons bien profité. Un grand merci au propriétaire pour la délicate attention avec la bougie parfumée et les bons œufs frais.

Un cadre de rêve, un logement merveilleux, des équipements de très grande qualité et dans un état de propreté impeccable et un accueil plus qu'attentionné... et en plus, tout a été pensé et façonné-maison par les propriétaires. Tout était parfait, et même plus que ça. On recommande très très chaudement pour qui voudrait passer un séjour mémorable.

I had a really nice stay with Marcelle in Le Porge. Such a cozy spot, looking into a forest. Can totally recommend, especially when you bring a dog - Marcelle was super sweet with the dog and as well was okay with my dog walking around the backyard. :) would absolutely stay here again.

Un lieu ideal avec des enfants. Rien ne manque dans le chalet. Yolande est disponible et accueillante. Le lac est très proche, facile d accès en se promenant et ideal pour les petits car peu de profondeur sur de longs mètres. Bref, un séjour agréable avec notre petite fille de 3 ans.

We loved every moment of switching off at LaCabane and embracing the peaceful surroundings. The space is beautifully designed and well thought out, with everything we needed to feel comfortable and at home. The visits from the dogs and ducks, a bonus!
