Cuckoo Barn - perfect cosy getaway

RachelRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The barn was beautifully situated and very peaceful. We loved the family dogs and cats coming to visit us. The barn is right on the Cuckoo trail and so we enjoyed walking along enjoying the spring sunshine . A really lovely pub in Old Heathfield called The Star Inn is definitely worth a visit, it's warm, cosy and very friendly. The food was delicious so well worth the short walk from the barn. A couple of nights in this beautiful setting was just perfect.

Simply lovely South Downs Shepherd hut

GraceRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We had a very comfortable stay at Joe's hut. The kitchen area was well equipped, breakfast provisions very generous and set us up for all the great walks accessible right out the back gate! As it states in the listing, you can hear the road noise outside the hut but inside it was well shut out and didn't disturb us. We would recommend and return :)

The Railway Carriage, Woodchurch, Kent

ElenaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We absolutely loved our stay at the Railway Carriage! It was quiet, quaint and comfortable and the hosts, Alex and Phil, were super accomodating and helpful (and their dog willow was super cute and friendly too). The beautiful scenery surrounding the cabin is nothing short of gorgeous, with a winery and two pubs in short walking distance. We particularly loved sitting in front of the fire, watching the sunset over the lake. Definitely recommend!! One thing to note is that the only power outlet available was 12V, so make sure you either have a 12V phone charger or just remember to pack a portable charger!

Camber Sands retreat

TeresaRating, 5 stars5 days ago
This is a fantastic setting. It has a view I could never tire of, with huge skies and fantastic sunsets. We had lambs just on the other side of the small waterway just outside the deck, which was a bonus! There were lots of different birds and wildlife to see without leaving home. The beach is just a short walk away and there are many places of interest to visit which are a short drive away, including Winchelsea Village, which is beautiful Rye and Dungeness. The place itself is brilliant value. It's clean and comfortable and everything you need. I wish we could stay longer and can't wait to be back. Sara was a great host and came back very quickly to answer queries.

The Oasis Studio

AydaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Oasis. It's a well designed accommodation, very nice furnishings and fittings, immaculate condition, plush bed and bedding with good facilities for our short stay. It was our little piece of paradise and by far the best Air BnB we’ve ever stayed at! The host was very charming, kind, helpful and gave us some fantastic recommendations for nearby farm cafes and a local pub for a fish supper. We also had some snacks in the fridge, cherry flapjacks were our favourite. The icing on the cake was the gardens which we had use of during our stay, very private and an incredible pergola with heater to relax under in all weather. We liked it so much, we are ordering one for our own garden at home and can't wait for it to be installed. Many thanks to Giovanna our host, she has undoubtably exceeded our expectations! We will definitely be visiting The Oasis again! 😍

Well equipped 3 bedrooms, near Hastings

BarryRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Another great stay for our family holiday. The caravan is lovely and clean and just what we needed for our stay. We had our little grandson over for a visit and he really enjoyed it and we spent more time with him in Hastings itself which was lovely, with some glorious weather throughout the day. Then back to caravan to chill. Five star stay.

I absolutely LOVED this place, immediately regretted not booking another night & I’ve already booked another stay! After walking in the Downs, and along the River Ouse, I had a lovely afternoon exploring the quirky shops, the Flea Market, and a good few pubs in Lewes! Feeling happy-tired after all the walking (& a hefty pub lunch), I arrived at Michelle’s & found myself in utter peaceful bliss - the perfect place to relax & unwind. Loving it so, I quickly abandoned all plans of walking to The Five Bells. Instead, I got the enormous firepit ablaze & spent the rest of my night warming myself in front of the flames, with a bottle of Fizz, simply enjoying the sound of the bleeting sheep. With plenty of wood provided to burn well into the wee hours, I later found myself being serenaded by a hooting owl. Heaven! I eventually dragged myself to the comfiest bed imaginable & had the best night’s sleep. As if things couldn’t get better, I awoke on Easter Sunday to my very own lambs!! Perfection!

My partner and I stayed here too celebrate her birthday - and we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay! Surroundings are beautiful and the area is lovely and peaceful, with plenty of open spaces to take the dog for a walk. Pubs & shops within walking distance, and the local taproom was perfect for a Friday evening. The animals on the farm gave the place a home feel and the hosts were really lovely - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Moreover, attention to details really stood out and you could easily conclude that Sue is a very good and caring host. We would definitely like to stay here again!

The cabin is lovely, spotlessly clean and with absolutely everything you could need for a comfortable stay - including provisions for breakfast. The real bonus is the very pretty garden with views over the park. The cabin is an easy walk into town and very handy for visiting local attractions, (Sissinghurst, Scotney Castle etc.). We were able to park right outside for the 3 nights we stayed). Lesley is a friendly host, with prompt, helpful communications. Would highly recommend!

A wonderful place to stay, the cabin was cosy but at no point did it feel too cramped and felt right at home with all amenities provided. Local shops not too far away and a gorgeous scenery that really made our stay feel that much more comfortable. David was an excellent host from clear instructions, helpful guidances and recommendations to local areas and things to do. We would love to stay again in the future!
