The Pigsty

The Pigsty is Winchester's first luxury woodland hideaway, with beautiful views of Vale Farm. Just a few minutes walk from the famous Clarendon Way, and a 30 minute walk to the city centre.

'Bumbles' is the perfect place to provide easy access to a wealth of attractions, whether it be the newly re-opened Compton Airfield, famous Gold Hill and Shaftesbury Abbey, Breezy Ridge Vineyard, Stonehenge or even a day out at the beach! Winnie’s Stable is a freshly renovated brick built stable block, one of two, located on a farm, which combines all the charm and character of a period building with the style and comfort of a warm and comfortable home. Set in the heart of the New Forest National Park, where ponies, donkeys, cows and pigs roam free, the walking and biking trails are literally on our doorstep, as is a fab pub, cafe and farm shop, and of course the New Forest itself. Borrow our complimentary push bikes too.

Located on a no-through road with only local residents traffic, giving a peaceful setting with views of the surrounding hills. Shaftesbury just over a mile with its historic Gold Hill and a good choice of shops and places to eat. It is a good base for exploring the area, offering historic houses, interesting gardens, walks, the Jurassic Coast, Stonehenge, Salisbury and Bath and much more.

A tranquil place in beautiful countryside. This Shepherds Hut, in its own garden, is overlooking a meadow. Designed for relaxation, many quirky furnishings are made by the craftsman owners. This rural region is an under-appreciated delight. Ideal for walking, cycling, painting, historic houses, gardens, Messums Gallery and Wardour castle. Wonderful selection of pubs locally, a choice for each night’s stay. Breakfast is laid out in the orangery, all home made (told it is “scoffable”).
