I chose this place as a midway point between my brother who lives 30 minutes east and my daughter who lives 30 minutes south. The price was right, and Shiloh made it easy to settle in. It turned out that my brother went to the hospital which is less than two miles away. This location made it easy for me to see my brother every day, and for my husband to walk to the supermarket for groceries. The space was so beautiful and peaceful. I especially appreciated the plants, which I found therapeutic. It was the perfect place to be at the end of stressful days.

We booked Katja’s cottage super last minute and honestly lucked out—it was such a gem. The vibe of the place is super cozy, cute, and relaxing. It’s tucked away in this peaceful, woodsy area that feels like a little nature retreat. Surrounded by trees and fresh air, it was the perfect spot to unwind and slow down. The cottage itself was clean, thoughtfully set up, and had so many sweet little touches that made it feel extra homey. Katja was amazing—so kind and helpful. She made us feel welcome right away and gave us great tips about the area. It was also really cool getting to learn about her farm and everything she’s doing there. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet, charming escape in Oregon!

This little cabin was amazing! I loved the back deck/ porch and the chairs on the lawn that overlooked the gorgeous river that ran behind the house. As a woman who travels solo a lot my number one priority while looking for a place to stay is ‘how safe do I feel here’, and I felt very safe at this cabin. I’d you’re outdoorsy like me you’ll love that the cabin is an easy 30-60 minute drive to some pretty incredible waterfalls and hiking trails, which was the main reason why I came to the area, but after a day of hiking and exploring, this cabin was a great and quiet place to come back to relax. If you’re in the Cottage Grove/ Dorena area I would highly recommend staying here instead of a hotel, the nights were so quiet and the stars were amazing! I hope to go back to the area sometime in the future and when I do I hope this little cabin is available!
