Family-friendly vacation rentals in Cockenzie and Port Seton

I booked this property for my husband and his 3 friends for his 40th birthday. Wallace was extremely communicative at all times, and was very welcoming to the group on arrival. One of the guests arrived early and while Wallace explained the place would not be ready till check in, the guest was able to fish on the loch till later in the day, and thoroughly enjoyed himself! The property was as described, perfectly clean and the location was exactly what I was looking for when I booked. It was easy to find, and the walking guides and maps of the local area were very helpful too. Would book again!

Lovely spot in a really great location. Check in was very easy, the apartment is very clean and has everything you could need. Can highly recommend.

We had a lovely few days here. The place was very clean and we felt right at home. The garden is enclosed and there were even treats for the dog and a crate already here. The place looks so adorable both inside and out it was a gorgeous place to be. We relaxed at the cottage on one day, explored the neighbouring coast, and took the train to Edinburgh. Perfect Easter break.

We had an absolutely lovely time at Ali's place. Spacious, clean and very comfortable. Hot tub and garnden really make the place with stunning views. Easy access to Edinburgh by train and car and also the Fife coastal path. We loved it! would be very happy to return again one day. Ali was the perfect host.

An absolutely charming place! We stayed one night and were smitten from as soon as we checked in. The loveliest little touches in the interior, from the record player to the board games and books, and oh, what a beautiful garden and outdoor experience to behold! Fantastic house, amazing views, lots of space and lovely to be on a farm. Great walk up largo law and lots to do to close by, only a short car journey to get to each location.

Beautiful secluded location. The kitchen was very well equipped and there was everything you needed in the property. It was also very light and spacious. The covered hot tub sold it for us! 10 minute drive to shops and takeaway and 15 mins to Galashiels where there's a lovely cinema. We've already booked for next year!

We rented Ladywell Lodge with the Doocot for a large family holiday. Though the cottage is up in the hills, it was very quick to get to major routes. The lodge was perfect for the two couples who stayed there. It is tucked away in its own large outdoor space with woods and hill walks just moments away. It was comfortable and clean with everything as described. The kitchen was well laid out and the sitting room really cosy. The hosts were great too - Sandra is really responsive and we found the flexible check in really good. It was perfect for our family and being able to pair renting this with the Doocot meant we had a brilliant space for lots of people to stay. My husband and I would love to go back and would happily rent the lodge again as it was so comfortable in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend.

The 4 days we had in the cottage were incredible. It had everything we needed, the garden was perfect for enjoying some April sun and it is ideally located for exploring the north of Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. It’s rare to find somewhere that is so perfect for dogs; the large enclosed garden, log fire and plenty of places to go for walks nearby made it a real favourite place for our two pugs! I cannot recommend this place enough and Lowri was a brilliant host with a great little guide book to help us with local recommendations!

A spacious and well maintained property in a superb location in the centre of Elie. The house is actually situated on the same road as the Ship Inn (probably the best pub/restaurant in Elie) which is very short walk away, as is the beach. The house also benefits from excellent privacy, and it has a small, completely walled in, front garden which makes it very secure for a dog (if you bring one).

What an incredible house in a beautiful neighborhood. The house is so well equipped and so clean. Lots of cereals, cookies, tea and coffee to make our stay even more perfect. The backyard was a bonus with the children. Great location too for public transportation, very easy to go anywhere. Ronnie was so responsive and so accommodating. Many thanks!

What a lovely cottage! Julie and Nigel's cottage is a real home from home, and it matches the photographs perfectly. Thoughtfully decorated, and made to feel homely with blankets, pictures, books etc. Homemade bread and delicious muffins, plus milk and tea and good coffee were most welcome. I appreciated the use of Eco friendly cleaning products and shampoos etc. Comfortable bed with cotton duvet cover and comfy pillows. Big, fluffy towels were great. There are maps and suggestions of places to visit and eat. Julie sent me some recommendations too which were helpful. Friendly neighbours who are keen to share information too. It is perfect for two people - and our dog was made ever so welcome too. Julie and Nigel were responsive to messages right from booking to the end of our stay. As a group of 5 girls visiting the area for a wedding 20 minutes away in Culross, Pascale's Lodge was everything we could have wanted. Pascale is so great to communicate with guests, we amended our booking to add the 2 extra people in February and she immediately adjusted the cost and informed me that it was all ok. The house has everything you need, and was comfortable even at full capacity. The countryside is so beautiful, we were sorry not to have the time to explore! It was easy to arrange for local taxis to and from the wedding venue and an Uber from the airport was reasonable too. There is just one bathroom, so we needed to stick to a rota but water was hot for every shower. We cooked on the first evening and the kitchen was perfect. It was so quiet overnight, and everyone had plenty of space to sleep. An added bonus was meeting Hector and Buddy, Pascale's beautiful dogs. This place is incredibly good value, the host is kind and communicative, we highly recommend!

A lovely, welcoming cottage. Nicely decorated and equally comfortable. There are boardgames and all the kitchen equipment you need. It's a great holiday place and Mary was responsive and very helpful.

How was your host Nathalie is an attentive host, phone call on arrival as we’d got a little lost! Explained all facilities and gave us tips for days out & eating out recommendations. Perfect host. How clean was lodge Despite the smell of dog when we first entered the lodge, once we got inside & unpacked everything was clean & tidy. Plenty of cleaning products should we have needed them (we had brought our own just in case) Both bathrooms were clean smelt fresh. Facilities WiFi was a lovely addition, perfect for me to play on social media uploading my photos from each day. Lovely furniture with plenty of space to relax inside & on the deck. View of lake was stunning. Everything you need in kitchen & throughout the lodge from books, games, video games. Everything has been thought of. Thankfully the gas bottle held out. I did find this part a bit stressful. Understandably, Nathalie is concerned at the cost of gas bottles & fair usage of it. Perfect stay! We have loved it. Thank you

We had an enjoyable weekend break in the Lookout at Pitmilly. Excellent standard of accommodation and facilities and a wonderful setting, convenient for exploring the Fife coast. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely excellent! Wish I could give John and Honeymug six stars. The cottage was a true home-from-home. It was comfy, cosy, well-equipped and just perfect for a family getaway. The host really had thought of everything from local walk guides, books, DVDs, towels for the dog … everything! I could’ve stayed for weeks. The holiday cottage site was an amazing bonus. We were expecting a pool and a gym, however these has recently been renovated to include an outside hot tub, sauna, steam room and excellent luxe facilities. An amazing added bonus. I didn’t want to leave! My teenager loved the gym while his younger siblings enjoyed the games room with pool table. We were pleasantly surprised to find a restaurant on site too. We had an issue with the DVD player not working and John came the next day to replace it. Awesome host. Beautiful location. Fantastic base to explore Northumberland and everything it has to offer. Highly recommend!

The apartment is really bright and spacious and tastefully decorated. The living area and kitchen are perfect. The apartment has everything you need including a washing machine and dryer. Audrey explained everything very clearly to us when we arrived to drop off our luggage (the owners facilitated an early drop off before 4pm). In terms of improvements, the water boiler is quite noisy so if someone used the bathroom late, it could wake other guests. We would have appreciated shampoo in the bathroom - some of our party flew with hand luggage only with a small liquids allowance. We enjoyed our stay and it was convenient for the EICC, a 10-15 minute walk. The welcome breakfast pack was a nice touch. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, including Napoli-themed Pizzeria 1926 with delicious pizzas!

Fabulous little cottage. It's in a great area for nearby attractions. The Cottage itself is so pretty and contains everything you'd need. The games room, the pool and the chickens are an added bonus. We had a lovely stay.

A location with an interesting history; just a few minutes walk (beside the river) from Dunblane’s centre but tranquil, comfortable and secluded. Perfect to visit the surrounding area but also an easy train journey to Stirling and Edinburgh for the sights.

We had an amazing stay at the Orchard hideaway - it is in beautiful, rural and peaceful surroundings, and is exactly like the photos. It is private, warm and very clean, the hot tub is great and well maintained, and the host has thought of everything to make it a comfortable relaxing stay. We would love to come back and 100% recommend!
