Family-friendly vacation rentals in Chittenden County

Pictures accurately depict the house. It’s conveniently located 3 minutes from a grocery store & 5 minutes into downtown. There is a warm welcoming energy in the dwelling. Darren( host) was very responsive, accommodating and provided plenty of local suggestions. The kitchen is extremely well stocked, even for a group of foodies ;) Our ladies getaway was perfect because we had a great space to rest, spread out and entertain ourselves. The only downfall was the weather. Spring rain prevented us from enjoying a fully furnished, sprawling back deck/ yard that led to the trails/ waterfront. We’d stay again in a heartbeat!

This place was very beautiful and definitely very peaceful. We had a great time, even though the drive to activities was pretty far. My only wish was that it was a little more private as far as the other attached rental and housing. Very pretty walk along the brook and the hot tub was a beautiful added bonus. Thank you for the extras that were provided.! Great trip!

We appreciated how pet friendly this place was! Fenced in yard. Blankets to cover the furniture to allow dogs on them. Close enough to many different ski mountains. Perfect to come home to the wood stove and hot tub.

What a beautiful place! Sarah and Bert’s place was one of a kind! Superb location with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains! We booked this location for our family snowboarding trip, there was ample space for us to eat and enjoy family time. Great kitchen to cook and socialize with everybody. I can’t say enough about this home. Sarah and Bert were excellent hosts and we communicated effortlessly and they provided a very positive experience. If you’re planning a trip to the area for adventure or just a getaway, I would highly recommend staying at Fielders farm!

Samantha and Chris's place was a perfect spot for a Smugglers Notch getaway! it's a beautiful home, perfect for a family of 4. Even in cold temperatures( at -5F and lower) with lots of snow, the place was cozy warm with the wood burning furnace (clean and devoid of smoke) as well a propane heater downstairs. Literally 2 turns from the slopes of a great family ski mountain! But the views and location of the property were amazing for those wanting to do other things than ski. Samantha was responsive and an excellent communicator. I have to throw in that everything in their kitchen was in excellent condition (every appliance) including sharp functional chef knives (an uncommon phenomenon for a renter) Thank you Samantha and Chris! Sharing your home with us was a touch- stone of great new family memories!

Absolutely beautiful. So peaceful and picturesque! Perfect place to unwind and relax. Wish our trip wasn’t so short but would love to go back again. Rental was clean and inviting and had so many thoughtful amenities Lynn thought of everything one could need and more to spoil her guests! Farm fresh eggs in the fridge dishes for the poochers a flashlight and notes with helpful tips on anything we could possibly need!

Our girl’s trip at Mad River Lookout was perfection. Such a little taste of paradise. We couldn’t give higher praise, nor would we change anything about the setup. The vibes were immaculate and the views were 🤩 gorgeous! The house was really cozy and inviting. Steve was the best host — very clear communication and very intentional in crafting a relaxing and cool living space. My favorite moment was relaxing in the hot tub while watching the sunset behind the mountain. We had an exclusively positive experience and WILL be coming back again. Thanks again, Steve! 🤗🫶🏼

Remote feeling but 5 minutes from Waterbury and 20 from Burlington. Great location for hiking, walking, biking and all that Vermont towns and cities have to offer. Thanks for offering this gem.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Errin's place. Easy to find, clear instructions for entry and we found everything as expected. It's ideally located for walking to the waterfront and local restaurants, lots of parking in the area too, although may be more tricky during the busier months. That said, if you enjoy walking, most things were easy to get to. Our dog was very happy too with easy access to outdoor spaces for lots of long walks. There is even a dog park along the bike path. The apartment was clean and spacious and plenty big enough for the 4 of us. A welcoming place to return to after exploring or to just sit back and relax. A quick drive to UVM too! We also enjoyed a short drive to and hike at Niquette Bay State Park, and ice cream at The Village Scoop after. In Burlington the American Flatbread pizza was delicious as was dinner at The Farmhouse. Easy to walk to, and lots of places with outdoor eating should your 4 legged member be with you. Would definitely stay again!

Amazing place and Elaine was great host! Beautiful home with peaceful surroundings. Kids enjoyed the animals (Rosie and Felicia). This stay was key to a great trip. 😁

Catherine was super friendly! She greeted us upon arrival which made us feel so welcomed. She lives right next door which was nice to know and was very communicative. The cottage is private and cozy. A great place for pups! As recommended by her sister, I woke up bright and early to see the sunset and it was my favorite part of our stay. It’s definitely the place to go if you’re looking to flee the city and loud noise. We got to see the lunar moon while we were there too! You can tell Catherine put a lot of detail into her cottage and it was lovely. All in all, a great time.

Great place - suited are needs perfectly. Dave responded instantly for a minor question. Very clean and well stocked amenities. Would recommend.

Dori's place was lovely. There is a nice park very close to walk your dog and I felt very safe at Dori's. You can walk to Pine Street where you will find restaurants. I highly recommend Dori's place.

Genevieve's bungalow was the perfect home base for a trip to visit UVM with my daughter. The location was perfect — walkable to the lake and downtown. We rented a car so were able to drive to campus in just minutes. Her place was cozy and charming as promised. We loved the huge library of books and beautiful art on the walls. Plus, visits from Cecil the cat made it all the better. Genevieve was very easy to communicate with, directions to get inside etc. were clear, and we felt well taken care of. I can't recommend her place enough. My daughter is likely to attend UVM in the fall, and we'll be sure to book this AirBnB again.

Amy’s home was perfection. So quaint and lovely, I am obsessed with everything about it. Located in a quiet neighborhood yet absolutely walkable to all things Burlington has to offer! Yes as mentioned the stairs are steep, however there is a solid railing all the way up, also did I mention motion sensored soft lighting to help see on the stairwell? This house has everything laid out for guests to make a stay welcome and easy. Amy was great and left the cutest and most delicious welcome package! Use of the yard was perfect for our fur baby and Amy even had them in mind when she provided amenities. Couldn’t have asked for more. And don’t worry about Amy staying in detached garage apt behind the house, she was respectful of our space and privacy - we only saw her pass by to leave here and there, however immediately responded to any questions we had. Also love the fact that there wasn’t a long list of chores to do before we left! We will be back!

John was a lovely and responsive host. It was a pleasure working with him. We've been going to Smugglers Notch for many years, and the place we rented was the nicest suite in the whole resort, in my opinion. I would highly recommend it as well as working with John. Thanks.

Very comfortable location. Everything we needed the unit had; fully stocked kitchen, bathroom, plenty of towels. Just plain lovely. Do note you will have to pay extra to enjoy Smugglers Notch activities. Could be extra $50-$100 per day for larger pools, hot tube, fun zone, and area activities.

Excellent 3 BR condo at the base of Sugarbush and Mad River Glen, a short drive from downtown Waitsfield. Clean, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable space.

Jonathan’s place is an absolute gem! You can tell right away that a lot of thought and care went into every detail. The space is colorful, a bit eclectic, and full of personality—which really makes it stand out. The items he provided weren’t your typical generic rental supplies either; everything felt intentionally chosen and added to the charm of the stay. As someone who professionally photographs vacation rentals, I’ve seen a lot of places, and this one definitely left a great impression.
