Vacation rentals with a kayak in Cape Fear River

When other spring break plans fell through, we found this place last minute and Michael was so accommodating and flexible, and my son and myself could not be more appreciative. We were very lucky to have found this beautiful spot right on the canal! All kinds of entertainment: the kayaks, paddle boards, ping-pong, darts, well stocked! Michael was very responsive, the place was bright and open, with a gorgeous screened in back deck. It was very peaceful with the sounds of the seagulls, the masts, and the boats going by, what a treat…

Michelle’s home is pristinely clean and beautiful! The layout is perfect for a group. The elevator was so helpful for my ADA needs, as well as in general for our groceries and luggage. Between the two decks and fenced backyard, there are multiple outdoor ocean side options for relaxing, meals, or games. Our group also really enjoyed the kayak. Michelle is a great communicator and so hospitable. Highly recommend, and we look forward to a future stay.

Great place to hangout at and enjoy family. Our dogs loved the backyard. Really would consider staying in the future.

Can't say enough about this BnB! We travel a whole lot and often with our pups. This place was perfect for relaxing at the beach with our dogs - it's fenced and clearly set up for furbabies - even an extra leash and poop bags as well as a ball and some bowls. Many beach places smell a little due to moisture and this place did not at all! It is well laid out for multiple guests too. The labeled kitchen supplies were awesome and everything was in order and made sense. We loved relaxing on the deck overlooking the canal, the extremely short walk to the beach, the very comfy couches and having a general store so close. The hosts were responsive and helpful. Definitely 5 stars! We love a place that is privately owned vs owned by a corporate company and we could tell this beach home is well cherished. Thank you for sharing it with us!!

This was our first experience staying at an Airbnb. The home was nice, spacious, well maintained and as described. There was a lovely walking trail on the road back behind the property- perfect for dogs. The host was very responsive. The only negative was that the unit shares a wall with a second unit and unfortunately there was another group staying in the second unit. They were very loud, played loud music with inappropriate language and lots of bass until late into the night/early morning. While this is no fault of the host, we have young children and it did affect our vacation experience overall. Therefore, I feel it’s worth mentioning and the fact that the unit shares a wall is something to consider.

Staying on the canal and close to the beach was great. Their covered dock is wonderful. We really enjoyed using the paddle boards.

Second time staying here, and we still love the lovely house, the location, the views of the canal and OIB. Plenty of space for our 6 member family, close to beach (3 minute walk), private canal pier. Highly recommend, just make sure to pack toiletries and linens!

This cozy cottage was exactly what my daughter and I needed for a weekend away in a secluded setting on their property. Charlene was a gracious host and the amenities in this cozy cottage were impeccable! It was super inviting, modern, and had all the things that you needed including very appreciated basket of snacks upon arrival. My daughter and I really enjoyed using the gym next-door and then headed out toward Wrightsville Beach the next day. We enjoyed the fire pit at night with provided firewood on the cute patio with the string lights and peaceful sounds of nature. Grocery stores were easily 5 to 10 minutes away and Wilmington was a good 15-20 minute ride. Topsail was 25 minutes in the other direction and we loved visiting there as well. The property is huge and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful cottage! Great stay overall!

As advertised! Would recommend and hope to return. Everything was great! There is not one negative I can think of. One of the best places we have stayed through Air BnB. Sue was a great host, super clean, comfy beds, plenty of space, well equipped kitchen, excellent location.

We loved everything about his place. My grandkids loved the dock because they could fish right in the backyard and we could see them from the back decks. We saw dolphins a few morning and even saw a stingray from the dock. Frederick was an awesome host. We would love to come back early spring or fall so they could catch some fish. Thank you we made some great memories! Beautiful and so peaceful!

Second time that I have been here and it was just as amazing as the first time. It is literally a play ground with all the water activities right at your fingertips and the sunrises and sunsets are picturesque!!!

We spent a week at Pebbys Place. It was so relaxing. We walked at the State Park and saw an amazing mural there. We took advantage of the kayaks and paddle boards, also the barbecue. The house is comfortable and has wonderful views of the lake. We fished, biked, paddled and enjoyed the amazing bird life from the dock and the canal.

I fell in love with the location on the pond. The cypress trees and water were just what I was looking for. The cottage was perfect, I didn't even mind the bathroom was separate. I plan on coming back! Thank you again for sharing your beautiful yard and space!!

We had a great family retreat at Kelly’s cabin. Spacious kitchen and dining. Beautiful back deck and lake view. We cannot wait to go back next year!

The listing was stunning and everything we hoped for. The host was also wonderful and responded very quickly when we had questions. Space was very clean and beautiful. Will absolutely return one day.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at The Cozy Heron. The wagon had the perfect amount of room for my family of three. The beds were super comfy and kept nicely clean. The temperature control was perfect for the warmer day and cooler night. We enjoyed grilling with the provided Blackstone flat top propane grill while looking out at the river. They provided all the necessary grilling tools,oils and even disposable plates. We appreciate the hand sanitize readily available by the grill as well to keep everyone mindful of their hands while glamping. The bathrooms look small on the outside but have all the needed amenities to feel clean and refreshed including plush clean towels,shampoo/conditioner and body wash. We liked that the bathrooms even had their own temperature control to keep your restroom experience enjoyable while glamping. We highly recommend a family stay at The Cozy Heron.
