Family-friendly vacation rentals in Blowing Rock

Theresa the co-host went out of her way to maintain communication with me. At any point I wanted to give her updates or ask any questions she was only a phone call away. I felt super welcomed and safe. She stocked the house with all of your basic food needs. There was a surplus of kitchen supplies to make a home cooked meal. Parking at the well and hiking up to the cabin with my belongings was quite a challenge It's about 65 steps. Once up there I took full advantage of the Hottub. I recommend to any guests to bring their own hammock to enjoy swinging in the front porch and listening to the creek. I recommend wearing hiking shoes to go up to the cabin. I absolutely recommend getting to the cabin way before dark, and if unable bring your own headlamps and flashlights. Be hyper prepared if you've never been into isolated wilderness like that. This is a lovely home and provided our family an idyllic holiday weekend over Easter. Everything is as pictured. Howard is an extremely gracious host; always quick to respond. We just left this morning and my 12 year old is already asking when we can go bock. :)

Phenomenal place to stay!! More than we expected. If looking for a getaway and do some skiing this is the place to stay. Nancy was so helpful and always checked in on us to make sure we were good. If staying in the winter months for some skiing, definitely make sure you are in a 4WD.

This little cabin was in a gorgeous location! Right next to the snow tubing and not far from grandfather mountain! The views from the hot tub were amazing! Brought our two dogs and they loved it! The patio with the hot tub was fenced in so the dogs were able to hang with us while we were relaxing in the hot tub! Definitely would recommend and plan to come back!

We had an amazing stay and thoroughly enjoyed the front yard for all day sledding! The house was spacious - perfect for our four families! Most importantly, the hosts were super friendly and responsive to any questions we had! We will definitely be back to enjoy the river in the summer!!

Will was a great host and very responsive. His home was beautiful, had great amenities and most importantly clean and taken care of! Most will need 4x4 to get up and down the driveway especially it has snowed or is icy.

This was easily one of my most favorite vacations of all time. The tranquility and the peace that Nancy is beautiful property provided will be a memory that I will always cherish with my kids. Outside of the property, we were fortunate enough to take a pottery lesson with her and my daughter mentioned several times to me how this was one of her favorites experiences with me. In addition, they were kind enough to share an opportunity to hike down to their private land in the gorge gorge for a peaceful and fun Saturday afternoon. What an adventure it was and well worth it. overall, we will definitely be looking at coming back and absolutely be sharing this magical place with friends and family.

This was, by far, the cleanest Airbnb I’ve ever had. I’m talking not a speck of dust - not even in the corners of the basement bathroom, folks! We booked Janice’s place last minute from a hotel after finding our original rental was inaccessible. She was gracious enough to allow early check in and welcomed our dogs without exorbitant fees. The location is quiet and peaceful yet central to everything. Beds were comfortable (dog bed included 🥰) and everything was simple & smooth, which meant a lot after the debacle we’d been through. Janice is a host who has gone the extra mile. Her place is incredibly well maintained and you’ll want for nothing. If you are looking for a rental where you can truly relax, this is the one. I only wish we’d booked this as our original choice so we could’ve enjoyed it longer. Would stay here again and again, 5 stars doesn’t begin to do it justice 💛

We had a great stay at the Plumtree Cabin, it was nice to journey through the mountains and find ourselves in a private Cabin next to a farm. We were also welcomed by a family of 7 deer each night of our stay. Very affordable and comfortable cabin. Will definitely keep in mind for future travels.

Robin is quite nice and responsive. We really liked this house which is new, clean and well equipped. Due to recent snow, you need to walk a little way to the top of the mountain (difficult to drive on ice) but Robin will let you know in advance and turn on the outside lights for you. We believe you will get a better view when the weather gets warmer. Good value for money!

Despite the weather, we had a wonderful time being stuck at Jimmy’s place. Great company allowed for a lazy weekend stay in a beautiful home! Would highly recommend!

Great location to visit anything and everything in Boone. The house was peaceful and well equipped with all our needs. Clear instructions and great communication!

Great place next to the slopes! It was an easy quick walk with small children, which was big for us. The place included necessities such as soap, towels, basic spices for cooking, a large crockpot, etc.

We had a short stay on our trip to the coast, but will be back with out a doubt. The A frame is so cool and I loved the craftsmanship and little details they put in it. The area was quiet and so pretty, thank you for this beautiful experience!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Harpers Hideaway. The cabin was charming and very well stocked with anything you would need in the kitchen, extra pillows and blankets in the bedroom and extra towels in the spacious bathroom. The location was very convenient to Blowing Rock and Boone. We will certainly try to stay here the next time we are in the area.

We loved our stay here in this wonderful cabin. It was the perfect place to come to and have a relaxing restorative weekend. The cabin is an absolute dream it's plenty cozy and spacious too. Everything we needed was there we didn't leave we stayed here the whole weekend. The fire pit was wonderful as well as the hot tub. The shower was plenty spacious as well. We loved it here and we will definitely be back!

I stayed here with my family of 4 and our dog. We absolutely loved the cabin! The location and aesthetic of it was exactly everything we were looking for. Arion & Wendy we’re very accommodating and responded back in a timely manner. The cabin is just how it looks! It’s a nice getaway from the city! We’d love to come here again for sure!

Claudia's place was the perfect place for our ski weekend being close to Sugar and Beech Mountains.

This house was beautifully decorated and was large and spacious enough to comfortably sleep our group of 16 people. The views are incredible! We stayed during a major winter storm, but the Town of Beech Mountain kept Beech Mountain Parkway very clear, making access to the gated community easy (with AWD or 4WD). The driveway was conveniently level with the road (on one side), so no big hill to climb to get out. The detached two-car garage had several snow shovels to use, which was convenient. Perhaps most importantly, the owner let us check-in early (12:00 noon, rather than 4:00 PM) in the hopes that some our out-of-town guests could get to the house before the storm arrived. We recognize that may not always be the case, but we appreciated his efforts in accommodating that. Overall this house was large enough for our loud, rambunctious group to have their own space! We would highly recommend this house to anyone and look forward to staying there again.

Absolutely loved the cabin. I would definitely rent again if available. We rented it twice back to back with my family. We enjoyed every moment we were there. Our firat trip was to snow ski and tube with my kids and the second trip was to celebrate my sisters 50th Birthday which she enjoyed. Thank you so much Kimberly for allowing our family to enjoy your home. You have allowed us to create the most beautiful memories!

We just finished a fantastic stay with at The Birds Nest in Boone NC. Our hosts Cary and Rebecca were phenomenal and the communication was outstanding. There were snacks and water available when we arrived to get us through the evening until we could go grocery shopping the next morning. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the amenities and especially the hot tub and fire pit! They provided wood for the fire pit and the hot tub was warmed up when we got there. We will definitely use them again on our next trip to Boone, North Carolina! Five stars all the way around!
