Monthly Rentals in Blackshaw Head

We had a lovely time away! Barry and Helen were brilliant hosts, we couldn’t fault it. Views were amazing and the place was cosy, clean and everything you needed ! We would definitely recommend and return ourselves.

BOOK THIS! Wow what a gorgeous stay at Dove Hideaway. Exactly like the photos, except photos don’t quite do justice of how incredible the view from the lodge is. If you want somewhere super secluded and peaceful, this is it! Amazing walks around the accommodation but bear in mind it’s A LOT of uphill walking due to the location. I think the bed might have been the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in!! Kitchen had everything you could need in terms of utensils etc. I’ve seen other reviews about the sofa and I agree, not comfortable. I would also suggest a different thicker blanket for the sofa too just to make it cosier. The garden stated enclosed for dogs, but unfortunately it was just a fairly low chicken wire, which wouldn’t hold up against my husky if he chased a deer.. which he nearly did! So a bit of a shame we had to keep him on lead for the rest of the trip. Just something to bear in mind for guests with bigger furry friends. Only picking, but overall AMAZING!!

Lovely little getaway for Christmas. The accommodation was warm and cosy with country walks right on the doorstep. Perfect spot to escape the noise and chaos of every day life
