Creating memories with adult children who are living their own lives can be hard to schedule. We found the perfect opportunity for a quick weekend getaway hosted by Leif. What we thought we were getting was a house big enough to host our group. What we got, was so much more! As soon as you walk into the space, you realize that the pictures you saw on the posting do not do justice to the real thing. You’re transported into another era where life slows down and you realize the simplest of things are the really important things: like family. My children especially enjoyed the opportunity to meet Leif’s animals and feed them rinds and banana peels. Peanut was the star of the show ( if you know, you know). Thank you, Leif, for a beautiful weekend that provided a much needed respite, but offered so much more than we were expecting. We can’t wait to come back and make this a family tradition though next time we will stay longer and be more prepared with our animal food supplies : )

We really enjoyed the cabin and it was great to have the hot tub. Sheila is a very responsive host and gave great recommendations. We would definitely return!

Our stay at Ponderosa Pines was wonderful! The cabin was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed, from a fully stocked kitchen to a relaxing hot tub. The location was perfect for exploring local attractions, and we loved the access to Twain Harte Lake. Overall, a fantastic retreat – we can’t wait to come back!

The house was great and I'd recommend it to people looking for a jumping off point for Yosemite. Super comfy beds, great deck, enjoyable hot tub, beautiful location. Lots to love and we had a great time. A note for potential guests: The community (the Pine Mountain Lake Association) that the house is located within is currently experiencing heavy road work from 4/30/25-7/2/25. We had to wait 20+ mins to get into the neighborhood each time we came back, which was annoying to say the least. Not the fault of the airbnb host, but just FYI on expectations.

My family had a great time at this cabin on the river! It was a beautiful location, my kids have the best time exploring the yard and river and have already asked to go back! Also, all the little extra spices/condiments, etc. in the kitchen were a huge plus for cooking meals in the nicely stocked kitchen.

The place is one of the best places Airbnb places we’ve got to stay and relax in. Comfortable and homey. Lots of fun games and music stuff We enjoyed the vinyl records ,hot tub and game room. It’s not too far off from some of the most spectacular views and trails. The hosts were very cool and we never had any issues that we needed to talk to them about. They were very accommodating and we would gladly stay here again.

We absolutely loved the place and can’t wait to rebook! House was super spacious and beautiful location! Lots for the kids to do while the adults had a separate space to unwind! Hosts were extremely responsive and provided all of the information we needed for an enjoyable stay!

We had a beautiful stay at this serene getaway tucked in the woods, surrounded by peaceful forest views—exactly what we were looking for! The house was well-equipped with everything we needed, making it a perfect escape from the city. The host was incredibly communicative and responsive, which made our experience even smoother. If we had to mention anything that could have made it even better, a jacuzzi would’ve been a dreamy addition (just a personal favorite!), and an on-site trash disposal system would’ve saved a little time during checkout. That said, both these things were clearly mentioned ahead of time, so there were no surprises. All in all, a wonderful stay—we’d love to come back again !

Beautiful location and cozy cabin in the snow! The snowmobile adventure in and out was fun and we enjoyed cozy nights by the fire and all the board games and puzzles at the cabin. Thank you Stefani!

Wow, this place is serene! It’s quiet and peaceful and exactly what we needed to get away from the huddle and bustle of life. The cabin was charming. The shower was great. The temperature was perfect. The beds were very comfortable. The Brita water pitcher in the fridge was a great touch. The fridge kept everything very cold. The summer camp vibe is there and the scenery is beautiful. We loved daily walks by the river. It was perfect for my dogs. And at night the stars were amazing! About 90 minutes from Yosemite. About 15 minutes from all the stores/grocery you could need. We’d visit again for sure. Thank you for hosting us!

We loved staying here and would come back as soon as we could. We find many airbnbs do not live up to the quality they advertise. However, this gem is more than worth a stay. We did not leave the area all weekend because we wanted to soak up every minute. The cabin is incredibly clean, well maintained, and as shown in photos. The hosts are extremely responsive and catered to any requests we had immediately. I cannot wait to come back soon and hopefully for longer!

We had an awesome experience staying at Stefan’s cabin. It was a peaceful and relaxing retreat for the weekend. We highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet time away from the city.

Lauren’s Airbnb was the perfect spot for our Yosemite trip. It’s about a 10 minute walk into town and there are amazing local restaurants. It is also an hour and half away from the Yosemite entrance. The place itself was very clean and cozy!

We all loved the house, the surroundings, and peaceful/quiet setting. It was comfortable, clean, well stocked, etc. Everything regarding our stay was A+! The pool table was a big hit too. Don & Cynthia are extremely helpful & went above & beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Our group had a wonderful time and we would love to come back. Thank you for letting us use your beautiful home.

Perfect vacation spot for families or anyone who just wants some peace and quiet. It’s located in a pristine spot with beautiful views of the surrounding forest. The house itself was very well maintained with everything we needed for our family to be cozy and comfortable during our quick weekend stay. Our kids loved using the upstairs loft, which had a shuffleboard and plenty of board games to keep them occupied.. My wife enjoyed lounging in the jet tub upstairs, (which was a huge selling point for us by the way!) and it didn’t disappoint. We all loved taking a bunch of family pictures right outside the home, which held breathtaking views of the woods. It’s located a few miles from Big Trees State Park, which we took advantage of by doing a nice family hike during the day. Gary & Cathy our hosts were very welcoming and gave us all the details we needed for our trip. They even went out of his way to surprise us with a nice “ welcome basket” for our family to enjoy. We loved it here!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Robin, the attention to detail was amazing, the home and property were so wonderful to hang out at! The access to the private pool and lake was as an absolute blast and with a number of little kids, we were so pleased by all there was to do at the house! The only thing to note is that the upstairs bedroom does not have a ceiling so you can hear all the activity in the rest of the house very clearly, not a problem in general but can be challenging if little kids or babies are trying to sleep and others are awake, so plan accordingly when packing or assigning bedrooms!

5 stars! Had such a great weekend with friends at Little Bear! The place is beautifully designed and super cozy, exactly as described. We appreciated the nice towels and the comfy beds. It’s great that the loft has two queens, great if you are traveling with all adults. The setting was peaceful and private — perfect for a relaxing getaway. We loved the hot tub in the morning and star gazing around the fire pit at night. We also enjoyed dinner out on the deck. The location is perfect, so close to Big Trees SP and not far from Murphys, we enjoyed the Sunday Farmer’s Market and Pablito’s Taco Truck! Liset was responsive and helpful, with clear instructions for check-in, check out and local tips. We’d absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet retreat in nature. .

I had a fantastic stay at Melissa and Amy’s cozy cabin in Arnold. The place was perfect for a relaxing getaway, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere. Melissa and Amy were exceptional hosts, always responsive and accommodating. The cabin was spotless and well-equipped, making me feel right at home. The surrounding area was beautiful, providing the perfect backdrop for a peaceful retreat. I highly recommend this charming cabin and look forward to returning in the future!

Staying at The Hidden Dorr in Arnold was outstanding! Brandy was so kind and helpful in communicating anything we needed to know about the cabin and the surrounding area-truly wonderful host! The cabin!! We felt like we were in a treehouse! We were surrounded by tall, spectacular pines. We appreciated the spacious, yet cozy feel inside. The kitchen was the best appointed of any Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in. The bathroom showers had fun, modern fixtures. We loved the 3 sided deck. Meals were mostly eaten there…great steak dinner on the grill! Drive the short distance to Calaveras Big Tree State Park-a must see-awe inspiring! Murphys was an easy drive from the cabin, where great shopping and restaurants are plentiful. Just can’t say enough good things about our stay! Thank you, Brandy, for making this an incredible getaway!

The house is very cozy and clean. It feels very private because the house is surrounded by many trees and there is some distance between the neighboring houses. The host is responsive and accommodating.

We had a great stay here. The campfire was nice and very easy to use, the house was well furnished and clean. Beds were comfortable, and the windows had good coverings to block light for sleeping. the kitchen was well stocked and the furniture was comfortable. This is an excellent place to stay with a short walk to Big trees and a nice relaxing environment. I would definitely recommend this place and return in the future.

We made a multigenerational trip to Bear Valley (grandparents, parents, and grandkids) and stayed in Robin’s cabin. We could not have had a better experience. If you know bear valley, you will appreciate that this is a classic bear valley cabin but one that has been lovingly and meticulously maintained and appointed. It’s the perfect cabin in the woods and so comfortable. We can’t wait to come back!
