Houseboat vacation rentals in Australasia

We - my 20 year old son & I - were two on Borneorundreise & made a stop in Mabul for some diving. Our choice for the property fell on the Mabul Paradies Lodge. Very authentic. Great host David (The Boss) with extremely friendly & helpful staff. All dives were perfectly organized & the diving instructor Eddie & his Dive Master Nelson were great. The typical Asian food was top & could be greatly upgraded by buying freshly caught seafood & fishing. The seafood & fish were prepared extremely deliciously by the in-house kitchen at the desired time. Sometimes David himself is in the kitchen. During our stay he prepared crabs and giant shrimp as well as a Chinese soup & invited us to eat with it. All by family recipe; delicious!!! We will be happy to come back. Our expectations were more than met. We felt very comfortable with David & his team.

Absolutely outstanding stay. Everything is as pictured and Melissa went above and beyond to make me comfortable. She had the heater on for my arrival and sent a message each day to check if I needed anything. Lovely and quiet location. Lots of fish. I can’t recommend River Wren enough.

Great experience for us as a family. We loved the wildlife and the kids will remember it forever.

Great views across the river. The electric blinds meant you could lie in bed and take it all in even before getting out of bed.

From the moment you book a stay at Cristal, you know you have made a great choice. The communication from Ron is friendly & informative. Check in details are clear and easy to follow Once you then arrive at Cristal, your mind will be blown! It is stunning. Everything has been considered and thought of. Seriously everything! All you have to do, is walk in and relax! Fully stocked kitchen, wine glasses a plenty, coffee machine & pods, bbq, kayaks, life jackets, beach towels, shampoo, etc. Everything is at your finger tips. The only issue we had was deciding where to sit! There are so many perfect spots to enjoy both Cristal & the stunning surroundings! The perfect place to relax! My only regret is that I didn’t stay for longer! 🥰

Exceeded our expectations. Such a relaxing stay with beautiful surrounds, tastefully designed and furnished. The most comfortable bed we have encountered during Air bnb stays. Well equiped with everything we needed for our two night stay. Definitely recommend and if we travel to this area again will be our first pick.

The Riverhuis is in a great spot just north of the township of Mannum. It is a terrific spot for a River Murray holiday – handy to Mannum, without the potential noise. The house is very spacious with a lounge room designed to take full advantage of a spectacular view of the River Murray and the big, big sky - excellent for dramatic sunrises and sunsets. The fireplace is a cosy bonus on a chilly night. Plenty of space for up to 4 people in 2 double beds (and the bed we used was more queen-bed size). All facilities are quite serviceable, including tank water and an efficient kitchen. The interior of the house is clean and well set out. A very quiet neighbourhood; Purnong Road runs in front, but we forgot about the very infrequent traffic after a while. The jetty across the road gives you the chance to contemplate the River Murray up close. The house faces a backwater of the river, still very river scenic, but without the river traffic. Our thanks to Jo and Diane for a great weekend!

We had the most magical stay at Idle House. The location is truly special — peaceful, scenic, and the perfect water escape. The house itself is thoughtfully and beautifully designed, with every detail considered. We instantly felt relaxed and at home. The beds are absolute heaven. Possibly the most comfortable sleep we’ve had in ages — you’ll be hard-pressed to get up in the morning. One small (and kind of hilarious) word of warning: the sauna next door is quite the scene! Just after 7am, expect the sound of brave souls flinging themselves off the deck and screaming as they make their icy dash post-sauna. It's a bit of a shock if you're sleeping in the front bedroom — but also weirdly entertaining once you're awake. All in all, a truly special place. We loved our getaway and would come back in a heartbeat. Thanks for having us.

A unique and charming B&B. A beautiful tranquil location with everything catered for. Waking up on the river with amazing g wildlife was incredible. Absolutely the best B&B we’ve stayed in.

I have been on the Murray River twice before on Houseboat Holidays but this is the first time I haven't been anywhere on the Houseboat. The location couldn't be any more perfect. Enormouse gums, birdlife and total, absolute silence the whole time. Even though it was a long weekend there was noone within cooee! Apart from one houseboat quietly passing one morning, the only other traffic on the river were pelicans. No speed boats, no jet skis. An absolutely stunning place to stay. We will definitely be back.

We were delighted that Deanne was able to accommodate us at such short notice. The boat was amazing and we enjoyed 2 perfect days watching the wildlife, sunsets and stars on the river. Would absolutely recommend!
